Northern Lodge Pack #2

Omega Remembered

Rate this book
“Getting Aries as my mate is a fantasy that I never would have had the imagination to dream up on my own, but to get those two beautiful angels too? That's just the complete package.”

Micah is a young alpha, on a mission to find the infant daughter of an old friend. When he also finds two other lost little angels, he has no choice but to rescue them as well. Before he is able to return them home to their dad, they already have staked their claim on his heart.

Aries is an omega whose babies were stolen from him, ripped from his arms right at birth. He's tried to stay strong, but the pain of their absence haunts him every moment of every day.

When he discovers that his children have been found, by an alpha that is already on the way to deliver them into his arms, Aries is beside himself with nervous excitement. What he doesn't expect is that the alpha is the one man that he has reason to hate due to a regrettable incident from the past.

What neither of them expected to happen when Micah arrived with the children, was to find their fated mate. Can these two men who have zero respect for each other find their way to somehow form a family together with the children that they both adore?

Warning: This book is not intended for readers under the age of 18. It contains pottymouth language, adults adulting in fun and naughty ways, and a strong dose of insta-love. Possible trigger warning: Contains references to a past kidnapping/sexual assault. No assault scenes are included in this book.

I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!

I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.

As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.

I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! I only send out NL's to announce new releases or important announcements. I also like to note in my NL what I'm currently reading along with a cover shot and the link for anyone who is interested.

I look forward to interacting with everyone here!

This has SPOILERS but if you've experienced SEXUAL ASSAULT, this is the only TRIGGER WARNING I've seen for it so far, so I won't hide it.

***

I dont often leave reviews but....

My whole entire body locked up reading this book.

Do NOT write an assault victim if you don't understand assault.

It's NOT romantic, it's not something you magically get over just cause the guy's your mate and -OH my God!- to find out that:

1. his mate was responsible for his repeated rape and loss of children,
2. His children openly reject him,
3. His oh so wonderful fated mate is a complete Asshole to him, even AFTER finding out that he caused the assaults,
4. Literally EVERYone continues to take his choices and autonomy from him,
5. He's then handcuffed to this self-righteous asshat with the expectation of mating, despite everyone knowing that he is a rape victim.

The guy Never actually apologizes or even references his rape in anything other than conversational passing, yells at him in public and then kisses him without preamble......

My heart is pounding now writing this, and I about had a meltdown listening to the audiobook. If nothing else, put a fucking trigger warning on it (trigger: continuous sexual assault references that are never resolved). It's just... this is awful. I walked into this bullshit blindly after moderately enjoying the first book.

If you've ever been assaulted, DO NOT read this. I don't even know if I can finish it.... Im currently paused in the middle of the first (handcuffed) sex scene wanting to hurl. At least put a warning on it.

This book was a good continuation following the Northern Lodge Wolf Packs Story. I liked the book and enjoyed the narration for it. John has been doing a great job narrating every book in this series so far, and this one was definitely cute, he really made it unique especially with the kids voices including Sarah's speech impediment. We get to learn about the Omega/Aries Heartbreaking backstory and how he ended up in the situation with that former Alpha who was Kidnapping omegas to sire their pups. Alpha/Micah just so happens to have a linked past with Aries which is a little harsh, but when he finds the missing sired pups and joins the Northern pack, Micah and Aries seem to overcome all the past hurts pretty easily once they realize they are actually fated mates and belong together, Its a good book, and I like where the Author is taking this series. Look forward to the next one.

Seriously ?

I am completely aware that this is a fantasy love story. But can't the progression of the love story at least be real. The Alpha whose thoughtless actions caused the Onega Aries to be repeatedly raped and to have his children ripped from his arms at birth is his fated mate. Not even a day goes by to let Aries deal with this, when Aunt Cat handcuffed them together and practically implied she won't free them until they mate. She did this knowing that Aries had been repeatedly raped. And the author thought this was a good idea? There is no actual love story or story progression. I will not waste my time with this author, as book 1 contained another lazily written and rushed story with an equally nonexistent love story and basic storyline.

Another good read

I really enjoyed this book with Aries and Micah. I really felt for Aries and what he's had to endure and we get a better understanding in this book of what that entailed. When Aries discovers his children are alright when there discovered whilst Micah hunts for Jenny's pup he's ecstatic but it soon sours when he sees they don't want him but have grown attached to Micah whom he doesn't like due to an incident in his past what led him on the path he travels now. I liked that we seen how the other omega protected Aries and I'm looking forward to sys book to see if his fiestyness continues and I can't forget Aunt Cat who I think is a absolutely brilliant character and eccentric, making me chuckle. Only minor faults in my opinion is some words were wrong so needs a bit more editing and the fact I think it could have been longer to give the relationship between Aries and Micah time to sort out there differences instead of just instalove as they didn't like each other with jealousy and anger at the forefront of their emotions and then some handcuffs and time alone cured that? Just needed a bit longer for the relationship to develop more before past hurts are magically gone.

