Ace and Chance Jensen doesn't have it as simple as they want. But what can they do? Ride the Savage Land is an entertaining western by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone. This time due to lacking funds the brothers agree to escort five mail order brides across Texas. This is a funny and action filled story that doesn't get any easier because two of the girls are hunted by some evil men and the twins manages to aggravate two other groups of bad boys and then there's some indians as well.

A “dramatized adaptation” of Ride The Savage Land, was a real treat to listen to. Multiple character voices and sound effects, it was like a movie playing for your mind and ears.

Ace and Chance Jensen agree to escort a wagon full of 5 mail order brides across Texas. The brides-to-be are to be married in San Angelo. But nothing is ever as easy as it seems. This journey is full of western grit and surprise attacks. With bullets flying, you never know who might be hit. Will all reach their prospective bridegrooms? The Wild West has a way of changing lives sometimes.

I found this dramatized edition free Scribd.

MAIL ORDER BRIDES FOR SAN ANGELO

The Jensen Twins Ace and Chance are low in the financial sector. They worked on a ranch in upper Wyoming and left on their way South. Found trouble in Fort Worth, Texas with a trio consisted of a card shark, a gun wolf and a Kiowia who did their dirty work of ambushing. Gifters who were sitting up poker players to steal their winnings once they left the saloon..nice guys!!
Chance and Ace accompanied mail order brides who were leaving dubious lives to find love and respectability..It was Chance and Ace who protected these women till they reached San Angelo, Texas. They came up against a father/leader of a hillbilly clan who traveled/drifted all over Texas, now the sons with the help of their loco father were trying to kidnap these women for themselves. One of the women was married to a leader of a bank robbing gang. Molly took the money and escaped with the women not now the gang was after them.
Action, Action and lots craziness going on, but it's a good western adventure that you'll enjoy and find yourself riding with the twins as they faced all these situations.

Any Johnstone book is sure to grab you from the start and keep you entertained through the many trials and troubles, along with the victories, that the characters travel through. I've read many Johnstone books and this one is my current favorite. I'm recommending it to my many western loving reading friends. I can't wait to see what will become of the twins next!
