I really loved this one! It was well written. Beautiful story! I was hooked from the start. I can't believed I cried. I only cried once reading a book. And this was the second time. Not the ugly cry. It was just sad.
The story is about Max and Fiona.
Her best friend, Kia died recently. She received a box from Kia with instructions of her bucket list. The note dated a week before she passed away and she wanted Fiona to finish the bucket list. Those were her last wishes.
She has to finish one task in order to move on to the next and the first one was for her to sleep with the hot tattoo guy they were watching from the bar they went to when Kia was still alive.
Max owns Savage Tattoos. He was a jerk the first time she went to his shop. She told him about the bucket list but she didn't expect he'll do it.
He may be a jerk that first time but he's really a nice man. He's so sweet and the right man for her.
The story was both sweet and sad. Their love story was sweet and there were times I was giggling because of how cute they were together. And there were sad times too. I felt her sadness remembering her best friend. Kia was a great best friend. She was still taking care of Fiona even after she passed away.
It has a nice sweet epilogue.

My absolute favorite Penny Wylder book to date.
A much more emotional read than I was expecting.
It reminded me so much of the movie "p.s. I love you ".
Fiona is grieving over the loss of her best friend Kia to a slow illness, when she finds out that Kia has left her a series of letters with tasks in them. She needs to complete each one before she can open the next letter. They are presented as a bucket list of items- the first one is to hook up with a guy that Fiona and Kia used to watch working through the window of a bar they frequented.
Max is the gorgeous tattoo artist they would both ogle. He accepts Fiona's proposition fairly readily and after their initial encounter they both want more.
As Fiona progresses through the list, she realizes that maybe Kia's intentions with the letters were more about Fiona living her life to the fullest rather than performing things that Kia missed out on while she was alive .
Such a sweet, sexy , tender and emotional read that I wouldn't necessarily have expected from Penny Wylder but I really enjoyed. Beautiful epilogue also.

The story of Fiona and Max is one full many emotions that pull at your heart!!

This bucket list is full of many adventures!!!
The first adventure leads Fiona to Savage Ink and its owner Max!!
Can I just say that these two are smoking hot!!
Their chemistry is palpable!!
What starts off with a letter leads to something way more!!

Loved it! Probably the sweetest and most organic story Penny Wylder's written. Fiona and Max were wonderful and the premise was bittersweet and unconditional. 5 stars all the way!

Wow, what a hot little story (Thank you Cariad!)! I wasn't sure I was going to like Max at first, but he threw me for a loop and transformed into an awesome hero, with so much more depth to him than I was expecting. I loved Fiona too. Loved her fighting not to fall for Max, because she believed she's just a hookup side piece for Max. The story all together had a lot more depth than I was expecting. I thought this was just a hot little romance, but I was pleasantly surprised this story packed in so much more. There was a bit of loss and grieving, self discovery, moving on and definitely romance. And some fantastic sex, to boot! Total recommend!

Can't do it. The premise is just stupid. Best friend died leaving a letter telling h to go f*ck the hot guy in the tattoo parlor. Stranger that they've been checking out and fantasizing about. And h is like - yeah! that's what I'm going to do, f*ck the hot guy in the tattoo parlor bc my dead best friend told me to."

Wow! Favorite Penny Wylder read hands down!
Uhm. This is hands down the best Penny Wylder book I have read, and I have read quite a few of them recently. Wow.
If you like super smutty with a really really good story along with it, then this is it.
I don't want to say much, but Fiona's friend sadly passes away and leaves her a bucket list of items to do. It's a great bucket list. That's all I'm going to say.
Highly recommend this one if you're looking for quick and smutty with a great story!

This was a short read but a pretty good one. The premise was believable to me since I can totally picture my best friend doing something like this when we were younger. I am certainly more shy than she is so her forcing me to follow her instructions from the other side would absolutely please her.
Parts of this book were well described and developed and then other parts were really rushed and the writing every once in a while was a tad bit juvenile. For the most part though it was decent.
It is a steamy and sweet read and I’m glad I did it as a KU.

I was going to knock half off for it being short, but, do you know what... I'm not! Quick or long that was fantastic.
I loved this heartfelt story; with the incredibly hot, dirty sex it was beautiful.

