What a stunning graphic novel. Timothy moves to Shadow Rock to live with his father after his mom dies. This short story has all the best tropes, new kid, bullies at school, sees a ghost, unsolved murder, etc. However, it's beautiful told and illustrated. I hope this becomes a series. Children will love this book.

This book is great. It's a small town murder mystery ans ghost story all in one. Robert love's pencils are awesome. Everything is clear and the characters all look super distinct. I love the little extra touches (in the background one panel there is an homage to bluto and popeye) The mystery itself is great. Yes, it is kid stuff, but it is well executed kid stuff. There is no big deus ex or randomly inserted plot point along the way. Everything is laid out for you if you pay attention. Some of the minor themes are awesome as well. There is no subtlety when dealing with racism or class issues in this book and that is welcome. I just wish there would be more stories with any of these characters.

Good enough story and nice illustrations. Pretty formulaic mystery. Kid's mom dies, he moves from the city to a coastal fishing town to live with his distant father. He has a hard time fitting in at school. When school bullies lock him into a haunted light house, he meets a ghost and the mystery begins. I would recommend this one to kids who like graphic novels.

Good, but not great. It's partly a fun ghost story, and partly a serious murder mystery, which is a little jarring when the reader gets to the transition from one to the other. The mystery is handled a bit too abruptly, and part of the resolution doesn't work very well, but it is still fairly good.

A fun, engrossing, all-ages ghost story. Tim is the new kid in a small port town. He encounters a haunted lighthouse and must uncover the mystery of what happened to his new friend to release his spirit. I've only recently come across Jeremy Love's work and he is a fantasticly talented creator.
