I enjoyed this book. There were not as many twists and turns in it as there were in the last book but it was more believable. The last few books have followed three members of the same generation. It has been interesting to see how each member has gone in different directions and found his/her own place in life.

Overall, this tale was enjoyable, but it rushed plot in interesting ways at times and spent time developing side characters that ended up feeling more like filler for length than necessary for the story. The conclusion also felt a bit rushed and predictable beyond the typical predictability of these Winslow novels.

The story of Custer's last stand against the Indians, and missionaries wanting to teach the Indians. Includes Tom Winslow, Faith, and his daughter Laurie.

Excellent Story

I love historical fiction. Gilbert Morris is one of the best. Combining a Gospel message with a great story about Custer’s Last Stand is worth the read.

I have twelve of these books on my shelves and have just read them a fourth time. The Winslow family story starts in England and comes over on the Mayflower. Wonderful way to review history.

This book is about one of three sons in Sky Winslow' s that survived the Civil war. Tom and his young daughter go to the Black Hills and join Custer troop. Tom understands the Indian people and was to try to preserve the treaty made with the Indians.

This series by Gilbert Morris is one of my absolute favorites. Each book follows at least one member of a generation in the Winslow family tree and the member(s) gets saved and finds true love. There's also some commentary on the social conditions of the time frame. Truly interesting.

When I borrowed this book from church I wasn't expecting it to be a love story, but it wasn't that bad, I actually enjoyed it. The story takes place right after the civil war and is partly about The battle at Little Bighorn.

7 - Custer wasn't very smart when he went off on his own to fight the Indians. The Indians got a bum deal from the White man when we ran them off their land.
