In a city of sin broods an alpha tired of his past.

Criminal defense attorney Marcus Hayes’ bedroom is empty, but he can’t bring himself to fill it. Years of casual encounters and heated play sessions with seasoned submissives have left him numb—and the older he gets, the more the lifestyle loses its allure. The change he knows he needs isn’t easy to come by.

But change is closer than he thinks.

Beneath blinding strobe lights toils an omega eager for a better future.

Lucian Bracknell is finally free from the horrors of The White Lotus brothel, and for the first time in his life, he’s on his own. Independence means discovering who he is and redefining his relationship with the world, but when he lands a bartending job at The Shepherd, that world turns upside down. Behind The Shepherd’s bar counter, Lucian is untouchable, and ‘no’ is a drug he can’t get enough of.

Until his eyes lock with those of an alpha he’s not allowed to have, and those firm ‘no’s turn to whimpered ‘yes’s.

But forbidden desire this hot can’t be contained forever, and when the fires of their lust start to scorch, Marcus and Lucian will either have to succumb to the heat and face the consequences together or burn with it until one of them falls on their knees and begs for relief.

Beg is a 60,000 word BDSM-flavored novel set following the events of Obey. While best enjoyed as a sequel, it’s packed full of enough sexting, bourbon, and rope burn to be enjoyed on its own.

Piper Scott debuted as a trio of authors looking to write together for fun. Their collaboration led to three novella-length books (Love Me, Save Me, and Keep Me,) before life sent them in different directions, leaving just one author with an omegaverse plot bunny that wouldn’t leave her alone. Obey was born several months later… but the plot bunny never left—it multiplied.

Left to her own devices, Piper Scott writes scorching but heartfelt contemporary omegaverse romance about men you can’t help but fall in love with.

Also writes under the pen name Emma Alcott.

This series has been an exceptionally good read that pulls you in and has you rooting for the main characters to make it work. Neither the Lucus nor the Marcus character starts off in ideal circumstances and you sense as they find their way to one another that together they will be so much better off once they give in. We met Lucian in book #1 but didn't get much of his story since he was a "guest" character. He does have quiet a story and most of it is heartbreaking. He's working as a bartender at the club and creating a life on his own terms. With all he's been through he's still willing to trust and willingly gives himself to Marcus. Marcus is an incredible hero. He always puts Lucian's needs and happiness as his first priority. Marcus and Lucian are simply perfect together and have excellent chemistry. The two dance around trying to make sense of their attraction and claim their lives back from the brink of near disasters. Lucian has had a huge trauma in his life and Marcus suffers from depression. Along the way, they both find what they need in the other. It's a truly fantastic read and not as depressing as it sounds.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Obey, the first book in this series, but since everyone was raving about book three (Stay), I wanted to read this one to move on to book three. I’m glad I did, because I enjoyed this one much more. Part of that was because I felt more of an emotional connection with the characters, and part was because there was more BSDM—though I still wouldn’t mind seeing a bit more.

I really dig the combination of Mpreg with the Alpha/Omega dynamics and BDSM. It’s one of the reasons why I’d still like to see more of the BSDM interaction, because that combo is what sets these books apart.

Marcus and Lucian have great chemistry. I loved that Lucas felt conflicted about some aspects of the relationship, but never about his attraction to Marcus or acting on it. He wasn’t a ‘shy virgin’ type, and in that sense, pretty much Marcus’ equal, despite the D/s dynamic.

The D/s dynamic is done well. Marcus is portrayed as a loving Dom, one who is above all focused on the pleasure of his sub, not merely his own. I loved how he took care of Lucian, especially after scenes. The sex, needless to say, was pretty damn hot.

The pacing of this book felt way more natural to me than that in the first book. While technically, this is an mpreg ‘universe’, Lucian doesn’t become pregnant right away, and I appreciated that, because it fit both characters. There’s a promise of more in the happy end, and it was perfect for these two.

I loved this book. It was better than the first one. Marcus is certainly a hot alpha dom. It just touched all my right places.

This one felt weird to me. It had a good story, it was interesting, and it wasn't like it was too slow or boring for me. But I just couldn't feel the chemistry between Marcus and Lucian no matter how hard I tried.

There was a sex scene here or that had the potential to be hot for me, and some parts of them were hot...but overall I just didn't connect to these two together. They were both enjoyable characters, both interesting, but...there was something missing with them. I didn't quite feel it.

Maybe because the sex was so focused on Lucian and his pleasure - which is totally fine! Give him all the pleasure, he deserved it! But so little of it was focused on what Marcus was feeling during sex that it felt almost one sided. It didn't bring about the connection I was looking for. Like sure Marcus liked what he was seeing and loved being dominant...but I didn't get much of his arousal and lust, and at times, not even Lucian's.

