As an event organiser, it’s my job to be prepared for anything―and, I do mean anything. I’ve had to deal with ripped wedding dresses, drunken bridesmaids, missing groomsmen, and other unseemly things.
But nothing could have prepared me for the Donovan’s and their crazy grandma.
Or the ex-boyfriend who I hadn’t heard from since he sent me a message explaining he cheated, got her pregnant, and left town to be with her.
But mostly, nothing could have prepared me for the charming, and irresistible Drake Donovan.
I couldn’t possibly fall in love in three weeks. Not with my client’s son. Or with such distance separating us.
Every time I pick up a Lisa Helen Gray book I fall deeper in love with her words. She is an absolute genius with words and the way she makes me feel things by just ink on paper is magical. When I first met Pagan in the first book I could not help but love her. She was such a sweet soul who deserved to have a happily ever after and boy did she get one . The wish she had for a happily ever after came in the form of Drake Donovan. Drake was tall, dark, and handsome who brought butterflies to my core. The way he loved Pagan from basically the first moment he laid eyes on her, which I got to say was such a funny encounter, was so romantic. The two together were explosive and you knew they were meant to be together but because Drake was a client there was a bit of forbiddance which made their relationship even more romantic. Now, while I loved the love story between Pagan and Drake, there was one true star of this book and that was Gram’s Ada. My Lord, that woman was such a character. From the first scene she was in, I could not contain my laughter. From her loving getting revenge and pulling pranks on people and getting Pagan and Drake in on these pranks was so funny. Gram’s Ada was unpredictable and just absolutely crazy and I loved it. I loved not knowing what she was going to say, it was just the best and kept the story interesting. This Lisa Helen Gray book will go down as one of my favorite books by her. This one was divine and I am kicking myself for not reading it earlier because it was just that good. I will forever love this book and it will be tattooed in my brain forever.
Pagan Salvatore hasn’t had it easy when it comes to relationships. Instead of dealing with it, she throws herself into her work creating a very successful Party Planning business but that distraction only lasts so long. After much negotiation Pagan has reluctantly agree to take on the Donovan wedding. What Pagan didn’t know is just how much this family can get to her.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
Getting to know Pagan isn’t an easy thing to do but just when she thought she had her life all planned out the Donovan family changes everything for her, including healing her wounded heart. She’s a strong minded, determined woman but she’s also hiding from love so she won’t get hurt again. After a crappy first boyfriend and being used to get to her now sister-in-law, one can understand why she’s gun shy when it comes to love. As for business, she’s taking the party planning world by storm!
Drake is home for his brother’s wedding which turns out to be a 3 weeks long event. He’s a strong mind alpha male who knows what he wants but he’s also looking for where he belongs. He sees more in Pagan than she sees in herself but what he sees is much more than he ever thought he’d find and being with her seems natural.
When Drake and Pagan meet its instant spark, it’s like electricity goes through the room. After a series of embarrassing moments these two keep getting thrown together they start to build a connection so strong that they don’t know what to do with it. Add in Pagan’s ex-boyfriend into the mix and the couple find a way to bond over practical jokes they play on him but don’t worry Drake’s Grams Ada also knows just what to do and does it with style.
Ada has the energy of a two year but a mind of a mischievous of a teenager. All this combined has me laughing so hard that I was crying. I swear my family thought I was insane for laughing so much while reading a romance novel.
Lisa wrote an amazingly romance yet hilarious book that had you wondering what was going to happen next. The connection to the book and the characters was an instant as the spark between Drake and Pagan. Lisa gave her a romance story that left me with a book hang over when I was done. Very few books can do that for me but Lisa has now done it twice with her books.
I absolutely love all Lisa Helen Grays books, they always have that really passionate love that I love reading about.
Wishing For a Happily Ever After follows Pagan Salvatore the sister of the hero from the first book of the series. Pagans event organising business is doing really well, so well that she has allowed it to consumes her whole life, which she is ok with. When a big client insists that Pagan stay with the family a week prior to the wedding event, she can’t say no, especially since their paying her an over generous amount of money for her services. It is during this week that Pagan meets Drake the son of her client, and the chemistry between them is too much to ignore.
Let me tell you, this book was hilarious with a capital H. All the characters made me laugh so much; they get up to so much mischief during the week together. Drake’s grandmother was a hoot to read about, she was such a trouble maker and loved messing with people, I could cry from laughter at her crazy antics.
This book wasn’t at all intense like the first book and was low on drama which I didn’t mind because the comedy replaced that. Pagan did annoy me quite a bit towards the end because she kept going on about how Drake would break her heart and she couldn’t see past this concrete idea she had in her head that their relationship couldn't continue past the end of the week.
If you looking for a book to make you laugh don’t hesitate to pick Wishing for a Happily Ever after, and make sure to go check out some of Lisa Helen Gray's other series.
What a fabulous and funny read from Lisa Helen Gray. This book totally hit the spot I just didn't want it to end, it had so many laugh out loud moments and believe me when I say we all need a grams like Drake's in our lives.
Pagen is an event organiser and is hired to plan a wedding for the Donovan family. What she doesn't anticipate is falling for the grooms hot and sexy brother Drake.
Five fabulous stars from me and definitely not one to be missed!!

MUST READ! I had forgotten how much I loved Lisa's books. She had me cracking up with tearing rolling down my face while my family looked at me like I was crazy. This book gives Max Carter a run for his money. It was sweet and perfect. I cannot wait for her next book as she has an amazing writing ability!
This book was brilliant, I didn't want to put it down once I started reading. There are many laugh out loud moments and the antics that the granny gets up to were hilarious. You will need hankies and a Tena lady on hand before you begin. Well worth the 5 stars .
3.5 stars Wishing for a happily ever after is the second book in this series. However, I found the first book If I could I'd wish it all away much better. The second book is nevertheless quite entertaining and the characters are likeable.