*****Spoilers ahead***** Long rant

I read the first book of the series, which was good. Was looking forward to this second book, which started out great but for some reason things didn't quite add up for me and it frustrated me. Also, some of the scenes were too similar to the first book making it monotonous.

****SPOILERS, DON'T READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK*****

I was expecting some kind of redemption arc for Micah, which in turn would help the pups bond with their bio-dad and some scenes for Micah to come to respect omegas more. Instead, he says the most insensitive thing to Aries about being a dad for a few minutes, which was not Aries's fault in the first place. Knowing he went through the trauma of getting forcibly impregnated and his pups snatched away and not being able to see them for years, there's no excuse for Micah to say such an insensitive thing to Aries and getting away with it. Aries should never have forgiven him for that.

Also, I never saw a word of apology from Micah to Aries for the turn of events after he handed him over to the alpha. Instead of following Daniel's advice to apologise or grovel if need be, Micah just puts Aries over his shoulder like a neanderthal which was disturbing and regressive to say the least. Not everything can be resolved by sleeping together. I understand this is a supposed romance novel but it would have been so wholesome to see some interactions between the MCs to clear the air before they got together instead of Aries apologising to Micah for being "broken" when Micah should be apologising for being insensitive to his trauma.

If this was how the MC omega was to be treated in the book, what was the point of Karl's POV on omegas, Sy's tirade and Micah's regret to Daniel over Aries's past trauma, if we're not getting it translated into some positive meaningful interaction between the MCs?

Really didn't need one of Micah's first thoughts about Aries to be about "his tight little ass".First of all, predatory af. Second of all. Do we really need to write that about traumatized rape victims? Especially after he'd just been rejected by his kids and stormed off in a whirl of emotions. And thirdly, which isn't as criminal as the first two but I'd really like a more realistic portrayal of a body after two pregnancies. Btw, I love Sy for letting Micah have it. Next issue. The non-consensual kiss???? Really? It's a risky territory in general, but when it involves a rape victim??? Must we do this, must we really?Another issue. Everyone CONSTANTLY takes autonomy away from Aries? It's all very moving and cute how everyone gathered around and cried when Aries told his story, but what's the point of that if it means nothing???? They all feel so bad for him but then just continue to obstruct his healing with new trauma and blatant disrespect??? I ask again, must we do this, must we really? Next issue. Seriously, two minutes of conversation while handcuffed was enough to just.... Suddenly heal Aries? And Micah calling Aries baby, sweetheart and everything else under the sun while they were fighting not five minutes ago? Again, feels predatory af.
Oh Susi, what have you done. I like Susi Hawke books just fine, but missed me with this one.

Personally, I enjoyed this more than the first book in the series. I have a long way to catch up with this series and the 2 spin-off series that come after, so I know that her writing and the characters will only continue to improve as I get to the more recent writing!

While this was a good read, I had a few issues with it. First of all, I found it very unrealistic that a young guy like Micah would gush the way he did over these kids. We hear him call them "beautiful angels" and "precious" this and that over and over. He sounded very much like a woman in the way he talked and his instant bonding with two strange kids. Also, it seems odd that, going by the kids' ages, Alpha Fremont's sexual bondage harem had to have been going on for about 4 years without anyone knowing about it. As in the first book, the editing is atrocious, very distracting and off-putting. Things that I did like were seeing Kai again and getting more of the group dynamic of the pack. Those that like a lot of cute kid time and sweet parenting will like this one. The only real angst in the story is related to the story of abuse and assault at Alpha Fremont's hands; the disagreement between Micah and Aries is quickly patched up. I think the dynamic the author is going for is enemies to lovers but the story isn't long enough to really develop that. Also, I usually add a note that, when the author says that there is "pottymouth" language, she doesn't mean dirty sex talk but LOTS of swearing of the sh*t and f*ck variety. It does make the characters seem more realistic and youthful somehow, but I want readers to be clear what they are in for. I have read the first five books in this series as a binge so you can tell that I like them for what they are but this one was a little weak.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey’s books)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

3.6 🌟's Presumptuous Alpha
This is Omega Aries's story. And it is a tragic story indeed. You really get to see how terrible a monster his former Alpha was as well as the Alpha's First Mate. And how devastating an experience it was for Aries to carry his pups to term just to have them immediately snatched away & never to know what happened to them.

This is also the story of Aries's mate Micah, a cousin of Daniel the Second in Command Alpha of the Northern Lodge (N L) Pack. Micah had some outdated ideas about Omegas. The N L Omegas quickly set him straight.

But there initially was a huge conflict regarding Aries's found pups. They bonded to Micah because he rescued them. It took the combined efforts of the entire Northern Lodge Pack to help these two stubborn fated mates reconcile their differences for the sake of their pups, their mated status, and peace within the pack.

