Seduced by Fire is the third book in the thrilling and passionate Dragons of Bloodfire series by bestselling author Erin Kellison.
Dragon shifter Ryder Magnus is living a lie. In order to search for lost and forgotten treasure, he lives secretly among humans, posing as a professor of antiquities. When his cover is blown—in front of a classroom of students, no less—he is determined to find the Bloodkin responsible and make them pay.
Bloodkin Aura Ortiz is in a race against time. She must find the powerful Bastard’s Eye before it falls into the wrong hands. When a viral video surfaces of Ryder, smoking with anger and on the verge of a shift, she can’t believe her luck. No one hunts treasure better than he does. If he won’t do it for friendship—that had gone up in flames years ago—will he do it for vengeance?
Aura gets under Ryder’s skin like no other woman—she always has. Their collaboration re-ignites old passions and sets Ryder on a hunt of his own…Aura herself.
As they delve deeper into darkness, their adversaries multiply. Knowing whom to trust is the difference between life and death. Can they put the past behind them and blaze a trail through danger to forge a future together?
Erin Kellison writes epic romantic fantasy where gods meddle, magic has a price, and love defies every power that seeks to control it.
She is the author of the Indulgence Series, an epic romantic fantasy saga, as well as the Shadow Series, the Dragons of Bloodfire Series, and the Reveler Series. Her stories are known for their layered mythology, dangerous worlds, and emotionally intense romance woven through sweeping arcs.
Erin lives with her family in sunny Arizona, where she spends much of her time imagining other worlds.
These dragon bloodkin books don't hit my kindle frequently but when they do I stop everything and get comfortable ready to see what they are up to now. I loved that this time I was completely surprised by just how many dragons the author gave us plus she's expanded her spider like vampire idea and even upped the ante by adding werewolves! Although best of all had to be the fact that not only is our book obsessed hero Ryder a dragon but so too is the heroine Aura so I truly went in with no idea what to expect. This followed on quite nicely from previous books with situations and characters appearing but with a surprising twist. Ryder has history with Aura but it's not exactly straightforward and Aura has kept a huge secret from not just Ryder but the other bloodkin as well! It's a secret that is coming back to haunt Aura and she really needs the help of someone who really knows their way around treasure hunting and of course that leads her quite nicely to Ryder. Ryder is not happy that his privacy has been invaded, he's made a comfortable life for himself and yes he's even taken to a few humans! Now saddled with a motley crew as support he starts to realise that nothing is exactly what he previously believed and this time he will do whatever it takes to keep Aura. Oh this was good and I think for me it was the unusual cast of characters that helped set it apart. These are fiery dragons but funnily enough it wasn't the romance that grabbed me but the adventures they go on and if you enjoy action and drama then trust me this treasure hunt ticks all the boxes. I really like this series even though admittedly they are quite quick reads but as this story ends it looks like the bloodkin whilst still arrogant and set in their ways just might start to move forward and I for one cannot wait to read what happens next. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirement for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion
So this book I thought was longer. And then I checked where I was. 75% mark.
So I revise my previous statement, It wasn't longer. It was just as short.
This is just cruel! These small doses are gonna kill me and I'm already done with the series to date!
I think this book was my least favourite in terms of the romance but I liked that it had a plot. I didn't get to see as much of Aura or Ryder as I wanted, I can't say I know them and that really was the worst thing. I wanted more character exploration and interactions. There really just wasn't enough romance.
Unremarkable and flat. The plot had grandiose ideas that failed to deliver. It had second chance romance, always tricky in itself, a heartrending dilemma that was never felt, and a very unlikeable heroine. -Second chance are tricky because the reader is left to do with echoes of a story past, so unless those echoes are pretty powerful waves, you are left cold. Here I was freezing. There were no echoes at all. All of a sudden, middle way, I'm told they both loved/love-mated each other. But she loved her husband soo, no. Err, what? -The plot revolves around a very tough story, that never was. Again, I'm supposed to feel her pain, but I simply can't. You haven't given me feelings, but words on a page. -The heroine at the beginning of the book wasn't very likeable to me, and her back story and future actions didn't change my mind on her. The final battle was a WTF moment for me, too. She kills all, and I mean all, life in a mile radius, except her friends because author (otherwise the story hasn't much sense, they made camp more than a mile from the cave?), and then, what? Had her conscience wake up? Decided otherwise? No idea. Pity, I loved book one, but each sequel was a little less good to me.
