The Naked Mughals - Illustrated

Rate this book
DID YOU KNOW THAT

Babur was a drunkard!
He loved a boy named Babri!
Akbar raped children!
Akbar raped his own daughter-in-law!
Akbar had Harem of 5000 women!
Jahangir blinded his son with his own hands!
Shah Jahan did not spare even his own daughter!
Aurangzeb beheaded his own brother and sent his head to his imprisoned father!
Almost every Mughal king killed some of his sons and brothers!
and much more.

This book is an eye opener on Mughal history in India. Mughals have been glorified as great rulers in Indian history books despite being maniacs, incest-lovers, rapists and merciless invaders.

The book is a compilation of all hidden facts. Straight from their authentic biographies. To make Indians realise, enough is enough.

Do not glorify these filthy creatures in the name of preserving the secular fabric of India.

I bought this book because of its title. I wanted to read "exotic" stories about the harems of Mughals and their court. I thought I would read a kind of popular history. But this was a total disappointment. This is not history, not even popular history. This is pure anti-muslim propaganda. In fact, this is rather a pamphlet against all the established Mughal personalities. Even if I agree with the author that men such as Babur or Akbar were ruthless and cruel, I still can't understand his passion. The book gives only scanty remarks to the sources and most of it is full of denigrating statements such as: "...the Mughal history is marred with cases of fratricide with Mughal princes fighting like chickens..." or: "...Mughal Shah...became the most shameless sultan in the entire human history" or: "This is the most shocking dirty dark incestuous pedophile secrets of Moghul Palace that everyone is scared to tell in public. I will spoil the romance of epic Indian stories and musicals." Obviously, the author wants to debunk the myth of the "great" Mughal Dynasty. Perhaps it was not so great after all. Obviously, the author hates Muslims. Perhaps he has his reasons for that. But he could do much better if he simply presented the facts [and there are many cruel "stories" that would make an interesting book] without all these odious comments. Another thing: there is no chronology, no dates of the great events, no references, no sources mentioned-except a few general works cited at the end of the book. Since I am unfamiliar with History of India, I found it difficult to check the truth of the stories concerning most Mughal leaders, but when I came to Alexander the Great I was astonished to read that Alexander ... lost [!] the battle on the river Indus against Porus. But everybody knows, ALL sources agree, that he actually won that battle! Just click on the internet and see the results. In a few words, this book is a very bad choice and a total waste of time and money.

one word propaganda this book is pure propaganda and nothing else, yes there might be some truth in what it says about the Mughal rules and its emperors but the perversions stated in this book is just imagination from someone's mind bent on defaming Muslims. there is no historical accuracy in it.
a complete waste of time and money.

I recently bought this book & after having read it i regret spending money to buy this piece of garbage.
Unlike the author who does not find it necessary to give sources or even the reasons of writing things that he did, below i have collated some of the reasons why i felt this book is pure garbage

1. The author is absolutely incoherent & the language used seems to come from a school kid.
And the content is so ridiculously fantastical that on many counts I felt the author is delusional.
2. There are thousands of factual errors. As an example:
The author has claimed that a term “Ghilman” means Male Sex Slaves where as in reality the “Ghilman” were Slave soldiers & mercenaries akin to “Mamluk” as per Wikipedia.
The above example is just 1 among many.
3. The author has made a lot of claims for which no sources & citations are mentioned.
For example he hinted that there was a sexual relationship between Shah Jahan & his daughter Jahan Ara. Of course he fails to mention the source of this claim

All in all I feel the book is not a product of objective & impartial inspection of history based on facts but rather it’s just a piece of Hindutva Propaganda with the sole intent of further deepening the communal divide by reinforcing the myth that these Muslim Kings were perverted & it is their lust & greed which caused the downfall of the country.

Not sure how accurate the depictions are but the writing style definitely lacks and reflects fanatism from the authors part.

Such book should be written in neutral 3rd person format so that readers can deduce their own conclusions.

Nonethless it’s 1.5 at the most.

Intriguing book with many bogus claims!!!

I find this book intriguing and really an eye opening one about the untold hidden stories of the so called "The Great Empire". However, you embarrassingly failed to draw a line between homosexuality and perverted nature. You put homosexuality and paedophilia in a same sentence suggesting that they mean one similar thing which is not the case. Disappointed!

This is a very anti-Muslim book. It looked at the excesses of the Muslim rulers who ruled India or parts of India with the modern day's upright attitude. The Greeks, The Romans all had too many women and had sex with men as well. The Ottoman empires also maintained large harem. Hindu Indian rulers did the same. Instead of being critical of Muslim rulers, the author should have concentrated on why the Hindus lost all the battles for 1000 years. The reason being, they failed to learn from other civilisation.

