good primer. i'll never remember all the names, but 3/4 the way through, i have a deepening appreciation for Kabbalah and a much better general understanding. thinking i'd like to get into the Zohar a bit...
the author doesn't get his hands dirty with opinion and speculation, and it's kind a good thing here. he presents a bit of biographical information and then a sampling of the work of dozens of Kabbalistic masters.
i'd recommend it. but not if i had to pay the price listed on the back of my volume. it came to me through a friend. the price tag is over $100. good read, though.