I enjoyed the first two books in this series, but this one was a disappointment.
It started off well enough. Ryder was a powerful Bloodkin who lived among humans as an absent-minded professor whose hoard was books and who rescued stray wolfkin orphans on the side. His relationship with his human friends, looking through dragon eyes but trying to understand humans, was really fun. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. Aura, the heroine, had little to recommend her except for her supposedly incredible beauty. She lied, manipulated, and had the emotional range of a potted plant. I never quite believed Ryder and Aura's professed lust, much less love for each other, and the whole business of Aura choosing Ryder's half human friend instead of her supposed fated mate and then avoiding him for a hundred years after her husband's death never rang true.
I think this was at least in part because Kellison wanted to portray the two as non-human in their thoughts and relationships. As Ryder noted, “Bloodkin engaged in a formal courtship that was more a negotiation of assets and compatibility than what humans called being in a relationship. Love was incidental." Unfortunately, it was so incidental as virtually to be absent which made it rather sterile to this very human reader.
Add to this that the antagonist was more petulant brat than worthy foe, the quest was idiotic , and the story just fell completely flat.
I do like this world, though, and will look for the next book in the series, hoping it has some of the fun and likeable characters found in the earlier books but regrettably absent in this one.
3.5 stars rounded to 4 Third installment in the Dragons of Bloodfire. It’s supposed to be read as a standalone but I truly think you need to read the series in order to thoroughly enjoy this book although that’s not completely necessary. As great as life may be for any Bloodkin (dragon) that has amassed a great fortune over the years, the fact that they are still different from any other human being makes for a very complicated life. Shifters, werewolves, vampires and other creatures are out and humans are not very accepting of them so they tend to stay hidden as much as possible. There are some evil creatures that actually want to take over the world and Aura becomes involved in one of their evil schemes.
Mack is a very powerful and ancient dragon shifter that’s left his dragon life behind in exchange for a more calm and confined “normal” life as a college professor. It might not be as luxurious as it could have been if he lived as any other Bloodkin but his love for books and antiquities has made him more accommodating over the years. He and Bloodkin Aura were friends less than a century ago but circumstances separated them and now she is back in his life, asking for his help and rekindling old romantic flames.
I think I’m a little biased when it comes to this author because whenever I start reading any of her books I’m already thinking I’m going to like it. Her narrative depicts quite a unique imagery; she’s got such a gift for creating the most fantastic worlds capable of transporting me to whatever place she’s decided to create. And although her dragon shifters are not the “sexiest” I’ve ever read, they are by far the most intriguing, interesting, and complex beings– when I say sexiest I mean they are not out looking to mate and claiming to be the best lovers ever, thank goodness- They even behave like true dragons, with hoards and all and with a folklore all of their own.
Aura and Mack set out to retrieve some sort of artifact that according to myth it could empower any normal human and enslave the rest of humanity. Aura needed that artifact to ensnare something –or someone- that had escaped her a long time ago and trap it again. She was keeping her own agenda secret but whatever it was Mack was sure she’d confide in him with the right incentive. He wasn’t exactly in love with her but had had feelings for her since the day she met her. I don’t think this one is the most romantic story of the series however what I liked the most here was the honesty between Aura and Mack when it came to their feelings and the quest all the characters set out to find the artifact. One thing I didn’t like much was that the ending felt somewhat contrived and too lenient for the main villain of the story.
It’s always a pleasure to return to this world and will be looking forward for the next installment.
I voluntarily read this book and my opinion here is my own.
Excellent read. This series is one of my favorites. Dragons, I hope this is not the last. Intrigue, humor, romance and betrayal, the story moves along, keeping the readers interest to the end. Well worth the time spent.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest and voluntary review. I was in no way compensated for this review.
