This short story was previously released under a different title. It has been extensively rewritten and expanded. It has a guaranteed HFN!

If you ask nicely, I might even turn it into a full length novel!

Normally I hate rock star romances but even within the first couple pages you can already see that Slade is done with that lifestyle. So I am glad I carried on and finished this book. Overall, it was cute and sweet and more than a little naughty ;) I liked that Jenny didn't bow down to him even when she realizes who he is and the chemistry between them was hot!

The story of rock star Slade and reclusive baker Jenny. This is a superfast short story. Quick to get into the action but also quite rushed. I am not really a novella fan. I prefer slower builds, more character definition and more push/pull. I didn’t feel that Jenny tried very hard to resist Slade. But the story was a good tale with an ultra sweet HEA. Maybe a bit too sweet considering the guy was meant to be a hardcore rocker.

I would say that apart from being informed that Slade is a rockstar, there is little music in this story. I like rockstar romances because of all the music parts. I felt this was missing.

It’s a pretty hot read though and the book has lots of excerpts from the authors other books at the back so I’ll probably read more.

Slade is a short story by Joanna Blake. Jenny Philips lives a quiet life as a baker in her grandmother’s cottage by the sea with her dog Basil, that is until a noisy neighbor moves in next door. Rock star Slade Kinney needed a break from touring, fast cars, and easy women, so when he decides to build himself a mansion as a private getaway on the shores of Long Island, he doesn’t expect to find the quiet baker next door. When the pair finally meet, Slade wants nothing more than to make her his.. the problem, Jenny doesn’t want anything to do with the annoying Rock star. Will Slade be able to convince Jenny that he isn’t just a shallow rock star? Or will Jenny keep him from ever getting closer?