And maybe the BDSM aspect took out some of the intimacy...but I've also read BDSM stories that can definitely bring the intimacy in with it, so...I dunno.

While this was a good story and I enjoyed it at times, the main relationship didn't have enough chemistry and intimacy for me. I didn't by it when they said they loved each other, it didn't feel earned to me at all.

So giving this 3 stars for a good story, good plot and good writing, but without the main couple to pull me in that much, I have to give this 3 stars.

I am new to the Alpha/Omega genre. Piper Scott does an outstanding job explaining the concept while keeping true to the story. This book is smoking, with a couple of BDSM scenes...nothing too heavy. This is the 2nd book in the series. I had not read the first one but never felt behind or lost. I will be reading it soon. I look forward to more from this author.

This series is getting better. 🥰

Don't get me wrong, I loved Obey and Crawford and Owen are still my babies, but Lucien and Marcus? Oh, boy... these two are fire.

I am glad that we got to hear more from Crawford and that we got to be present to their wedding, that was a nice detail that made the first two books connect in a way. I can't wait to see how this will keep going in the next books.

Now, back to 'Beg' I just wanna say that it both amuses me and pisses me off how these titles mean the exact opposite in the books. I read and read and keep waiting for sht to hit the fan, but this doesn't happen and I am happy. Beg has a different meaning in this book, in a way... Idk how to explain without spoilers so you will have to find this one out by yourself.

Lucien did not have an easy life, and when we first meet him in 'Obey' he is still putting his life back together. 'Beg' is about him getting to live said life, and Marcus is only there to make everything better.

We get from attraction to lust, to passion, and stolen moments, to a love so deep and powerful that will let you feel like your heart was stolen too. Marcus not only made everything better, he gave Lucien back the power that was stolen from him. He showed Lucien in practice what Owen taught him in therapy. It was nice to see Lucien evolve as a character, grow, embrace his independent with a pinch of submission.

Marcus was everything that Lucien needed, as I mentioned in kther words above, but the opposite is true as well. Lucien came into Marcus' life and brought with him all the light that was missing. He made Marcus start living with joy again. You can say that L gave M years back, injected life into his bloodstream.

They are such a great pair, just like Owen and Crawford are for each other, and I am excited for what's to come since I still have 3 books left in the series.

If you are a fan of audiobooks I highly recommend giving this one a try. The bundle is amazing, the narrator is doing a perfect job, and in said bundle bonus content was added.

Loved this one. Highly recommend readinf them in order tho'.

Awww... this was so sweet!

You know, I never thought I’d be able to use the word “sweet” in a story about couples practicing the BDSM lifestyle. Granted, this wasn’t hardcore BDSM, but even then, during their scenes, it was so tender and sweet!!

I like the play on puns here. One works behind the bar of a club. And another one passed the bar and works as a lawyer. That didn’t come out quite right. But it just tickled me that both of them have careers that relate to a “bar” even if it means different things for both.

Anyways, it was sweet. I like that they solved conflicts the moment they arise and the authors didn’t use it as a plot line to push the story forward. Very impressed with these authors! On to the next book!!

This book is a sequel to Obey, but features a different couple and can stand on its own.

Before Obey, I'd never run across the idea of BDSM *with* Alpha/omega dynamics, but I loved it. And much as I loved it, I think I loved this one even MORE.

Lucian and Marcus were both complex, interesting characters. Because it was written in dual POV, you really understood Marcus' boredom with the same scene he's been around for years, and why Lucian is such a breath of fresh air (that's forbidden, since he WORKS at the kink club, and isn't a member). You also understand Lucian's hesitation to give up his freedom to an alpha after bad experiences in the past.

Their relationship progresses in a natural, believable way, over the course of weeks of encounters, with a few (also believable) setbacks. The BDSM aspects were explained SO WELL in this book - not just what was physically happening, but the reasoning behind it. There were moments that a big lightbulb flashed over my head and made me go "OH!!!!" Like this one:

“Every freedom of yours that I take away, I take into myself.” Marcus kept his voice above a whisper, but still low enough that the statements were intimate. [. . .] “When I limit you, I take the responsibility of your care onto my shoulders. Everything I do, I do to set you free of the limits you’ve imposed upon yourself.”

Suddenly, cuffs and blindfolds and such make so much more sense to me. And seeing the care and affection lavished on Lucian after a scene made me realize it wasn't just a power trip, as borne out by this moment:

He rubbed a thumb across Lucian’s cheek. “I am devoted to your pleasure. I never want you to forget that.”