Erin Kellison’s Seduced by Fire is the third book in the Dragons of Bloodfire series! In this one, we once again meet new characters and set off on a different adventure as well. Though the theme does seem to be about meeting the dragon who will be the third and final member of the Triad.
Here we meet Ryder, a dragon, who while teaching his class one day had a bit of an episode. He was overtaken by a memory from his past except when he was seeing it, he noticed an interloper. Someone had entered the past to observe a meeting he had with a few other dragons. And it was while this was happening, he lost control of his dragon side and naturally, several of his students started to record his outburst. They are calling him a wolf, which he finds a bit insulting, nevertheless there’s a problem at hand.
Then we have Aura, another dragon, who’s in a bit of a bind as well. Her mother-in-law, Xanthippe, still blames Aura for her son’s death. Alexander wasn’t a full-blooded dragon, yet he and Aura married anyway. Then he died in an accident, one that Xanthippe blames Aura for full-heartedly. But Aura’s main problem is a shadow creature that’s been chasing her. She needs to find the Bastard’s Eye—a powerful stone—that can help put an end to all her troubles. Except, she doesn’t know where to find it. And Ryder happens to be an expert treasure hunter.
Aura manages to convince Ryder to help her find the Eye. They pick up a few tagalongs in the form of a teenage wolfkin who came looking to Ryder hoping the rumors were true, and Ryder’s coworker plus his family in tow as they set off to find the clues that will eventually lead them to the Eye. Needless to say this was quite the adventure story.
I think a part of my issue with this series so far is that each book has totally new characters. Now we do get glimpses of our heroes and heroines from the past two books, but that’s it. And since I don’t know if there’s a fourth book to come at the moment, I’m not sure if we interacted with the next possible couple. Basically, what I am saying is, that we deal with new characters each and every time. Even if we get some sort of mentioning of them in the previous book, it’s been so long I can’t quite remember. This basically results with me starting the next book in the series like it’s a first book each and every time. And that can be sort of mind-boggling. I feel like that since this is a series that there should be more continuity. Don’t get me wrong, I can sense that we have some. There’s brief flashes in my memory that says, “oh yes, I remember you and this!” but it’s rare. I’m hoping that since we seem to be getting the Triad kicking into full swing, what with two out of the three members accounted for, that soon the stories will seem to flow more together. I just wish that all the characters would interact more than they do, I feel like my memory would be able to piece things together more easily.
I liked the romance that was brewing between Aura and Ryder as well. They have a bit of past and even though Aura’s husband died many years ago, there’s still quite a load of obstacles that these two must overcome. Although I can’t help but wish that the romance could’ve been a bit more slow-burn than it was. It was still a hot, swoony romance, I just tend to enjoy a slow-burning one more! But I guess since I got that in the last two books, I can’t complain that much!
There were quite a few surprises in this one! There were shocking reveals, ultimate twists, and stunning revelations! It was a head-spinner, but in a good way! While I did struggle a bit with this story, I am still enjoying this series! Dragons are so freaking awesome and Erin Kellison’s dragons fit that bill as well! I feel like we have just barely scratched the surface in this world that she has built and I cannot wait to see what’s in store next!
While this is a series and I would highly suggest reading them in order, I think you could pretty much dive in at any point. So far we’ve encountered three different couples and there’s only snatches of continuity trends going on. You’ll know of who’s with who and who has certain abilities and that kind of thing, but there are no major spoilers to my knowledge. I have the faintest inkling of who might be our next couple and I’m curious to see if it pans out! I definitely cannot wait for the next book in this series. If you love dragons and are looking for the next hot paranormal read, this is it!
Overall Rating 3.75/5 stars—yup, awkward rating again! Almost a four star read, but my own memory issues and bit of a busy day in between reading spurts kind of made it hard to follow at times.
This was quite a lengthy and exceptionally complex story that involved various people in the plot that all have a valid contribution to the overall story. As their parts intermingle the story comes alive and makes for an extremely intriguing read.
