5☆ Beautifully Illustrated, Heart Warming Educational, Important Lessons, Highly Recommend!

Ginormous Joe’s Broken Bark is a heart warming and poignant story that bought a tear to my eye!
It tells of how animal cruelty can have a happy ending if you show kindness, love and patience.

Joe the dog is Rescued by the Tuttle Family.
After Joe's previous owner dumped him on the roadside for losing his ability to bark.
But Joe was desperate for some TLC and Love.
Their Daughter Mary and Joe became best of Friends and they do everything together.

Luckily for Joe, the Tuttle Family don't care that he is unable to bark.
But it really upsets Joe as he feels inadequate as a dog, when all the other dogs make fun of him.

But when something awful happens, Joe finds his inner strength and becomes a Super Hero Pup!
Which actually melted my heart!
I'll let you read it to discover how Ginormous Joe becomes a Super Hero Pup.

Ginormous Joe’s Broken Bark is a beautifully Illustrated Children's Picture Book that educates children about caring for a dog, looking at animal behaviour, it also highlights the importance of being kind, patient and giving lots of love to all fur babies, it also educates about Animal Cruelty and Bullying.

The Characters are wonderfully thought out, Strong and perfectly relatable to children.
Although this really does have a Happy Ending, one of the subjects within the book is burglary and although it's written in a very sensitive manner younger children might need to have things explained a little more in depth.

I would recommend this book for children aged 5-9years

There are many things you can do as an extension with this book, ie, talking about how you can be kind to all fur babies, how to care for a pet, animal cruelty, animal behaviour, Talking about animal adoption and rescue and discussing bullying.
It opens up important communication skills through reading this beautiful story.

If you are looking for a beautifully poignant, Compelling, Uplifting, Educational and Heart warming story of Fitting In, Finding Your Forever Home, Embracing Changes, Family, Love, Caring and being Kind.
That will simply melt your heart, is relatable, has endearing and loveable characters, can be read as a bed time story or standalone, portrays valuable life lessons, then you will adore this Gorgeous Picture Book.
One not to be missed!

It's so wonderful to see S C Cunningham branching out and writing Children's Books.
Highly recommend all of her books and can't wait to see what lesson Ginormous Jo has next.

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

3.5 Stars: Ginormous Joe is a great character that my grandson identified with right away having a mastiff mix at home. He understand all about the issues surrounding a big dog (tripping over him, lots of hugs, sleeping a lot etc.). He felt bad for Joe and said that he was sad. He also said it was okay because dogs can't really laugh. I asked him what if it was a boy and he said that it was mean to laugh at him and call him useless. We were very happy that Joe found his bark and that even before he got it back, it was good that he had a family that loved him anyway. He liked that he became a superhero dog and saved his family. His complaint was that he didn't like the pictures. In many of the illustrations he asked me what it was and when I said it was Joe, he said it didn't look like a dog. He listened intently while I read, but didn't engage with the illustrations like he usually does when we read a book. I liked the message of acceptance and finding your niche which he seemed to understand. Overall, a good story with a great message. I received a copy from Rachel's Random Resources upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

This was a lovely story and it had the perfect ending.

Joe is a loving dog who only wants to do the best and be the best he can for his family but sadly he is being kept by an owner who doesn't appreciate him. The story does deal with some animal cruelty but not in any great detail, it just touches upon it.

For me the story was one that rang close to home for me as we found one of our dogs after she had been dumped in a box by the side of the road as a puppy with her brothers and she grew up to be the most loyal and loving dog. All dogs deserve a loving home and I love that this is one of the books underlying themes along with love conquers everything - and I was rooting for Joe!

I love that the royalties are going to such a great cause too - four stars from me for this one, highly recommended!!

Joe is a large white dog that gets abandoned by his owner Nasty Nik. He is heartbroken and sad that he can’t even bark. But he is adopted by Mr. Tuttle and his daughter Mary. They show Joe what love is and help him heal from his treatment from Nasty Nik. Then there is a bunch of burglaries in the neighborhood. Joe comes to the rescue and saves Mary.

This is a wonderful story about a big, loving dog that never had anything until he was abandoned then found a loving home. Although he thought he was not a useless dog he found out that he was so much more.

This would be a wonderful story for children and could bring up talking points about feeling down on themselves. This story has a fantastic message and would be a great addition to any child’s shelves.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

Ginormous Joe's Broken Bark is the first book in this lovely children's book series about a big dog named Joe. Joe didn't always have an easy life. The story starts off with Joe's owner being neglectful and mean. When he abandons Joe, a new family swoops in and saves Joe, nursing him back to health. The only problem is, Joe can't bark. It seems to be broken thanks to his old owner. Can Joe ever figure out how to bark again?

I really liked how sweet this story was. Not only does it showcase what a difference kindness can make (a lesson I think children should definitely learn, especially because bullying seems to be rampant nowadays), it also showcases that being "broken" or different isn't a bad thing. Joe learns that all he needs is love, patience, and kindness.

Ginormous Joe's Broken Bark is a great, fun start to a cute series that will appeal to kids and adults alike. I'm giving it 4 stars.
