Der bewegte Mann & Pretty Baby

Axel ist ein verunsicherter, möchtegernbewegter Mann. Die Probleme mit seine Freundin Doro meint er mit einem wohlinszenierten Selbstmorddrama lösen zu können. Doro aber durchschaut dieses Spielchen und hat die Faxen dicke. In 'seiner Männergruppe' versucht Axel wieder Halt zu finden. Dort lernt er auch Walter - genannt Waltraud - kennen, die als Gast übers Schwulsein referiert. Und dann . . .


'Pretty Baby' ist die Fortsetzung von 'Der bewegte Mann'. Sie erinnern sich: Der 'bewegte Mann' Axel und seine Freundin Doro hatten geheiratet, weil ein Baby unterwegs war. In diesem Band beschreibt Ralf König, wie es dem jungen Paar weiter ergangen ist. Natürlich spielen auch Norbert und Waltraud wieder mit, und natürlich gibt es wieder reichlich Probleme und Konfusionen: Doro ist immer noch sauer auf Axels Kontakt zum schwulen Norbert, Axel will fremdgehen, Doro ahnt was, Waltraud wird im Kino verprügelt und, und . . . Klar, daß es wieder ein Happy-End gibt!

About the author

Ralf König was born on the 8th of August in Soest, Westphalia, Germany. He went to the secondary school in Werl and then later did an apprenticeship as a cabinet-maker. In 1979 during his coming-out he published his first short comic stories which due to the politically motivated gay-movement were very engaged. The comic-stories appeared in the Munich underground magazine Zomix as well as in the gay periodical Rosa Flieder. He decided to continue his studies and then trained at the National Academy of Art in Düsseldorf from 1981-1986 concentrating on Free Art.

Unlike the horrible, borderline-homophobic movie based on this comic, this one is a must read.
Written and drawn by German gay comic legend Ralf König, it's main quality is having characters so human and real that you can't help but regard them as friends while reading.
You do not need to be gay to enjoy this. Promise.