Dragon Lord Ryder “Mack” Magnus has, for the past 15-years, held his identity secret from the human world, posing as Dr. Ted Harrison, a professor of ancient history; even counting Walter and Jenny as his closest human friends. When a Tempus from the present day crosses his path in the past, he relives an event that occurred 40-years before. This sets in motion an unbelievable journey to find the Bastard’s Eye. Aura had given birth to a psychopath wanting to rule human kind; she locks him away when he begins to hurt people, until one day he escapes. If not for shadow, he would still be locked away. Aura has been pursuing him ever since, without success. Xanthippe, Aura’s deranged mother-in-law, wants her dead, believing she killed her son, Alexander, stole from her and murdered her family, but is unaware she has a grandson, Aura having kept his existence a secret from her. Now, together with Ryder, Aura is taking a group of innocents on a perilous quest into a long lost and very likely booby-trapped Bloodkin hoard. Ryder is prepared to help Aura find the Eye, not realising her true intent. It is all about getting the Eye before her son did; he has too much Dragon in him. Ryder has loved Aura for over 100-years and now he has found her again he contemplates a future with her; but Aura is still stuck in the past, and both are keeping secrets. An excellent story and one that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this book. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Ryder “Mack” Magnus is a Bloodkin, a royal Midnight dragon lord. Under the guise of Dr. Ted Harrison, he works as a professor of ancient history. Ryder accidentally half-transformed in front of a roomful of human students. To escape the aftermath of his blown cover, he reluctantly agrees to aid Aura in her treasure-hunting scheme. On the adventure, Ryder discovers the reason behind her need for obtaining the priceless Bloodkin artifact. Will Ryder be smart enough to locate the long-lost Bastard’s Eye’s location? Can Ryder convince Aura that they do have a future together? Aurelia “Aura” Ortiz is a Bloodkin Sun dragon. She searches for a legendary dragon artifact while evading her son and her insane former mother-in-law. Aura approaches the only man who could possibly help find the fabled Bastard Eye. She refuses to tell Ryder the truth behind her desperate need of the artifact. Trouble threatens the rag-tag treasure hunters. Can Aura successfully keep the Eye from falling into enemy hands? What is Aura willing to sacrifice on this perilous hunt? I love how Ryder prefers to spend his time around humans than with his own kind. He acknowledges and admires them for their unique limitations and outlook of the world. Ryder behaves antisocially, but he allows only certain people close. He shows such concern and thoughtfulness to those allotted few’s happiness and future. What I adore the most about Ryder is how he saves an orphan wolf Bloodkin during the chaotic upheaval of his life. I love the creativity the author put into Aura’s dragon type, especially the detailed strengths and weaknesses associated with the sun. I could not help but feel for Aurelia. Throughout the story, she proves the lengths a mother is capable of when it comes to their children. I admire Aura’s determination and resolution to keep her son from committing further trouble. For all her faults, she demonstrates such thoughtful kindness towards Ryder’s human friends and the orphaned Bloodkin he took in. SEDUCED BY FIRE is book three in Erin Kellison’s paranormal series, DRAGONS OF BLOODFIRE. I like how the book’s beginning overlaps a certain occurrence in AWAKENED BY FIRE, book two in the series, divergent on Ryder and Aura’s reaction to the event. I especially love the return of a couple familiar characters from the prior books. SEDUCED BY FIRE is a thrilling tale of two dragons finding one another again for a chance of happiness and love. I love how Ryder and Aura’s “right person, wrong time” relationship turns into the right time. I cannot wait to see who will be in the next installment. Review to come of Romance Junkies
Bloodkin Ryder Magnus one of the most powerful of his kind has waited almost 100 years for his soulmate to acknowledge that they are, from the first day his human best friend Alexander introduced him to his bloodkin wife Aurelia Ortiz. He fought his dragon against the desire he had to murder his best friend for his mate.
All these years he has lived among the humans without a shift as a professor. Now Aura is back in his life needing his help and he has no intentions of letting her slip away from this time. But Aura carries a secret going back almost 100 years from when Alexander plunged to his death. Will her deep secret tear them apart forever, or bring them together as they should have been years ago?
