Five years ago an unthinkable tragedy slashed Cait London’s life into two parts: before she had amnesia and after.

Determined to keep her past hidden and start over, she moves to Chicago and plunges into a new job—all while keeping a walled distance from everyone she meets. But it’s not long before Cait reconsiders her solitary existence, and soon she’s stepping beyond her boundaries and taking unthinkable chances, like crushing on her impossibly sexy landlord, Evan Wade. He’s flirty, annoying, and with him living in the same apartment building, she can’t stop thinking about him. If she can sleep with him once, perhaps she can get him out of her system. The problem is, Evan seems bulletproof to her advances. As the two develop a connection, it becomes clear Cait may not succeed before her heart remembers what it feels like to love.

Ten Thousand Points of Light is an immersive contemporary romance about the intensity of first loves, the heartache of loss, and the power of forgiveness.

theres no way i could tell you how i heard about this book or how i even ended up with a copy, not even if you paid me a million dollars. yet here i am, nearly 500 pages later, and so grateful this story somehow mysteriously appeared into my life.

the one major aspect of caits before and after is veryyyy predictable, but that didnt stop me from enjoying this. if anything, it made me more invested. there were even a few moments where i got a little misty eyed. and although i dont think the concept is necessarily original, i feels uniquely executed. the writing is quite lovely and genuine, so that definitely helps.

very happy and pleased with how much i enjoyed this!

So I got this book because one of the reviews said it would make me cry, I needed to work my lacrimal glands so I said why not.

It didn't make me cry , maybe my ducts have atrophied or something. The book was nice though, I thought it was a cute story. I didn't really vibe with the characters but I liked their romance. The end was a bit too rushed for me as well, I thought there was going to be a confrontation with her family but that didn't happen. That left me disappointed.

6++ STARS

My All Time Best Of 2017!! ❤️

Oh Golly!!!

Guys!?!... Girls!?!.... Ladies? Book-friends?

I'm the quiet dork that stalks Book blogs, Goodreads and Amazon- you all know what I'm talking about- because just like you - I'm addicted to books!

And lovelies... This book not only brought me out of my book funk, but also made me write a review after silently scrolling through the all-consuming, overwhelming book world web of reviews, posts and snippets without saying a word since joining the reading force five years ago and since I've found you all!!

Am I ringing any bells?? A shout out to me wouldn't go unappreciated - just kidding- ( not 🙄 ) and today friends... as we can't leave any follower readers behind, I have finally came out to say I have a book recommendation that I'm begging you all to read!!!

This Book

Ten Thousand points of light was so uniquely different from all the others I've read this year, or maybe ever, that I HAD to come out of hiding and express my feelings after reading it.

TTPOL was so beautifully written, with an all consuming love so uniquely profound it was destroy you, put you back together only for it to rip you apart again and again.

The *mystery* was completely mind-boggling as I had no clue where this story was going. I love when an author can do that, causing me to second guess where I thought it was going only to change directions and blow me out of the water with a different route. I had ALOT of ideas where I believed it was heading and was completely thrown off course but in the end couldn't be happier. I love when a book can do that - it's proof that the author is extremely talented with confident writing skills when a book can wrap you around the soul, squeeze your heart and leave you utterly exhausted.

Seriously, you all HAVE to read this beauty- gather everyone and
Start.
This.
Book!

It was undeniably the best book of the year!

Our heroine Cait was so imperfectly perfect! She was strong and determined even after everything she's been through. You learn why she's the way she is as the story unfolds capturing emotions so strong I can't say your eyes won't water.

And Evan -Squeeee!!! Is everything I could ever ask for in a hero

"I have to remind myself I'm nothing to her now, even if she's still, after all these years, everything to me."

Oh my heart ❤️

Do yourself a favour and read this book but Go. In. Blind. Don't let me down friends! Your be hearing a lot - maybe - from me - probably not -

Cheers!

And... Thank you Michelle for pulling me out of my shell and officially giving me the biggest book hangover!