I always enjoy Penny Wylder her books.
Fiona has a pair of balls that I would've loved to have, I would never dare to stop in a tattoo shop and ask the owner what Fiona's asking.. I'm very shy and get easily flustered. I think there are only a few with that kind of balls.
This one is just as hot and steamy! What I found a bit hard to believe (from own experience) that tattoo costumers aren't always that tolerant for waiting. My second tattoo artist (the first died..) she said she has a lot of costumers who hate waiting. So when Max says that if you really want a tat you can wait or you can go to another artist. That's true but many people aren't that understanding.
The thing I have in common with Fiona is we both like Tyrion Lannister, he is just that amazing! It made me smile and happy to read that!
Also we went to Scotland for my birthday and I fell in love with the Highland Cows as well! They are so gorgeous.
A big thank you to Penny Wylder for this ARC you really made a dark period a little lighter.

This one was really emotional for me to read! I'm not a big fan of books where loss is one of the key ingredients but I'm happy that I read this one! Max and Fiona's story was a steamy one, sweet and sooo romantic. Yet again, some life messages are hidden between the words of Penny Wylder. I LOVED it!

I have read every single book by Penny Wylder and loved every one but this novella is special.
I have rated it 5 stars but I would honestly give it more if I could.
Dirty Promise is a beautifully written book that will pull on your heartstrings and give you all the feels.
This book looked into my soul and brought out every emotion in me.
I now feel drained but in a good way if that make sense.
I feel sorry for the next book I read as it has a lot to live up too.
For once I am happy that this is a novella as I don't think my emotions could have took this being a longer book.
Yes it is an emotional book but it also has laugh out loud moments and some steamy scenes that would make anyone blush.
Max Savage came into Fiona's life when she needed him the most.
He was her gift from heaven and boy what a fantastic gift he was.
We all need some Max Savage in our lives.
I 110% recommend you one click this book as soon as you can and get swept away by this fantastic storyline that mesmerized me from the first chapter.

*3.5* A best friend leaves a bucket list to complete after she passes. The first item on the list is to have sex with the sexy tattoo artist across the street. The romance was really sweet, but the steam was written like they were on a porn set. Somewhat robotic and unemotional.

Dirty Promise by Penny Wylder is beautiful, sensitive and endearing. Even though the title eludes to “dirty entities” believe me, it holds true! It also holds promise to so much more.
If given the opportunity would you complete someone else’s bucket list? A best friend’s? No matter what it asked you to do? Fiona’s best friend Kia has passed, but left in her wake, is a collection of letters… a sort of a bucket list for Fiona to complete. She must start with the first letter before proceeding to the next. The first task… sleep with the hot tattoo artist that her and Kia has had their eyes on for a couple of weeks. Welp, a one night stand is not all she gets, Fiona gets o’ so much more!
Beautiful, poetic memories between Fiona and Kia that she experiences through the bucket list opportunities. The moment where she finally realizes there is love between her and Max and wishes Kia were around to witness… tears! Big beautiful tears!! The chemistry between these two is beyond real. I love how Penny has a devilishly hot tattoo bad boy becomes Fiona’s world. It’s all Fiona can think about and I think, deep down Kia, her best friend knew that.

Fiona is working through her grief of losing her best friend, Kia. She receives a post mortem gift from Kia. Kia wants her to complete a bucket list and fulfill dreams she will never be able to.
Through this awesome journey of adventure and healing, Fiona meets Max. Max is a bit of a jerk but she soon discovers his sweet, funny and romantic side. Max assists Fiona with Kia's bucket list and while completing the list, they fall in love.
There chemistry is smoking HOT! It's a beautiful and wonderful story of love, self-discovery and a friendship that transcends this life.
Get out your kleenex and enjoy the ride. This will definitely be a story that stays with you.

This might be my favorite Penny Wylder to date! It was sweet and sexy and had a depth that just got to me. Fiona seemed a bit one dimensional to me at first but then I realized that that may have been intentional on the authors part in order to convey her grief over the loss of her friend. This is one of those instances where I wish that it was dual POV narrative, as I would've loved to have read Max's perspective. He has to be my favorite Penny Wylder male lead thus far. He was a bit asshole-ish at first, but we soon find out that there is so much more to the sweet, sexy, tatted up artist. Dirty Promise is a wonderful ode to friendship and love and life and I just adored it. 4.75 out of 5 wine glasses.

