A decent issue of young Weird Tales. most notable for Lovecraft's "The Rats in the Walls" and for the cover story "by Houdini." This unlikely tale of dastardly European murderers tying up Houdini is far-fetched by interesting. Presumably this is the beginning of the professional relationship Lovecraft and Houdini would develop shortly thereafter. The rest of the issue includes a couple of okay stories, but is blighted by chapters of the inane "Transparent Ghost" and another long chapter of the plodding, padded "Draconda." A long letter in The Eyrie from James Morton eloquently expounds on why "The Transparent Ghost" shouldn't have been printed; alas, too late!
As usual, five stars for the terrific facsimile presentation.
