In Terms of Basketball Books this is easily one of my favorite reads. Isiah Thomas takes us to the 1988 NBA Finals. Were the Pistons were robbed in game 7 against the LA Lakers. Up to that point the Pistons were labeled as the “Bad Boys” in hindsight that image cost them the Finals with a bad call that went im favor to the Lakers.
The very next season the work began for redemption.
We Follow I.T and the Pistons as they look to win their first ever NBA Championship in Detroit. I really enjoyed the detailed Stats/Stories as the Regular season unfolded. Atlanta was considered title contenders up to that point but soon we found out that the biggest challengers that year were Cleveland as they battled for the Central Division against the Pistons & the NY Knicks who went undefeated against the Bad boys during the regular season. Through out the book we also can find Player introductions that are detailed reports regarding the Players Stats, Nickname, DOB, Draft class ETC.
That was a really neat touch. I also really enjoyed reading the hard fought journey of the Regular season that leads up to the Playoffs. They were able to clinch the #1 seed that year. On to the playoffs
First round the mighty Celtics, No problem,Sweep.
Second round the Bucks , another sweep
They did face challenges against MJ & his Bulls but up to that point they weren’t the Dynasty Bulls from the 90s and were defeated in 6 Games.
Up next a Rematch against the LA Lakers. You could call it that but i prefer to call it “ Sweet, Sweet Redemption”
The Pistons took the brutal loss from previous year and used it as motivation to defeat the defending champs in a good ole SWEEP! ! !
Crowing Joe Dumar as Finals MVP & Detroit taking home their first ever Larry O’Brien trophy.
I highly HIGHLY recommend this to any Detroit Sports fan. Incredible book. GO PISTONS !

If you are a Detroit basketball lover this book is for you. Isiah Thomas tells us the journey of the 1988-89 Detroit Pistons through playoffs to the finals. Isiah also explains to the reader how hard the NBA finals were against the Las Angeles Lakers. Another nice thing about the book is there are pages for players and it shows all their stats which can be useful. BAD BOYS! really gets into detail about the whole 88-89 season and explains key moments to the games. Although this book is old I would recommend this to others who care for the Detroit Pistons franchise.

I think this book was a very good book. The book is about the 1989 NBA championship team of the Detroit Pistons. With there journey to an NBA championship. I liked this book a lot because it gave a lot of detail from Isaiah Thomas. And what his teammates though about the journey to the championship. If you like basketball and a good non-fiction book than this is a book for you.