Ten Thousand Points Of Light by Michelle Warren is a creative masterpiece! I just love her writing and this book is her best yet!
The story is about Cait and her life before the tragedy and after the tragedy and how she is trying to heal and cope with new challenges. Cait tries to hide from her past but soon finds her past can't be forgotten.
This book will keep your attention as the mystery unfolds. I could not put this book down because i just had to know what happened?? This book is full of love, loss, intrigue and forgiveness. 5 great big stars!

“I have to remind myself I’m nothing to her now, even if she’s still, after all these years, everything to me.”

Oh my...I don't know where to start with this one, to be completely fair. It started as any other New Adult novel, introducing us to our heroine Cait London (I absolutely love her last name) and her crazy adventurous friend Aggie. Cait is honest with us from the beginning and doesn't hide away the fact that she's suffered from something that caused her to have amnesia. She divides her life into two categories: before and after.

Now, I must admit that as the story progresses on, my mind switched into Sherlock mode and I was trying to understand what happened to her that caused her to lose her memory of her life before the accident. I have to be completely honest and tell you that the mystery keeps the story going. When we learn that Cait lives in a family building owned by her boss' family and that she's crushing on her landlord Evan (the brother of the previously mentioned boss) I get interested because I thought I'd see the slow burn of the romance and that with time, Evan will help her remember.

Imagine how disappointed I was when the story shifts focus and suddenly this little lust Cait is experiencing (there were a couple of very funny but also very steamy scenes, I have to add!) turns into a proper crush. I still move my eyes across the screen, though, absorbing every word as I try to figure out what is so secretive about Evan and his past. What happened to Cait? Was she in a car accident? Did someone hurt her? The mystery kept me going.

When I get to the part about Evan being heartbroken over a girl once upon a time my heart once again broke and I was once again disappointed because I don't really enjoy stories about heroine and hero finding love the second time. I'm more into believing there is such a thing as a soulmate.

Plus, there was a problem of a pretty big insta crush. This annoyed me until...

This is the part where I have to say that there was a voice in the back of my mind telling me a little hint, telling me to think outside the box and the real plot twist envisioned in my mind long before it was revealed in the book. I'm blabbing on about this movie, you see, because this book was done so much better. Michelle Warren chose the perfect moment to insert Evan's story and dear Lord his story broke my heart.

When Evan remembers his girlfriend: from how they met, how they got together until what broke them apart...the whole world outside this book disappears. Every moment he explains every little detail that we as readers maybe didn't notice are now shining right in the middle of the stage and you can't help but to smile as wide as you can because it's such a beautiful sight.

When the event that makes this story as magical as it is first shaped inside my head I wasn't sure how it'd play out. I was worried it would end up being like the movie and that I wouldn't be interested. That all this special time I spent reading this book would have been better used for writing an essay. But like I said, it was such a pleasant surprise.

It is not common to stumble upon a new adult book with characters as beautiful as they are in this story. This is one of the ones I'll carry with me throughout life. Thank you Michelle for creating this magical piece of art.

With the warmest part of my heart I recommend this book to any true romantic that believes in soulmates.

3.5ish-4 stars. This book started off slow for me and it was a little confusing at times. We know something happened to Cait to cause her memory loss but we don't know exactly what. Little by little bits of her past are revealed and eventually everything starts to make sense. It reminded me a lot of the movie The Vow with Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams. Once I got really into it after about 30% or so, I couldn't put it down.

I was pulled into this book almost immediately. I laughed along with Aggie's antics and Cait is just so relatable. Then Evan came into the picture. The end of the book really wrapped up an amazing story! I honestly loved every moment of it. I would love to see Linden get his own story. I can't wait to read more of Michelle's books!

Based on the synopsis, I expected this book to a bit more meat to it than it really does. This is primarily a romance, but I think it could have been much more.

The story is formatted as a "before" and "after" the mysterious event that left main character Cait with no memories of her former life. There is a lot of buildup to a "reveal" - a shocking twist about Cait's pre-incident relationship- that is not at all surprising. I was waiting to have my expectations proven wrong, but everything is obvious from the start. Once all of the answers are on the table, the story rushes through it's conclusion and everything wraps up in a bow.

I enjoyed the author's writing style and elements of her character development, so I may give other books of hers a chance. But ultimately I was let down by this one.

This is another case of "the girl loses her memory and the guy tries to make her fall in love all over again." Its a story that has been overdone one too many times.

