GlitterShip Year One

Rate this book
The complete first year of GlitterShip Magazine.

In these pages you'll find characters who transcend space and time: resistance fighters, superheroes, magicians, artists, technicians, robots, lovers, faeries, thieves, sailors—and even one righteously pissed-off Cinderella.

Collecting the more than 30 stories that have previously appeared in GlitterShip, this anthology shows that the worlds of LGBTQ science fiction and fantasy are vast and magical. A mix of established, award-winning authors and new writers you've been waiting to meet, GlitterShip brings you a variety of voices to read and enjoy.

Beautifully-produced anthology with a wide range of contemporary LGBTQ+ stories from contributors to the Glittership podcast. If you’re looking for a good short introduction to the work of multiple queer writers in the sf/f genre, this is a find place to start.

This is a great anthology and the stories are well written (in my opinion). It makes for a great book to read on a rainy day or any time.

It's an anthology, and like most anthologies, it tnds to be uneven. Several stories I had previously read, but most were new. On top of being an anthology of uneven quality, it might be considered to be uneven in focus. The goal is the gather an entire book of queer SF short stories, but the result is... Anything with a queer protagonist is in, but not every story is queer. They shouldn't have to be. It does present an uneven quality of _science fiction_ that way, though, as some stories focus on the SF, some are focused more in the represetstive element. Several happily include neuro atypical protagonists. So it's a broad swath of (mostly) humans here, but it can only get better as there are increasing numbers of stories with diverse lives lived written in SF.

A GoodReads GiveAway.

It wore me down. I actually didn't read the last half dozen stories. Most stories too much like fantasy for me.
