Wonderful book abt how a barren lady stole three babies and how the scam fell because one of the stolen children was an identical twin and was therefore recognized after some 18 years. Touching and spell-binding I couldn't stop turning the pages!
This book marks the period in my teenage years when I decided I wanted to be a writer, to be a storyteller just like Mwangi Gicheru. Rest, sleep, for now, Mwangi Gicheru. You leave behind a worthy legacy of incredible words! :(
I was reading this book during a science lesson. The teacher confiscated it. I was not worried about that. I was more worried because I had borrowed it from a boy in class 8 and now he would not lend me any more books for losing this one.
Read this in my childhood and absolutely HAD to reread. Watch out: This is one of those gripping books you read in one sitting. Stayed up till it was done.
A moving story, emotional as intriguing. Fate had given her money and denied her something more precious than money. She was barren. For Halili, life meant nothing without children – so she stole them. But a chance encounter at the Nairobi International Show triggered a number of past mysteries which plunged her and her family into a nightmare which threatened to destroy them all.
Interesting book. It was a massive read during the 90s for the High Schoolers. The two main characters, who eventually ended up together were lovable. For teenagers, this is a great book.
