Lexi has faced many difficult challenges since becoming a member of the Shifter Squad. All were apparently designed to teach her the skills she needs to undertake the duty that Fate has given her. As absurd as it may seem, she is destined to save the world. Thankfully, she won’t have to tackle this daunting task alone.
The rival organization known as EERI are somehow involved in the coming threat. The Squad’s goal is to hunt down the rival organization’s leader and end them before they can destroy mankind. Before they can embark on their search, they are sidetracked by a new mission.
As they begin to close in on their enemy, a new threat arises that heralds the beginning of the end. Their target knows their weaknesses and they will do anything they can to destroy the team’s morale. Lexi was told that she has all the tools she needs to fight her nemesis, but not even her new speed and strength will be enough to save the life of someone she loves.
I began reading horror and paranormal books when most girls my age were still reading fairy stories. I always dreamed that one day I would be able to write stories that readers could become lost in.
The Mortis, Shifter Squad, Hellscourge and Fate's Warriors series are connected, but can be read as stand alone series. The overarching theme about Fate's chosen champions will come to an end with my fifth series; Loki's Exile.
My sixth series, Hunter Elite, begins a new saga with the seventh series, Half Fae Hunter, as a spin off.

This is the 8th instalment, and it did not disappoint.
We are following Lexi, a hybrid, trying to save the world for the upcoming apocalypse with the help of her team( pack) !
Yet again danger is drawn to her, and I was captivated right from the beginning. Demon fights, EERIE mysteries and good ol' ass-kicking is the center of the book.
My only issue with the book is (at times) Lexi is really premature ( granted she is a teenager, but sometimes it is a bit too much). Also there happen to be a few times "where they got away easy". Coincidence might summon it up. I have however, been captivated by the story from day one, and I cannot wait to finally get some closure in the last book! I am sure it will be amazing!

Web Master kicks off with Lexi and the gang facing a whole new enemy, this time spiders. But the problem goes a lot farther than what they originally thought. Now, everything is finally coming to a head, and Lexi's team is one step closer to figuring out who is behind the threat that is after them and everyone else in the world.
This book had a lot of action, but some new things from Lexi that was freaking amazing to see. And of course there were also a lot more things that I loved between Lexi and Reese. Then the cliffhanger ending that leaves you wanting more, but excited for the next one even though it will be the last.
Overall this was a great book. It really brought answers to a lot of questions that were still lingering, and now I'm excited for the grand finale.
As the 8th installation of the series, Web Master was a helpful story to get to the final battle as well as to answer some questions but as far as stories go, this one was a little flat for me. Things didn't get all that interesting until about 2/3 of the way through the book when tables turned and the team found themselves in far deeper trouble than they had realized. over all it was okay and for the series, worth the read.
Now here's the problem... This book was just released, so I have to wait for the next one. BUT the next one will be the final, so I don't know if I want it sooner so I can see what's gunna happen, or if I want to wait so it won't be over :/ these first world problems we struggle with, ahhhh!
With the team back in full swing there’s just enough time to meet the Board of the PIA before they’re called on to track down their enemy. Unfortunately the team will also be side-tracked from their main mission when a new golem rises.
We’re nearing the end of the series and it’s a bitter sweet feeling. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all ends, who’s running EERIE and just how Lexi is going to fulfil her task of saving the world. One of those questions will actually be answered in this novel, which is good. By the time Web Master comes to an end, Lexi will finally have all the skills she needs to win the war too; in theory. Eight books in and we’re still learning new information about the team, as we learn just how Flynn became a wereconstrictor when he’s believed to be the only one of his kind. We also get to see a little more of what Lexi is capable of when her necromancer comes out to play. You’ll be thankful for her darker side when it helps save a member of the team and provides the shifter squad with an interesting perk. I do so love watching our heroine grow in strength, as she learns to hone her skills. While I’m a bit of an arachnophobe, I have to admit I did enjoy the scene where someone in the team overcomes their phobia and kicks a rather large spider. Their sense of triumph is something I can definitely relate to. (Not that I think I’d be that brave in their situation). And if you were beginning to suspect that Lexi and Reece would be the only Shifter Squad couple to find love then you’re in for a treat in Web Master, as the prospects are there for more than one of the squad to find a partner. Oh and if you’re curious as to what Laurylayne’s blessing was, you’ll definitely want to download and start reading this book now.
Warning: This book might not be suitable for anyone with arachnophobia. While reading about spiders might not set you off, you should be aware that they feature heavily in this book and the next.
There was way to much back stories in this book. What happened in all the books before this one. I've already read them I didn't need to catch up. That is my only complaint.
Couldn't put it down. In a little over 3 weeks, I've devoured the first 8 books in this series. (Would have been less, but work kept getting in the way.)
Lexi and Reece’s relationship is finally on good terms the only trouble is the end of the world is about to get in the way. Lexi begins to use her new powers to stop the web master who is trying to end the world. The danger is much worse than anything they’ve ever faced and not everyone will make it. I love the twists and turns that take place in book eight and was literally on the edge of my seat. I won’t spoil the surprises but if you’re hooked on the series I don’t think you will be disappointed.
The death of someone close made tears spring to my eyes. Lexi learns a new trick or two to add to her arsenal and Garrett's and Lexi's relationship continues to blossom. I am so happy to see them back together. There are some new team members and I am excited to see what they bring to the table. This book contained a lot of punch and starts the fight against the apocalypse.
Web Master was an amazing installment to the series. The Shifter Squad keeps kicking butt and taking names. This one was full of surprises, stronger kinship, plenty of action, and new and or improved characters that is sure to make the finale one of a kind. I'm very much looking forward to March...I've already preordered and am just waiting. If you haven't read this series, you are missing out.
I was so excited to read this book that I read almost as soon as I got it. I am anxiously awaiting the final book coming in March. Lexi's story, along with her friends, is great and I have loved every minute of this series.
All of the Shifter Squad books are so well written it makes you feel what every character is going through. Web Master had my skin crawling and I loved it. I love that Mark had a bigger part in this and the dad getting to show off his skills. I can't wait for the next book.

Love this series as I did the Mortis one. The fate of the world hangs on a small group of talented people, shifters and a special dog, lead by a teen. How scary is that! Can't wait for the last book.
This is the first series from author j.c diem that I have read and I am so hooked. I can't wait for book 9 to come out. From book1 to book 8 I just couldn't stop reading.
We are up to the final book now and this one sets the scene nicely. Questions finally start to get answered and the excitement and drama really start to ramp up, cannot wait to read the last book!
