Mika drinking Yuu's blood... I hate myself a bit for enjoying it so much. Mika didn't want to be a vampire, so I hurt for him but... Mika drinking Yuu's blood! *-*
My babes are finally, finally together.
(Mika's immortality is going to cause me some serious pain.)
Things are such a mess... Makoto lost almost, if not all, of his Squad... Guren possessed by his Demon bitch ex-girlfriend (Guren is Shinya's you bitch!).. my poor babe is hurting. So are Shinya and Yuu and Mika and poor, poor Kimizuki.. seeing his dear sister like that.
I hate Kureto and Mitsuba's sister, too!!!
(I've read the 40th chapter, the 1st from Volume 11, and I can't believe that it ended like that, that there aren't enough chapters translated to even finish the 2n season of the anime. How the hell am I going to handle the wait of the manga chapters and for the 3rd season, that is going to that ages to premier?)

My favourite volume so far! Lots of precious moments between Yu and Mika, and some intriguing revelations regarding the 'Seraph of the End' project. The next volume enters a new arc so I'm excited to see what new challenges the characters will face.

Mika fights through 30 human soldiers to get to an unconscious Yu. He succeeds, but is gravely injured in the process and needs blood. Can he hang on to his sanity long enough for Yu to wake up so he can relay an important message?
This contains the sweetest “first bite” scene in any vampire fiction. Fight me. I would give this 6 stars if I could!

Favorite moments (spoilers, obviously):
- I love that Mika is willing to charge through the human army to get to Yu but isn’t trying to hurt them any more than is necessary to accomplish that goal. And I love that Yu’s friends recognize Mika, and that Shinoa takes the lead on holding off the other humans (including smacking poor Shinya into a wall!) so that he can escape with Yu. She knows that Yu would be devastated if Mika were killed, but the vampire clearly isn’t going anywhere without him - I mean, just look at the way he’s cradling him in the middle of the street filled with enemy soldiers!
- Asuramaru is a sneaky one and yet…oddly helpful? While Yu is chatting to them while passed out, the demon says that they like how honest he is about what he loves and desires* and especially how, when it comes to protecting family, good and evil mean nothing. “You really ARE broken!” They claim not to know what happened to Guren because “I only see what you see,” and yet are able to tell Yu he should wake up for the OTHER family member who came to him. So that claim of limited knowledge is clearly a lie…but it does mean that Yu finds Mika before he bleeds out!
*Well, not quite honest enough, on many levels, I’d argue! But he’s very open and straightforward about his feelings as far as he understands them in the moment, at least.
- Even dying of blood loss, Mika has an impressive amount of self-control. He is tempted to drink from a child he finds in the grocery store where he carries Yu, but stops when the kid calls him a monster, reminding him of exactly what he’s trying to avoid. When Yu later approaches him, he pounces, but doesn’t immediately bite, and indeed snaps back to himself when Yu actually says yes.
- Can we talk about that reaction of Yu’s for a sec? Mika is so sure Yu is going to hate him if he drinks human blood. But all Yu sees is the most important person in his life, miraculously not dead but in desperate pain. Mika has thought all this is his fault because his escape plan failed, but Yu blames himself for leaving Mika. And his conclusion that being a vampire or drinking blood isn’t what makes one a monster isn’t as sudden as it might seem: He’s surprised that Mika hasn’t touched a drop, meaning that Yu was committed to getting him back despite assuming that he must have been drinking human blood already! And just the way he literally and figuratively embraces Mika, assuring him that they’ll always be family, no matter what he is - My heart! But, after all, Mika welcomed him into the family after even Yu’s parents rejected him as a monster, so why wouldn’t he do the same in return? And when Mika finally gives in and bites him, all he says is: “Welcome home, Mika”.
The anime makes it extra gorgeous with the subtle piano soundtrack and the voice acting (notice how Mika’s voice breaks on the “I’m going to become a monster because of you”): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=995lM...
- Mika saying that it isn’t normal, surviving by drinking the blood of your family, and Yu just being like: “So? Who cares about being normal?”
- Mika’s expression changing from surprised horror at Yu recounting how suicidally depressed he was after escaping at the cost of leaving Mika behind, changing to happy tears as Yu describes how finding him again gave all that struggle meaning and concludes: “Mika, let’s live on together, OK?”
- Mika tries to get Yu to run away with him – Third time’s gotta be the charm, right? (To be fair, Yu said yes the first time; That plan just went to hell immediately!) However, Yu is concerned about the fate of his human friends. And rightly so, since, unbeknownst to him: A) the other humans are not super happy that the Shinoa squad protected Mika and B) there is no chopper waiting at the airport, meaning ALL the humans are screwed if the vampires catch up with them! And just the way Mika’s frustrated annoyance melts as Yu turns on the persuasive charm…He can never refuse Yu anything he wants that much!