None of the characters were problematic. But the reason I give this a one star is because when a book is purely romance, I need the romance to not be insta-lovey. The romance moved too fast for my liking. When the romance is not believable for me, I'm not going to be too emotional over their hardships.

I am reading it the second time around, now that I see the full picture. This must say something about how much I've enjoyed it! 💞

PS: I suspected where it was headed pretty early on, but this fact only made me even more interested in this story, and now I'm happy that I was right.

Wow I really loved that book! Don’t know how I stumbled on it, but I highly recommend it.

plot: Cait had a traumatic event happen five years ago that caused her to lose all her memories from before. A year ago she moved to Chicago for a job and to find herself. This story is about her fighting her demons (reconciling her traumatic past and not remembering), making friends that become her new family, and about her romance with her neighbor/landlord Evan who also had a sad past. There is a “big twist” but it’s obvious from the beginning and honestly why wouldn’t you want it to be because knowing only makes the story better. The last 1/3 of the book is in Evan’s POV (minus the last few chapters).

What I loved about this story was how likeable both the H/h are, how gripping their story/connection was, and how much you felt for them throughout their journey. This book was filled with adorable banter (with call backs through the book making it even more fun) and great teasing scenes between the H/h. There was good angst (but never misplaced or stupid, no slut shaming or acting like idiots, both of them loyal) and the further I went in the story the more invested and in love with them I was. Especially with Evan. Seriously even when he was sorry at the end I felt zero anger towards him and understood his actions the entire time. The ending was cute and comes full circle in the best of ways.

I also really enjoyed the side characters (shout out to Linden the best big brother in the world. I hope he gets his book next). While this was a romance at its core the side stories were compelling as well, and I loved the positive force of friendship/sibling love in this book (they all had each other’s backs).

Overall a strong contemporary romance. Excited to see what else this author is going to write.

POV: first person dual POV (first 2/3 of the book is the heroines POV then 1/3 in the heros pov then a couple chapters at the end again in hers).

I received an ARC for an honest review. What follows is my opinion and no, I wasn't compensated for this review. Unless you consider enjoying a read, but no, there was no monetary compensation.

Releasing today, yes, today, is Michelle Warren's newest book, Ten Thousand Points of Light. This book is a contemporary romance about a woman trying to piece her past and embrace a new future. In the course of this journey, Cait London also attempts to do what she's felt was the impossible . . . seduction.

So, this is going to be one of those cases where I'm going to have trouble not spoiling. If you're wondering why, it's because I really enjoyed this book. The blurb and story point of amnesia makes you feel that this book is going to have a lot of tears, emotions, and be a rather dark read for a romance. That said, it wasn't.

It does have those emotions and possible tears, but the core of the book was filled with smiles and laughter. I found myself cheering on the characters, wanting to be Aggie's best friend, and engulfing the last half of the book in one sitting.

And what more, I want more. I really do. I don't really want or need more of Cait's story, but I want to know more about the supporting cast. They didn't feel cookie cutter. They felt real. All of the characters. This is a book that has the fluff, the soul, and the heart of a good read. I would recommend this for my mom (who I don't usually have books for to recommend).

Michelle Warren, you have mastered the contemporary romance with this. I thought I loved your Seraphina Parrish Trilogy (young adult time travel, a must read for YA fans), but you have proved me that it isn't just those books. I think you are going to be an instabuy for me. My poor, poor wallet.

Cait London has started over. Five years ago after a tragedy her life has been divided into two parts: Before amnesia and after. She’s excelling at her new job even though she has been keeping to herself. Suddenly, she starts taking chances. Cait decides to flirt with her sexy landlord, Evan Wade, who seems to run hot and cold. A client tries to persuade her to start something romantically. And for some odd reason, she starts getting glimpses of the incident that changed her life forever.

“I know it won't happen overnight, but it's a spark of a flame I want to burn so bright no darkness from before remains. Even though it shouldn't, this search for newness heightens my interest in Evan. I experience the most when I'm with him, positive or negative. And I confess, I want more of it.”