Initially I didn't like Micah but by the end of the book he was acting better (or face the wrath of the NL Omegas & Alphas). They each had some personal growth to achieve. The pack acted as a stabilizing force with some really good Alpha and Omega behavior to model.

Needs an editor

Or maybe just someone of average reading ability to give constructive feedback. I'll give a couple examples-

In the first few paragraphs the author introduces at least seven characters in excruciating confusion. Quite a pile of back story and motivations which don't make sense. Reading further it becomes clear that's not a style choice. It's just poor ability.

Then, were treated to “My name Sawa. Dis Dywan. He my bwuva.” and "You mean Hugga? Huh not owah mommy. Her da mean wady dat da mate to owah alfa daddy.” No.... just, NO.

Couldn't continue past the first few chapters. Gave it one star above minimum because this has to be self published and I've got respect for anyone who has conviction regardless of how misplaced it is.

This book was a bit of 'all in the feels' type of book. Of all of the Omegas Aries I want to say had it the worst. He lost not one but two of his children and having to make his children love him is rough. To make matters worst the reason he was caught up was because of some 'Alpha douche'. I love the dynamic that Micah and Aries had with one another. They kind of fell head over heels in lust with one another but at least it took a while for it to happen and not in the same moment they met. This book was okay but not the bestest.

Aries & Micah

This book was emotional and funny. And the pups were adorable!

Character breakdown:

Aries: I adored him, despite his past, I loved his fiery attitude and the way he took charge when needed. He was great.

Micah: he went from me liking him, to me disliking h8m and wanting to slap him. To back to liking him again lol. The man had plenty to learn.

I liked getting to know more of the omegas and alphas in this series, cannot wait for the next books.

If you like emotional, funny and adorable pups this is the book for you!

again this is the same thing I said about the 1st book and I guess this doesn't effect this book but should effect the Northern Pines Den series because I read the series backwards but I think it's weird that the series are intertwined and Aries' baby's name is Dylan and Liam's Cousins name is Dylan but I guess it doesn't matter since Dylan was never I main character in the Norther Pines Den series

I really liked this next book in the series even more so than the first. I liked that the two MCs had to struggle a bit to overcome their past. Micah was a great character and I loved how he bonded with the kids. Aries was great too. It was good to see his struggles and also overcome them. I got a little annoyed at the names the little girl had come up for them. These books are a little kitschy but they’re sweet.

I love how we get to see Micah as a kind and compassionate alpha before we heart Aries' backstory. I love how we also see that despite Aries' story he is willing to understand what motivated Micah in the past even when it is hard to have your past face you head on. Once again we get to see what a strong group of omegas are part of this new pack as they look out for and defend their friend. This is such a great group of people. Really enjoying this series.

Ares

The book was ok, I didn't like how the kids were calling Micah daddy after what 24hrs, I get them trusting him but that was too much and I didn't like them being handcuffed and then mating that first day, Ares didn't see his kids for 4 and 2 years but yea let's drag him away to go have sex it wasn't realistic and kinda forced mating, I usually i get sucked into the story with this one I couldn't, I did read the next one and it was way better

Micah's good deed to find baby Erin has him rescuing three more kids. It was how he fell in love with the children that melted me. Aries's reaction to his abducted kids being found was heart-wrenching and his jealousy was understandable. Both of them need to take a deep breath and relax. Leave it to feisty Aunt Kat to make them do exactly that. It doesn't take long for them to see that they are better as a united team for the kids and themselves.

The writing quality of this book was MUCH improved over the first one. I didn't notice any glaring errors, so I was able to stay in the story. Well done! I will most likely continue to read this series.

I did wish that this book had more groveling and more trauma recovery. I guess I was feeling extra angsty!

I absoloutely adore this book! I've listened to the audiobook half a dozen times already. Even though its got some sad stuff in it (it's stuff thats already happened) it has a very sweet ending and some good sexy times to make up for it.
I love the MC's and the amount of sass between them. Aunt Cat is also one of my favorites, she's a spunky old lady that doesn't take shit from anyone lol

Another great add to the series. Micah and Aries are beautiful together. Aries has a heartbreaking plot that will make you want to cry; wanting him to have someone to lean on and find peace. His kids are just adorable and Micah accepting them right off the bat was amazing. Each book in the series make me want to read more, this pack is growing and each couple is unique. Can't wait for the next.

I really like this one the best so far. Micah and Aries are a good match. There a section that gets emotional for me. But for the most part it’s low angst and a very sweet read. The children are too cute. I was disappointed we didn’t get to see som interaction between Micah and the bear after he found his mate, I think he owes him a beer.

This is the 2nd in the series. It focuses on Micah and Aries. Like the previous book, it is quick and fun. It has mpreg, insta love, fated mates and no graphic discussion of past sexual assault. I like this author and this series, as well as the upcoming series that are connected to these characters. It's just a fun, sexy read if you like these tropes.
