"I didn't know if it was the pain medicine or my brain trying to protect me, but the past few days are more or less a blur. I have fragmented memories that exist like still photographs, just imagery with no motion or audio. It’s disorienting. When memories flash in front of my eyes it feels like I am remembering them from a bad dream, not from something that I actually experienced. I have to keep asking Cash to remind me what’s real and what isn’t, and unfortunately, it’s all real." In the highly anticipated follow up to debut novel Ricochet, Recoil follows those closest to Lilly in the wake of her disappearance and through the challenges unearthed by the aftermath. Vibrant, multi-perspective storytelling plunges the reader into the minds of the characters we love to hate. Profoundly unnerving, complex, and immensely personal, Recoil forces readers to confront and endure the uncomfortable truths of sexual assault, self-harm, and addiction served alongside a generous helping of dark humor and explicit sex. Vulgar, witty, and surprisingly insightful, brace yourself for a dark romp through the minds, hearts, and bedrooms of deeply unsettled individuals doing their best to cope with harsh realities and have a good time in the process.

Dark, Gritty and Real

Recoil has left me unable to really form coherent thoughts. It's rough, it's dark, it's gritty and so realistic that at some points I wanted to call the police because I feared for the safety of the characters. This was a great buy, a great read and an even better joyride into a world that has left me both exhausted and excited for more. Excellent writing!
