Natalie Taylor, high priestess of the local coven, can be one crusty old curmudgeon. Even so, she doesn't like to throw cold water on happy events in the quirky town of Giles. But when mysterious triplets are born to a magical family, she's wary of the role the previous high priestess played in their births.

When a local resident is killed, one of the triplets goes missing, and rumors fly about a monster in Corey Woods, it all points to one conclusion; her old foe has a hold on the town from beyond the grave. With magic involved in the crime, it's her duty to find the missing child and bring the murderer to justice.

But how can she keep Police Chief Karl Denton from getting in her way? That man couldn't see a magical event if if kissed him on the lips and waltzed him around the room backwards. Still, even if she does manage to sneak in under his radar, it's going to take help from both the living and the dead to fill the town's empty cradle.

Jill Nojack is a writer, musician and artist. She has rarely managed to make a living from the pursuit of her creative endeavors. Instead, she is a corporate drone who stays up late to indulge her passions. This passion paid off in 2015 when her book The Familiar: Book One in the Bad Tom Series was selected by readers for publication on Kindle Press through the Kindle Scout award program.

Ms. Nojack has cred. Way back in the long ago, she romped through a degree in English. She followed it up with a Master’s degree in Sociology. During her time at University she served on the staff of the school’s literary magazine. She eventually stepped in to the editor’s role.

When she isn’t exploring her creative side, Jill enjoys laughing too loud and long in public and talking about herself in third person. She resides in the great American Midwest with a long-suffering cat.

Very disappointing... the author repeated the same thing she did in the first book. I have no interest in the Bad Tom series but really would like to know all about the events she continues to refer to. Will not be purchasing the next in this series.

The triplets that are Goddess touched and family relationships.

Wonderful. A coven of witches in plain view, triplets who might have been influenced by a goddess before birth and a murder. Who killed the loving grandmother? Is there a monster on the loose? Can the senior High Priestess take on the killer and win? Terrific characters, wonderfully complicated family ties and a intricate plot that will have you cheering for the "good" witches. Alright the culprit are easy to spot but the tale has you reading to find out all the secrets that are still out there. Hope there are more to follow.