This was not at all what I had expected after the epic love between Samantha and Warrik. This was an understated and quiet love. Understated? Quiet? With dragons larger than life???
Nope. That didn't work for me at all.
Sure, the writing is great and the world building continues to be awesome with this series. But...the pairing of Ryder and Aura was lackluster. I didn't feel any true passion between them. They were both waaay too controlled and rational.
I hope the next book goes back to the epic love she did so well in previous books in the series.
This is a wonderful standalone addition to the Dragons of Bloodfire series, one that kept me guessing about the female lead unit well into the story. It is well written, with three dimensional characters and an exciting storyline. It reminds me of latter books in the Reveler series, which are intricate, thrilling, and suspenseful with a dark, haunting quality.
Dragon Lord "Mack" Magnus has spent the past fifteen years incognito as a college professor. "Ted" has a few close friends and a hoard of books, along with a simple life away from dragonkin. That's until a Tempus, a time walker, visits a scene forty years in the past and blows "Mack's" cover in front of a classroom full of students with cell phones.
Aura, a Sun Dragoness, has been searching for Lord Magnus to help in her quest to locate an ancient and powerful artifact. At one time they were friends when her husband was alive. After Alexander's death, however, she cut herself off from the Dragon world. But now a Shadow has breached the hordes of several dragons attempting to locate and acquire "the eye", which will give the possessor unimaginable power. Aura can't let that happen. And while she has to get to the eye first, she also has to avoid her mother-in-law, an ancient mad dragoness who blames her for Alexander's death and who wants her dead. Then she sees a viral video of a shifter almost losing control in front of a college classroom and recognizes the male the news claims is a wolf shifter. Now she knows where he is. All she has to do is to get him to help, without telling him why.
I received a prerelease copy of this book without expectation for review. The opinions expressed here are voluntary and my own.
The Good - Ryder is such a good guy and he truly loves Aura. The fact that their love had to wait for so long makes it that much more romantic. I enjoyed the word play between the humans and "Ted" - Grace is a HOOT! I hope since we see so much of Locke and Gutter in this story, they will have their own stories soon. I liked that this story builds off of Warrick and Samantha and we got to see them a time or two.
The Bad - I can't say I'm a huge fan of Aura, she kinda reminded me of Mary from Downton Abbey - she's not horrible but could easily be fickle. I never could decide if I liked Oscar or not - I understand his motives though I'm not a "the end justifies the means" kinda person.
The Ugly - I never felt satisfied in that I "know" the characters. I re-read Warrick and Samantha's story before reading this one and there is so much character development that you get a real sense of them and who they are, but I never felt that way about Ryder and Aura. I never got truly invested in them because I never got to know them. It all felt very rushed.
Overall I would recommend this story, this series, and definitely this author to everyone. Her worlds are just fantastic places to be!
Hoo-BOY! I'd forgotten just how SMOKIN' HOT these dragons were. Yes, pun intended. Oh, hush. It had to be said. Once I get it out of my system the review flows better. (HA! Who am I kidding? I plan on punning my way through this and all other reviews in the foreseeable future. *finger guns everyone*)
Speaking of foreseeable things--actually, speaking of past things. Hold up. Let me start over. I'd forgotten about the problems Samantha caused for Ryder when she tripped through time in the last book. Considering he was pretending to be a human and keeping his draconic abilities hidden, this causes a wealth of problems for him. Namely, he can no longer teach and he could lose the friendship of the people he's surrounded himself with over the years. Which, needless to say, does not make him a very happy dragon.
And unhappy dragons have a tendency to cause fiery problems. Especially when the person he blames trips up to his door to present him with yet another layer of issues he needs to work through.
Sexual tension, man. It tangles up everything.
Eventually things get straightened out (more or less) and Ryder, Aura, and a rather unlikely support crew set out to find some treasure. Treasure with other interested parties after it. Treasure that REALLY can't fall into the wrong hands.