Absolutely another amazing read by Penny that I couldn't put down. This is an emotional,sexy read that will have you wanting more. Fiona has just lost her best friend Kia and before she passed she wrote a bucket list for Fiona to complete. First task was hook up with the sexy tattoo artist Max, little did Fiona know that, that one hook up would give her everything that she always wanted. I love Max & Fiona together and this by far is my favorite book written by Penny.

Penny Wylder's best work yet!! I would give it more than five stars. Fiona is trying to fulfill her best friend's bucket list and in the mix ends up meeting Max Savage. This book checked off everything on my list and then some, even down to a sexy tattooed man with a wrist watch!!! Absolutely adorable, sexy, fun , extremely hot adventure that I couldn't put down!! Kudos to you Penny for a great book!! I loved it, if you haven't already guessed!! Lol

Okay, the first thing I am going to say is To READ THIS BOOK! I know it is a shorter read, only around a hundred pages or so, but those hundred pages are so worth your time. I laughed, cried, and just couldn't stop reading this story. I really need to write a bucket list for a couple people just in case and one for myself. This was such a wonderful idea for a book and was happy to have read this book.

Fiona is tasked with completing her recently deceased best friends bucket list. Her 1st task is hooking up with a hot guy. The story moves on from there and I enjoyed this book. I liked Max and Fiona. Heat level was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 for this one.

Wow. An amazing journey of adventure and self discovery with a side of grief...
Fiona and Max meet after the death of Fiona's best friend Kia, who had a bad heart. Kia leaves Fiona a Bucket List of what turns out to be a list of actions that in some shape or form benefit Fiona, though she doesn't catch that little detail until the book is nearly done. Max is a tattoo artist Fiona had a major crush on and fantasized about as they stared at him tattooing across the street from the bar they were drinking at. He also happens to be Kia's first item on the Bucket List - she has.to go meet him and ask him to hook up, as in, have sex together! Fiona follows through despite all her misgivings and incredible shyness simply because she wants to meet Kia's expectations, and still harboring that attraction and residual crush didn't hurt in the least.
Since she began the Bucket List with Max, they bond, especially after she informs him about the Bucket List and Kia, and long story short, Max becomes Fiona's greatest supporter and sidekick in the Bucket List venture, their relationship developing along with Fiona's feelings for him. Good news is that he falls just as hard for her, and it's also fantastic how they both have an amazing time experiencing exciting challenges that are items on the list, and Fiona slowly pulls herself out of her shell to become more confident, assured, more willing to extend her self confidence into assertiveness, and most importantly, achieves a point of self discovery that meets Max halfway so they are able to move forward together in life. That was the most beautiful and poignant moment for me -- seeing that culmination of a formerly geeky, insecure and dreadfully withdrawn young woman into one who now lives in a tougher, resilient shell and who now believes she actually can be considered beautiful. Actually, it is more accurate to say that she believes in Max, and that HE thinks she is beautiful.
This story was charming, lighthearted at times, yet offered realistic feelings and showed how Fiona, by succumbing to her grief and pain that accompanied the loss a of a person who knew her so well that she was.able to push Fiona out into the world and the very muscular, tattooed arms of the perfect man for her, as well as pushed her out to live to fulfill the Bucket List, and not mope around mourning Kia's death. Ingenious on Kia's part, so these details and activities are not improbable. I loved reading every word, and I am very sorry for not writing a review at the time I actually read this book for the first time (this is my second time around). Worth every penny (hah!) I paid, and I have put more than a few dollars toward Penny Wylder's books. She is witty with a sense of humor all the time without forgetting her characters have differences, especially in speech. Her writing is clean, easy to follow, and so wonderfully NOT full of errors. Yay! I recommend this book wholeheartedly, as well as her other books, for Penny Wylder's not written a bad book yet. Seriously.

Not Enough
The characters are interesting but the story no d if glosses over or summarizes all those moments where you'd actually see them falling in love. The entire thing is from Fiona' s POV so you only get her side of things and the only things Fiona's interested in going into detail about is what happens between the sheets. There no real conflict here and not enough scenes to show more than a hot hookup. It's okay but it could have been better.
