About the author

Robert J. Brunner

1 book3 followers
Bob Brunner has worked as a police dispatcher and 911-operator for multiple agencies. He has seen people at their worst, and their best. He has comforted the victim, and engaged with the suicidal. He has testified at trial, and heard a man’s last words.

He lives in the city he dispatches for and knows more about his neighbors than he should.

He has written all his life. He is probably working on something now.

I don't often find a book that stays with me even when I am not reading it. This is one of those books that you just can't put down. If you like Stephen King, Dean Koontz or Neil Gaiman then you will fall in love with this book. I have found a new author to add to my favorites, I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading more from Robert Brunner.

Do more research

The authors lack of knowledge about the Norse Gods made his choice of antagonists laughable. It's as if he did his research on Norse Gods in a christian fundamentalist text about prison gangs. Very poorly done. The premise had promise, but the execution was horrific

Riveting first novel by an author I'll be keeping on my radar for suspense/horror/thriller works. A true page turner, it kept me reading long after I should have gone to bed. Full of unexpected twists, character insights, and a prose style that puts the reader right in the scene, visually, aurally, and creepily. Can't wait for the next one.

Monsters

I enjoy monster stories when the writer builds strong characters. This is a traditional horror story well done. Quick, fun read.