Solid story, steamy sexy times (literally, at one point), and a nice resolution to an old problem. These dragons might be old and sometimes cranky, but they're slowly moving into the future. Sometimes it just takes a really big push to get that forward momentum going.

While this is the third book in the series and like all series best if you read them all you can read this as a stand alone book without constantly thinking you've missed something.
Ryder has been living as a human teacher for the past 15 years. He's got friends who know him only as 'Ted' at least that he has up until a timewalker causes him to loose control in the middle of a lecture. He's fortunate enough not to do a full shift but the partial shift has confused people enough they think he's a wolf shifter and descend on his house in a Mob. Aura catches up with him there as he is deciding where to go. While Aura has secrets she is not going to reveal Ryder can't help but be drawn to help her in her treasure hunt. Not only that but his closest human friends prove they are true friends intend and do not bat an eyelid that he is actually a dragon.
Erin Kellison has once again crafted another compelling bloodkin story. The characters are not stagnant but grow and develop through the story and the world crafting is subtly done.I recommend these stories to anyone who enjoys urban fantasy.
I'm having a really hard time rating this book. I keep going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. If 3.5 was an option I would pick that.
Let me start by saying that the plot is excellent with twists that keep the story interesting. I missed the second book in this series (not sure how) and it didn't seem like there are gaps in the plot so I would say you could read this as a stand alone without confusion by not reading the previous two books.
The part I didn't like was the character relationship development. The characters individually are fairly well developed, but the relationships between them are told and you just don't feel it when you read it. This is especially true between Ryder and Aura. It just doesn't feel like there is more than a spark and lust between them. The real meat of the relationship seems to be missing. It just doesn't feel like they are really in love. Walter and Jenny seem like they are really in love but not the main characters.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Like the Reveler Series each book in the Bloodfire Clan is a little edgier, gritty and much more complex. Seduced by Fire, book three in the series by Erin Kellison is a prime example of this with characters’ secret agendas, others living incognito, then adding different paranormal creatures on a huge treasure quest. Then there is the heart stopping romance that makes this one a thrilling read. No one writes quite like Erin Kellison, so I always find the solid but intricate plot, iconic characters, riveting action and cunning evil are a pleasurable thinker’s read. Seduced by Fire probably would be fine as a stand-alone read but I have never been able to read just one book in a series by this author. The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book.
Love the Dragons and the Bloodkin books that Erin Kellison shares. She is a master of the paranormal trip. Hiding as a University Professor Dragon Lord Ryder "Mack" Magnus is called Ted by his close friend and colleague Dr. Walter Burton. Living in the human world has a shelf life since dragons don't age. Fifteen years has endeared the Burton family to Ted and so they have been given secret riches without their knowledge. While conducting a lecture an unveiling goes viral that reveals Ted in his altered form. Well almost. Everyone thinks he is a werewolf. This results in a quest for the Eye; a treasure hidden with magical powers. A group of amazing characters join Magnus and so we meet more Bloodkin, a vampire and a werewolf. Romance delayed for close to a hundred years is also in the mix along with this amazing adventure. Stand-alone read with a HEA. "A copy of this book was provided by author with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and my comments here are my honest opinion/."
I loved this. The best one in the series by far. Adventure, intrigue, action and some romance. The mix of characters, and twists and turns, were great. Definitely one for paranormal fans.
Truthfully, this was not my favorite book in this series. As I'd mentioned in my review of the previous book, I caught a Kindle/Audible deal so I grabbed the three books currently available in this series. I liked Ryder Magnus, the hero, for the most part. The idea of a 600 year-old dragon teaching history and classics on the subject of dragon hordes and treasure hunting while masquerading as a human is a great premise. Aura Ortiz, the dragon heroine, was once married to the human son of Xanthippe, a member of the ruling Triad who carries a grudge against Aura. This book is far more closely tied to the events in book 2, AWAKENED BY FIRE than AWAKENED was to the first book, TEMPTED BY FIRE. That said, one of the secondary characters from TEMPTED was a secondary character in this book and perhaps Locke will get his own story eventually. Overall, this was an enjoyable read though there was a lot of internal dialogue during periods of action that slowed the pace. There were some touching moments in the book and I laughed a time or two. There's a mystery, dragon craziness, an orphan wolf shifter, and interesting secondary characters with an Indiana Jones-esque flavor. Worth reading to stay in the series but I wouldn't suggest starting with this one. The reader needs at least the backstory from AWAKENED to get all the nuances.