This emotional story made me feel so many things. It was just so beautifully told and made me feel like I was inside Cait’s shoes. Scared of remembering. Scared of not remembering. And so, so confused. I got butterflies when she decided to take a chance on loving again. Or perhaps for the first time in her mind. Cait truly is incredibly brave. It’s so scary to trust people with your secrets and overcoming the loss of memory. I can’t imagine the fear of panic attacks and not knowing what might set them off. And Evan! OMG…what a perfect man to take a chance on. To make that leap. I cried when I read his story as well. What a remarkable, twisted story. I just really fell in love with how everything developed and where it all ended up.

This was my first book by Michelle Warren and I know I will be reading many more books by this author. I loved her writing style and can’t wait to see what I find next to read from her.

okay, so in the first half of the book, it wasn't bad, it's just that I've read a couple other books like it where the girl goes through a tragic life altering event and meets a boy with his own baggage and finds a way to make it work. what I didn't expect was for HIS BAGGAGE TO BE THE SAME BAGGAGE AS HERS. As soon as the POV switched and went back in time, I went from not being super invested in their relationship to praying to God that they made it. Because I was seriously rooting for Evan when he was simping over Cait for the first time. And when the tragedy happened, I really teared up a bit because it was so devastating knowing what the result would be. Michelle Warren did a good job by flipping the narrative to show us the future/present first, and then explaining the past. It really made it hit that much harder. I was really rooting for this couple, something that I don't really care to do in romances since I find them to be so lusty these days (though that may be due to my poor taste). This one was enjoyable, and really has me thinking: how many more tragedies to there need to be before the states does something about gun control, rather than endlessly debating it back and forth.

I really loved the storyline of Ten Thousand Points of Light and the way it was written. I really feel like the author did a wonderful job capturing the emotions of what the main character was feeling as her life was divided between before the tragedy and after the tragedy.

Cait was such an enjoyable character that went through a lot in her life. I really felt for her with the way that she was trying to work out her life.

Evan I absolutely adored and I found that he was a strong character that completely loved Cait so much.

Ten thousand points of light is about Cait whose life is dived between before the tragedy and after the tragedy. She cannot remember anything that happened in her life before the tragedy and tries to move on with her life despite not knowing her past. Then comes Evan who instantly captures her attention.

I loved the relationship between the two characters and they had so much chemistry between them. This story has a lot of emotion throughout it and had many twists. This is a definite book that everyone should read because it will completely capture your attention.

I was lucky enough to get an advance copy of this beautiful book. The cover is stunning, isn't it? When Michelle showed me the cover and blurb, I knew I had to get my greedy hands on it. I'm a huge fan of hers. Love her writing. Love her storytelling. Love her covers. (Great. Now you know I'm a cover snob).
So, let's talk about this one. It's deep, y'all. The story follows Cait (love the unique spelling) and Evan (I have a major crush on him). I love their banter... the obvious sexual chemistry and attraction. Cait suffers from amnesia and can't remember her life before --- intriguing, right? Well, there are some twists and turns in this novel that surprised me. The kind of surprises that make you go, "Oh, man, I need to keep reading this to see what happens!" Then, there are some touching moments. Moments when your eyes well up with tears because that is how Warren is - she just makes you cry. Sobbed with He + She. Cried with this one, too. A good cry, though.
I highly recommend this, but then again, I highly recommend all of Warren's books. She is amazing.

Ten Thousand Points of Light was so great! The characters felt so real. The story was completely engrossing with a twist I never guessed until the author wanted me to and then I was blown by away by it. The main character is Cait and she suffers from amnesia after a traumatic event we learn about little by little as she remembers small pieces. As she struggles to function each day, putting on a mask of normalcy, she begins to crush on her cocky neighbor and landlord Evan, but because she’s so broken, all she wants is one night with him. She can’t handle more. At least that’s what she thinks. But she soon comes to realize it’s not enough. The problem is, Evan has secrets of his own, heartbreaks he won’t talk about. The push and pull between them kept me riveted to each page, rooting for them, trying to guess their secrets, wishing for their happy ending because they’re just so great together.

Ten Thousand Points of Light is a cleverly woven story with so many layers. It’s also a mystery and a beautiful romance. I’m betting this book tops my list of favorites for 2017!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Gosh I’ve been in such a book funk. September marks the last month where I felt ALL IN with a SJM release. Everything else has been similar story lines or worse, writing that did not hook me.

