#1 Amazon bestseller and #1 New York Times bestseller now available in paperback! From the mind of one of the most popular YouTubers of all time, DanTDM, comes a graphic novel adventure that reimagines the Minecraft-style worlds and characters he’s created like you’ve never seen them before. After a day of experiments, Trayaurus and DanTDM are about to call it a night when a strange-looking crystal plummets to earth, breaking into five pieces that scatter far and wide. DanTDM and Trayaurus recover one of the shards and quickly realize they are in possession of an object more powerful than anything they’ve ever known. Word reaches DanTDM and Trayaurus that other pieces of crystal have been recovered—a group of pigs have harnessed the crystals’ power to enable them to talk. But they’re not alone—Dan and Trayaurus’s archenemy, Denton, has also found a shard and manipulated its power for evil. He has created a cloning machine and is producing a terrifying marauding army intent on hunting down the remaining crystals in his effort to become all-powerful. It’s down to DanTDM and Trayaurus to stop him. Will they prevail, or will the forces of evil be too great for them to overcome? Fans of the Elementia Chronicles and the Gameknight999 series will be drawn to DanTDM’s tale about an epic power struggle in a high-stakes world.
This book has a very creative style and I also love the cute comic style with all the bright colours. I think you should read this if you like DanTDM and Minecraft
Bought this because the kids are into graphic novels and watch DanTDM on YouTube at their dad's house. But honestly? It's crap. My 6 yr old tells stories better than this. I feel bad saying that because he's got a team of writers/artists who did a lot of work, but I suspect it only got published because he's a YouTube star, not because it's worth reading. Like the dialogue doesn't even make sense (why are some words bold?), the story isn't original (two evil scientists fight and guess what, the good one wins and everyone goes home happy), the setting is confusing (they're in a desert? in a forest?). Maybe I just don't get it. Or maybe I'm not blinded enough by fame. Either way, let me just tell you there's plenty of better books out there. Sorry, DanTDM, stick to YouTube.
I bought this for Nick (9), who loves DanTDM, but struggled with reading. Early this year, I was able to sneak the book into his school bag, because they started doing ‘quiet reading‘ in class. When he found it, he switched out the school readers for something he was interested in, and managed to read the book unassisted in a week. The next week, he apparently reread it in two days. It remained at school for the rest of the term, being a source of comfort reading on days when it was too much effort to read a novel by himself and a source of pride, because he can now read ‘real’ books by himself.
So that’s the source of my five stars. It’s a big thank you to Dan for helping kids read.
If I was reviewing for myself, I’d probably give it a three. It’s fun, the art is solid and no knowledge of minecraft or Dan’s previous adventures is required. But it’s an early work from the team and the story could be tighter (it’s a quest for five items, and the arc going after the last two doesn’t add anything to world building or characterisation, it just serves to split the party). I want to see what some more experience brings to what the writers and artists can do.
the enchanted crystal is an amazing book i rated it 5 stars because there is a lot of excitement and thrilling adventures in it and it is a comic so there is a lot of pictures and it is fiction and it is just a good book.
Pretty cool and funny there were just some parts I don't get. There, for example, is friggen talking pigs! And guess why. Because of a crystal. A little more explaining please? But otherwise, very good book. I watch this youtuber every so often and hes pretty cool and funny also.
I got this book for my 8-year old grandson Nico and he read it in one sitting. To say he loved it is an understatement. He gave it five stars and said, “It was the best book of my life!” (That’s high praise, considering he reads many, many books.)

My 7yr old son loved it. Getting him books that engage him to keep reading. Nice colorful artwork. He's reading a second time for fluency and doesn't mind. :)