***"A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion” ***
Truly fantastic read! Erin gives me something different with each of these books. This book is powerful, emotional, full of deception, hate, loathing, betrayal, and loyalty. I feel dragged into her stories everytime.
I'm not big on spoilers, and you can get a storyline synopsis anywhere. However, if you want to know if this is worth reading. ...YES IT IS! Don't forget the previous books, you need to know all the others first.
I'm looking forward to the next in the series. Thank you Erin for another repose from my daily routines. You take me on an adventure everytime.
I jumped at this one and devoured it but neglected to do a review shame on me because this was a excellent read. Dragons in novels are not so often as when paranormal came out so it would seem. When I come across a good one especially in a series I snatch and read. Ryder living as a professor of all things it is only fitting how it comes out. Aura has her own agenda with Ryder if she can get on her side success could be possible. The adventure is the how and what that this author takes us on. Using these two to fuel it we are given a treasure of a read. As we also see them build our blood will boil. Of course the unusual alone would grab any reader seal that with the heat this author has done it again with superb.
Aura Ortiz has been running from her secrets for years, but when a Tempus instigates a hunt for Aura as a traitor, she decides to go to an old friend for help. Ryder Magnus has avoided his dragon side for longer than he can remember, but he is outed in front of his class and the world as he begins to shift. However, the media mistakes him for a wolfkin instead of bloodkin. Ryder is joined by his human friend and colleague, Walter, a vampire servant of Aura, Oscar, and Aura herself. Aura convinces Ryder that their only hope is to find the Bastard’s Eye.
If you love dragons, wolves and ancient artifacts, this story is for you!
*I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Seduced By Fire" the third book in the "Dragons of Bloodfire" series doesn't disappoint. This book is a continuation of the last book "Awakened By Fire" but you won't be lost if you read it as a stand-alone.
You follow Ryder "Mack" Magnus and Aura on an action packed journey where you not only get your fill of dragons but also wolves and vampires. With a budding romance that doesn't overtake the basis of the story this is a book I'll definitely read again.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
The next installment in the Bloodkin series was quick both in the plot and in the conflict. The characters already knew each other and in fact loved each other so it was more a sense of the two coming together to finalize what was already there just never acknowledged. The characters were good, the passion was ok, and the plot was entertaining. I don't think this is my favorite in the series but it was good. I would have liked more passion and the two main characters could have used some more bantering between the two of them. Their dialogue at times kind of came off as just ok. I did enjoy the read.
Somehow with this book I couldn't find my reading rhythm,so I struggled and struggled and somehow finished it.I would have dropped it but the problem is that my struggles did not reflect on how good the story was or writing style.Maybe it was because it was really boring for me or i could not set my head on this particular tale.I don't know, maybe the timing was wrong-sometimes that happens to me,I should have read this story at different point in my life and maybe I could have really got into it.So....don't let my struggles to discourage you from picking this dragon tale up,it's not bad or anything.
Seduced by Fire is not a standalone. To make sense of it, you need to have read the first two books in the Dragons of Bloodfire series. Having done that, you will find the tale of Ryder Mack, the midnight Magnus dragon, and his unreqited love for Aurelia, the Sun (golden) dragon, to be as magical, as hot, as all-consuming, as fire itself. Erin Kellison’s depth of emotional understanding, and the incredible breadth of her imaginative world-building make this book, and the series, uniquely memorable
I thought this book was fabulous. Have read a few books by this author and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. This was hot and steamy but a good love story aswell. Loved Ryder and Aura and thought the story kept you interested right till the end, I could not put it down. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements of a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here ae my honest opinion.
