I loved my father. Don Leon, infamous mob boss, and the man who dictated every facet of my life, right down to what I wore to whom I would marry. It didn’t bother me, never had. It was my duty as his daughter, his only child, to do as he said, carry on our family legacy as he saw fit. For me, that meant marrying Viktor, a man just as duty bound to his Don as I was.
All it took, though, were a dozen bullets in Viktor’s body to put a halt to my father’s plans, and it was a set of green eyes and a man that kindled fire in me like I had never felt to consider, maybe, just maybe, I didn’t want what my father did for me. That, perhaps, it lay in the least likely place – with the man who took my future away…

Corella is an only daughter to Don Leon, the infamous mob box. He has her life planned out for her and who she is to marry. After all it is the family legacy and this is how the Don wants it. Corella has never had a problem with it, until Viktor is killed and she is kidnapped by Hadrian. Hadrian has no intention of returning her to her father. He is the first person to let her speak her mind. He is the first person to allow her to make up her own mind about her body. He becomes her first of many things and while she is discovering herself she realizes that perhaps Daddy dearest did not have her best intentions at heart. This was a very short story. The plot felt like a build up to what’s still to come. This almost felt like a prequel and it did leave you on a cliff hanger as to what is still to become of these two. I enjoyed the characters and the chemistry. Although a short story it was entertaining.

This was a nice short read that reminded me of the type of stories told on the soap operas I used to watch years ago. The young virgin falls for the bad guy knowing that it is all wrong but she does it anyway. Here it is even more wrong because he is a hit man who killed her fiance.

It is a nice blend of character development, plot and a little steam thrown in. The biggest downfall for me was that some of it felt a little rushed to me, but overall I enjoyed it.

I got this book in exchange for a voluntary review. Corella is a good girl for her father in the Italian mafia. He has picked Viktor for her to marry. Hadrian kills Viktor and takes her captive. This is a story of a young woman finding a kind of freedom she never felt before.. The reader is left with an open ended story though. I just hope they were able to escape her father.

I don't know if this is a prequel for a book or not but it ended without a conclusion.
This story had potential and the characters had great chemistry but the ending let it down.
Only 2* because of the poor ending.

Short good read but seemed almost like a prelude as it ended in somewhat of a cliffhanger
