SEAL's Second Chance

Rate this book
Maddie Stewart woke to a world she didn’t recognize, one that left her with questions no one could answer, except the handsome man sitting at her bed side when she came to. Real life felt like a dream, a world so perfect that her heart swelled with happiness. But, in the night, her dreams became nightmares, reminding her there was plenty she still didn’t know.

The SEAL Brotherhood motto, where the only easy day was yesterday, rang all too true for Navy Seal Isaac Lewis. The girl of his dreams was at his fingertips, but was just out of reach. He was faced with decisions, ones he knew were right, and ones he knew were wrong. Somewhere, somehow, the line began to blur, and he was certain he’d overstepped that line, but he wasn’t sure he wanted to go back.

Two worlds collide by accident, by chance, or by fate?

SEAL's Second Chance is an 70,000 word standalone second chance Navy SEAL romance with a HEA and no cheating.

OMG! Sensational! I don’t even know if that is the right word to define this book by Ivy Jordan.
Maddie has run away from an abusive fiancee to Isaac, a former navy seal. They have know each other since Maddie moved next door to him as children. Maddie is hit by a car and looses her memory. The story takes off from here.
The book is filled with suspense, deceit, demons from the past, guilt, frustration, memories, sexy scenes, romance, and love.
I couldn’t put this book down until I had finished it. Ivy has a way of building her plot and characters that make them mesh. I love how her book will bring about an awareness of women being abused. She is a true artist when it comes to writing. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I borrowed from Kindle Unlimited program.

Maddie Stewart went jogging and woke up in the hospital not knowing who she was after being hit by a car. Sitting beside her is Isaac Lewis. He has been at the hospital since the accident and tells her and the authorities that she is Maddie Grubbs. She comes to accept Isaac as her fiance and starts weeks of recovery and trying to remember her past.

Isaac knows he is lying to Maddie, but he needs to protect her from her ex-fiance because he was abusing her and really hurting her with his jealous rages and demands. They are at Isaac's house in Florida and she wants to go back to Portland, Oregon where she was living and working for Rob, her abusive fiance to try to remember about her life.

This sets up the plot for how amnesia causes a person to question everything and how frustrating it is to not remember even simple things like food preferences. Isaac, the ex-Navy SEAL has loved Maddie since he was a child and she moved in next door to him. His caring and emotional commitment to her is loving, sweet and made me wish I had found such a deep emotional man in my live too. The return to Portland added an element of danger and adventure to the plot. Isaac wanted a second chance with Maddie and you will have to read SEAL's Second Chance to see how that worked out for him with all the untruths he told Maddie along the way through the story.

Isaac has loved Maddie since they were kids and he would do anything for her. That includes keeping her safe with whatever means necessary. Isaac is an ex-Navy SEAL who has become a private detective. When Maddie needs help, she calls Issac and of course he is there for her. After an accident, a few moments of true honesty and a trip home will change life forever for both of them. When you lose yourself within your memory and nothing feels familiar, that is what Maddie is feeling. The one place that feels safe is in Isaac's arms. What will happen when the truth comes out? Will she start remembering things and then will their lives change forever? Can you get past a lie if it is to protect you from harm? You will have your heart hurting during part of this book, you will be yelling as Isaac in other parts and then you will be rooting for a happy ending during the rest. It's well written, the characters are likable and the story is good. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this book.
Isaac is a private detective and he has been in love with Maggie since she first moved in next store to him as a child. He realizes they could have something special if she would only give him a chance - but how far would he go?
Maggie is in Miami with Isaac when she is hit by a car and has no memory of who she is, except that Isaac says they are engaged and she is wearing a ring.
How far will Isaac take the story he is telling Maggie to keep her safe and what happens if Maggie's memory comes back?
The story is well written. If we had a chance to "get" the person we loved through a little deceit would we? And how long would be keep the ruse up?
This is an ex-SEAL with his heart in the right place but maybe he needs to trust the one he loves.
I received this book and am giving an honest and voluntary review.