We got the gang back together! Both Yu and Mika are finally reunited. I look forward to seeing how Mika's relationship with Yu and his friends work out.

The time of Yuichirou and Mikaela Hyakuya’s reunion is nigh, even if Mika has to fight an entire troop of Imperial Demon Army soldiers to get his beloved Yu back, forcing Shinoa, Youichi, Kimizuki, and Mitsuba to make a fateful decision about this obsessive young vampire who is still precious to Yu. In the meantime, Mika can no longer restrain his hunger, which drives Yu to make a reckless choice of his own to save him. The Shinoa Squad find themselves at the end of their rope after all the impulsive decisions and even more evidence of how little they can trust their superiors, evidence that has Shinya Hiragi and everyone who cares about Guren Ichinose ready to abandon their mission. Only there’s much more to what’s happening to Guren than meets the eye as Ferid Bathory reveals, along with a bit of what’s he’s plotting to Crowley Eusford, exposing a surprising partnership betraying vampires and the Imperial Demon Army alike.
Many a climax drove the plot in this volume forward, the main ones involving Yu and Mika. One of the most dramatic, powerful, emotionally driven action scenes occured in this book, showing just how far Mika will go for Yu, along with some equally epic displays of loyalty from Kimizuki, Youchi, and Shinoa. Youichi’s acceptance of Mika for Yu’s sake was especially touching and Shinoa is especially awesome in her defense of Mika for Yu as well, in a scene which made me love her all the more. This sparks off a major turning point along with a ray of hope for Mika in the main arc. More hope glimmered in the tender, intense reunion between Yu and Mika, where Yu shows just how far he’ll go to save Mika’s life, even if it means accepting Mikaela as a complete vampire, one of the creatures he’s hated until now. This makes it a major turning point for Yu as well, one he’s been gradually moving towards since he discovered Mika’s fate and it felt so right, even as it moves into morally gray territory. Ferid Bathory drops tantalizing hints about what he’s up to, heightening the tension in a scene where Crowley confronts him about his scenes. The last panel left readers on quite the cliffhanger, raising eager anticipation of more. For doing all of this in an exquisite art style, I give this five stars.

Okkkk so in this one Mika and Yu FINALLY reunite (which is great). Sadly in the manga is less romantic looking than in the anime. I remember the episode in the anime was like... very gay and i loved ittttt
Mika drinks Yu’s blood. He’s a full vampire now. His eyes change colors and everything. They have emotional talk and Mika tells Yu to escape with him somewhere away form humans and vampires. And Yu says that he has to save his family first. And there they are headed.
The guys thet escaped the vampire attack are going to abandon the mission (that apperantly was Kureto’s idea and we all know that Kureto never means anything good) and go save Guren.
But apparently Guren is half possessed by Mahiru (who is allied with Krul Tepes)
Anyways lots of things happen in this one.

Mika, Mika, Mika! Yuichiro and Mika are finally together again! Oh my goodness, the expressions on Mika's face during this volume were absolutely priceless! I caught myself staring and giggling more than once. And, we got just a glimpse into the Seraph of the End project, which is what I was wanting with the last volume.