Which brings me back to this book - eeeee, YES! I had all the butterflies and a few squares too. And please, do yourself a favor and do not read any spoilers. I’m being vague on purpose. Do I think you’ll figure it out? Yes. BUT, I think everyone should feel the feels with no expectations.

THANK YOU Michelle for officially making me excited about something I’m reading.

It’s funny, I bought this book around 8:30 PM last night and finished it this morning at 1:45 AM. Not sure how this happened, but I wasn’t even tired for work! I’m on a book high!!!

Eeeeee! Perfecfo! Anyway, this author’s writing brightened my night and day. Why aren’t more people reading this novel? I need to spread the word ASAP!

I can’t wait for the next story in the series. One last thing - sign up for her newsletter so you have access to chapter 60!

Wow. What can I say about this book. I really enjoyed Cait's journey in this story. Something happens to Cait where she had retrograde amnesia. She is stuck in this after stage of her life. She has no memories of her life before. This book is hard to review without spoilers but as Cait learns about her life so do we as the reader. Cait tries to close herself off from everything and everyone. Her after life is filled with doubts and insecurities. Luckily she has people in her life that refuse to let her live that way and little by little she becomes who she was before. This book is about love, loss and finding love again. I was so hooked into this book I was sneak reading at work. I really hope you choose to go on this journey with Cait and read this book. This is a recommended read from me.

I saw a post asking to describe your current read in three words and this is what I have to say about Ten Thousand Points of Light: Brilliant and emotional.

The imagery in Michelle’s writing made me long for more. With each turn of the page I was sucked into this world longing to know more just like Cait. I wanted to finish the story but I didn’t want to be done with them. I’m so happy to see that she plans to write about the other characters as I hope to get a glimpse of Evan and Cait within the other stories.

And Evan…what is there to say but that I wish every woman had a man love her like he did Cait.

I’ve been a fan of Michelle’s books since she moved out of YA and she will forever be a must-read author for me. She has captured my heart with these two. I never want to let them go.

Omg! This story is everything you ever wanted rolled into one! Michelle, who I am proud to call a friend, is a brilliant writer with a heart as big as Lake Michigan. ( had to include your fav ) A love story that begins with two college kids and ends years later after tragedy struck and kept them apart. Evan is hot, kind, and smart and for 3 years he and Cait are happy. A crazy man with a gun changes everything and things go south. Cait's parents don't want her with Evan and she doesn't remember their past. Second chances, love everlasting, and a bit of hotness... The perfect book. Can't wait for more. A beautiful lady wrote a beautiful story. Read it people!!!

Ten Thousand Points of Light

Simply one of the best books. The beginning for me started off a little slowly, as I had a little trouble warming up to Cait. After a few chapters, I finally got that this was one broken women, barely living. Enter her handyman Evan, and well, things started to move in the right direction for me as a reader. Loved these two, how they interacted and their relationship with those around them. This book had a twist that I was not expecting, but really made it so hard to put down that I read well past my normal bedtime. I am so glad that this is the first book in the series, I'm looking forward to Linden and Viv's story---hint, hint, this is the book that should be written next Michelle;)

What a great love story! It’s about Cait and her life before the tragedy and after the tragedy and how she is trying to heal and cope while living with amnesia. Then there’s her hot landlord, Evan! Cait doesn’t know if she should continue to keep to herself and ignore Evan’s flirting or take her crazy best friend Addie’s advice and go for it. I really enjoyed many of the secondary characters too.

Lots of heartbreak and sadness but also lots of fun and happy moments. Even though you can quickly figure out where the story is going, you really want to know the mystery of what happened.

This story was so much more than I was expecting. Cait and her landlord/handyman Evan have been flirting for a while. Cait knows that something happened to her but she isn’t sure of the details and she doesn’t remember her past from the “before”. She isn’t sure why she is drawn to Evan but after being with him, we learn his side of the story which is achingly beautiful. I found myself rooting for them, hard.

The characters are very real and the interactions are heartfelt. Their connection is soul deep. I am in love with this story and the characters. I can’t wait to read more.