A very well written story with twists and turns that only gave it an edge. It has drama, passion, emotions, lots of chemistry and steamy hot scenes. All that makes a great story where friends become lovers.
The story is captivating and flows well. The main characters are very well described. Maddie and Isaac has of course got issues to deal with. Maddie comes to Isaac because of problems with her boyfriend. She looses her memory.
I love that Ivy Jordan dares to include the theme of violence towards women in her story. She is also not making it too dramatic but writes about in a way that you can relate to it and think about it. It is often taboo and therefor well done Ivy Jordan!
Their emotions and chemistry is so great that you just have to cheer for them.
Absolutely recommendable!

Wow - what an emotional book! The author pulls no punches in getting to the truth between Maddie and Isaac, and proves you don't have to know all the facts to really know a person deep down. Isaac is so sweet with her, so tender. He wants only the best for her, despite what it will cost him. The journal he shared with her was just the perfect touch! Maddie knew in her heart that she loved Isaac, even though her memory would tell her something different. Their love was so deep, so true, that all the other stuff just didn't matter anymore. This was a wonderful love story and a clever twist on the usual second-chance romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is a second chance for romance story for a ex-SEAL who has been in love with Maddie since they were kids. He makes his deception to her right from the start of the book. There are a lot emotions that flow through the plot. The writing of the story is so good it just flows having you turn page after page wanting to know what is going to happen next. The characters are well matched and very suited for each other. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy HEA and well built ex-seals. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and this my honest opinion of this book.

Maddie wakes up in a world she doesn't remember, next to a man she can't place. Isaac vowed to protect Maddie, but secretly hopes she doesn't remember the past. Will Isaac be able to protect Maddie from her past? After discovering the truth, will Maddie and Isaac get their happy ever after?

This book was a mix of sweet and rough. Loved how despite the secrets he was keeping, Isaac was a good guy and didn't have nefarious reasons. Maddie definitely wowed me with the fact that after the truth, she was willing to admit her own love and accept his. Good book!

If you have no memory of the past how do you move forward?

I received an ARC for this book.

Isaac and Maddie have known each other since they were children. When they are adults she runs to Isaac for safety when she's in trouble. When she loses her memory in an accident he continues to keep her safe but in the process tells her lies. When she remembers his life comes crashing down. Coming back from that isn't the easiest.

All an all I really enjoyed this book. Ivy author formerly unknown to me, but I will be on the lookout for other books.

I loved this amazing book! It's a very well written, passionate story about second chances and amnesia, domestic abuse and choices, and it is about trust and unconditional love. All characters are believable and deeply developed. The plot is amazing and the execution is great. The storyline is so completely enthralling, I couldn't put this book down. I loved how the story was told and how it unraveled. This is a must read. 5+ stars!

I loved this book! Isaac is doing all he can to protect Maddie from the abusive ex she's running from. He's been in love with her since they were kids, but she's never known it. While she's suffering from amnesia, she falls in love with him, even if it is under false pretenses. Will their love survive the truth? Must read to find out. The seal story was ok but the others at the end are the best!

Ive like a lot of this author’s books but their one wasn’t my favorite mostly because of the odd writing of the sex scenes. They just seemed off. Also, the character may have had good intentions but his behavior just struck me wrong. However there are several really good free stories at the end that were up to the usual expectations I generally have and there’s quite a bit of them!

I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
This story started out great and ended well, but the inbetween left a bit to be desired. It was a bit slow and repetitive for my taste. I found myself frustrated with Isaac. I skimmed over his internal struggle, which unfortunately was a lot. This rated at 3.75.

An extremely well written book with so many different emotions and possible conclusions. The book felt a little long to me, but the characters were so well developed you were right there with them throughout this second chance romance. You really should give this one a read...1-Click today! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and it was a gripping read. Very well done!) ❤️

This book was written in an odd way. It's definitely a romance but written very much like a psychological thriller, it leaves you questioning the hero a lot. You gradually learn more of the hero and his motives and the truth of their background with each other. The happy ending was well deserved.

This is one of those books I normally avoid. The kind that will break your heart and make you cry. I am so glad that I didn't. Well written plot, drama, emotions, endearing characters, makes this an irresistible story you won't want to put down.

I recommend this story.

Amazing fast-paced read. I loved the plot. It was interesting and different. It flowed smoothly throughout the book. I loved the characters who were easily relatable and well-developed. Of course, I didn't agree with Isaac's tactics to keep Maggie. Overall a great read!
