He starts out as her prisoner, slave to a Princess. But it’s not long before he turns the tables and she belongs to him… Malcolm is sentenced to death after being captured during battle. He is one of the few Scottish Lords fighting in the crusades in the Far East, to support his English Grandfather’s campaign. When the beautiful, veiled woman sees him trudging to his death, the handsome Scot catches her eye. She claims him as her own, saving him from execution. Princes Kalila is exquisitely lovely, but temperamental. She is bored and lonely, with nothing to entertain her but her handsome slave. Sparks fly once she realizes that Malcolm’s desire for her is a perfect way to amuse herself. Once Malcolm learns of the danger she is in, he swears to protect her, no matter the cost. When her father the King is murdered during a coup, Malcolm helps to secret her away. But the shoe is now on the other foot. Kalila belongs to him now, and he’ll have his sensual revenge on her. This book was previously released under a different title. It has been expanded and rewritten.
Calyope Adams is a life long avid reader and writer, usually found with her head in a book. Most recently she has been exploring the sensual side of life. She's fascinated by mythology and the power dynamics inherent in romantic relationships (whether between two humans, a clone and a human, a werebat and a human... you get the idea). She also writes humorous/erotic fan fiction under another pseudonym (she dares you to figure out which one it is). The author did no research on the time period. I was very disappointed with the book. The characters were very wooden. I am 69 years old and have been reading most of my life and have read thousands of of books. This is not the worse book I have every read but it does come very close. The writer, I will not call her an author, has no knowledge of the time period, customs or even of King Richard of England. What a waste of time, I did not even try to finish the book it was so bad.
This was a wonderful book full of ups & downs thru out the book. Just when you thought the main characters where finely going to be together, something always happens. Their is so much love between the two characters, & great Erotic sex. You know that they were born to be soul mates. In the end their dreams come true in ways that they never dreamed could happen. The Pincess & her Highlander have a HEA!!!
My favorite out of the bunch so far. Maybe because the dude not a huge overall pushes jerk the whole time. I had my concerns there for a minute. But just a minute. He seemed to genuinely care for her and her for him. Exciting. Drama. And love. Overall a great read.
Highlander's Prize by Calyope Adams is a good quick read. Interesting characters, fun storyline and a nice dose of spice and steam. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
So many historical errors. So implausible. So many grammatical errors. This author couldn't even remember if the villain's name was Al Hakam or Al Hazam. Such an embarrassment for Amazon to even offer this tripe.
This one was too short. I really like the first half that showed this couple getting to know one another. But the second half was too condensed. Kind of like reading the cliff notes version of a novel.