Author has taken the views from reliable sources which makes the book's claims genuine. An eye opening book for those lost in false history.

I was not surprised to notice almost equal no. of 1 star ratings as 5 stars against this book which has made a bold attempt to expose lesser known events and indulgences of various emperors during the so called golden era of Mughal Rule in India.
I was too skeptical of certain claims in the book initially but when I began cross checking then with various historical sources such as works of Annette Susan Beveridge , J M Shelat, K S Lal, PN Oak, V Smith, Abu Fazal, works of Royal Physician to Mughal court from Venice and other European travellers & Missionaries etc , I now realise more vehemently that there is definitely lot more dark truths which our modern Marxist pseudo secular historians have so brilliantly hidden from generations together, under the instructions from previous political establishments in a bid to appease certain minority communities and secure their vote bank. By doing so, many of such historians earned unparalleled fame and name, but I see them being disloyal to their profession as well as conscience to pursue the truth unflinchingly.
This revolutionary book prepares you to brace countless unpleasant revelations from our history which so unjustly has been projected as the golden Mughal era in Indian History so far.
But, time is changing now and the country’s youth is waking up to nothing but the truth, no matter how raw & deadly it turns out to be. A definite read 👍

Don’t know how authentic or true are the things the author writes about. He does write about the prevalent practices of the time which seem true, however he makes the mistake of superimposing today’s morality with what was prevalent during those times. Maybe what he says is totally against what one has learnt however the book seems more of a rant against the evils of religion than history. His storytelling is very poor and sounds more of a crib rather than a unbiased and scholastic work. Would have not missed much had one avoided reading this book. Not at all recommend for reading. Very poorly written.

In "The Naked Mughals," Vashi Sharma's narrative reflects a deeply troubling bias and extremist Hindutva sentiments that undermine the integrity of the scholarly discourse. Throughout the text, the language employed is alarmingly skewed, perpetuating prejudiced views against Muslims and the Mughal dynasty without credible evidence or references to support the author's assertions. The book's relentless vilification of Muslims and baseless accusations against the Mughals paint a distorted picture of history, devoid of scholarly rigor or objectivity. By succumbing to divisive rhetoric and failing to uphold the standards of academic integrity, "The Naked Mughals" falls short of its potential to offer a nuanced and balanced exploration of this crucial period in Indian history.

AN OPENLY RACIST ATTEMPT TO MALIGN ISLAMIC/MUGHAL HISTORY

Worst Of The Worst. This book is a pure propaganda and nothing else with No Historical Accuracy. It's a book of Prejudged opinions of author's mind where he didn't even try to refer the historical documents. It's a book on anti-Islamic agenda and his bias from page 1.

If the author reads this: I'm sure you grew up filling your mind with full of never ending garbage. So don't ever put your garbage/bullsh!t ideas on the paper again.

A hatchet job on the Mughals, starting from the founder of Islam, the Mughals in India, including the Khilgis, the Tuglaks, Timur, Sayyid, Lodhis, Mughals till Tipu and beyond. While the debaucheries are shocking by modern standards, I believe these were the norms of those times, of rulers irrespective of religion. Interesting read but deeply disturbing.

Uncovering the blindfold on the eyes of the ordinary folk and showing the true nature of certain rulers who are unfortunately still revered.
This is a must-read for people from all communities in India because it shows us the history of our own people and how our ancestors suffered at the hands of some.

This book is short and easy to read. The language is kept simple. The writer comes directly on the topic without sugar coating or beating the bush. I feel the book honestly fulfill it's motives of showing the true face of Mughal Dynasty and Akbar Mahaan. The title is apt as book naked the Mughals in true sense.

Wooow. The authors have shown the true character and lifestyles of our "great " mughals. The kund of harems they had, the pedophilia and their most cruel acts. The best part is they have taken all the references from the original biographies and autobiographies where these mughals boasted about their harems. A must read.

The book was written without proper evidence, don't read it . It has nothing very reinvent and might influence you wrongly, about the history of India. Also" the book is trying to spread hatred against Islam religion and trying to promote Hinduism.

Not as much a book, then a collection of articles written by the auther. They are passionately written, and you can feel his pain too. The book is good to have a different perspective then your childhood teachings.
Note : Not at all suitable for children, if it's not apparent from the title.

A telling account of the atrocities of the Mughals and Islamist invaders through the last millennium. The reason I am not giving this five stars is that the language could have been a little more refined to give this book more credibility.

Absolutely a must read, for all the half baked sickular potatoes who believed in all the fake history written by the so-called Leftist historians promoted widely by Nehruvian Democracy. Thanks to both the author's, for their effort to compile these horrible facts & publish it as a book.