As an aside, the writing in this book is just amazing. Somehow, the author takes something as mundane as ice cubes dropping into a glass and turns it into something beautiful.

I was really happy with how this ended. It gave the reader a glimpse into their future, without having to unrealistically rush things.

Can't wait for the next in the series!!!!

I loved this addition to the M/M Omegaverse series by Piper Scott. Marcus and Lucian are perfect together and have excellent chemistry. I liked how independent Lucian has become and how he has embraced the ability to say no. I also liked Marcus and how he works around the rules of the club and their anti fraternization rules between patrons and employees. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. "If you’re not having fun, there’s no point in playing, is there? Sex is about mutuality. If you’re not enjoying it, all I’m doing is masturbating, and I would rather do that on my own than hurt you by making you do it for me." -Marcus 💖

I liked this more than Book one and three. Also where can I get a Marcus please? 😋😍😘💖💕

They were perfect for each other. I loved watching Marcus give him everything he needed. I felt like the relationship between Lucian and Marcus was more of a relationship with play as an added component rather than all play. It was nice to see Lucian get more independent and confident. They were so f’ing hot together. I’m happy we got to see Owen and Crawford’s wedding.

Re-read 9/8-11: just as good the second time around.

I loved seeing how strong Lucien could be with the support of Marcus, instead of feeling beaten down by the alpha who had enslaved him. Having read the Single Dads Support Group stories, I know that Adrian is redeemable, but I don't see from this book how it's possible. Guess I'll just have to keep reading this series to find out!

This can be read as a standalone. There are spoilers though about the previous couple so read in order to avoid them.

I loved the first book and first couple but this was a big disappointment on both parts.

Firstly, like in book 1 we got another name, "Fledgling", for the sub that was total cringe and overused imo. I get that it could fit him as a newbie to the lifestyle but it can have a negative connotation so I couldn't help but cringe everytime it was said.

I still enjoyed the world this author has created at the club but the main side character in this was Adrian whom I thought was a good and intriguing character in book 1. He was sassy and fun in it. The author totally blew up his character in this book by making him the villain. It made me hate him and not want to read his book, which is next in this serious. Not sure why the author would make a bad choice like that imo. The villain could have easily been anyone else that we don't have to hear from again. I don't even care to know how he will redeem himself.

I did finish the book, mostly due to its quick length and the narrator, but there was no part that I particularly enjoyed.

I didn't really like either of the MCs. Marcus came off as cold, rude and super pushy and manipulative. I felt bad for Lucien at first due to his backstory and I was rooting for him to become the independent and strong character he wanted to become but that only lasted briefly. I felt like there was no character development in his case. The plot line the author chose was just not fitting for this type of character, especially with their backstory.

I didn't feel any real chemistry between the 2 MCs other than heat. I felt like Marcus treated Lucien like an object. It was all heat and no communication or substance between the 2 men.

MD did an amazing narration as always. His voice is a pleasure to listen to. Like always he kept a great pace, expressed all the emotions wonderfully, gave all the characters including the side characters their own distinct voice that suited each of them perfectly and he brought the story to life.

“Love won’t let you fail. There will be times when it might feel like it’s leaving you short, but if what you feel is true, everything will work out in the end. Love won’t make you beg.”

Wow! An absolute treasure find! I wasn't expecting anything, just searching for something new to read and then I got my hands onto this one. Even diving head on with no background info or synopsis browsing, it's easy to catch up.

Lucian and Marcus are just so perfect for each other. They each held pieces of my heart as the story went on, with Lucian and his struggle for independence and Marcus and his change of heart to his totally romantic ways. They're just so mature and understanding with each other that their open communication makes me admire the both of them so much.

Even the book cover is beautiful!

However, one issue I had with this is it brushed away some small details like what happened to Adrian and Clarissa? It all faded away with Lucian and Marcus' last scene. Or the case?

But aside from that, everything went perfectly.

“Every freedom of yours that I take away, I take into myself. When I limit you, I take the responsibility of your care onto my shoulders. Everything I do, I do to set you free of the limits you’ve imposed upon yourself.” -Marcus 😍

“Have you heard of phantom limbs before? When someone loses a body part, sometimes the person will still feel that limb there. The body mourns the parts of itself that it lost and remembers them, just like we remember a loved one who’s passed.”
“So if I’m a part of you, do you feel it when I’m gone? Does your body remember me even when we’re apart?” - Lucian 💕

***I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

This was another great story from the author and for the OmegaVerse series. This book revolves around a recently released omega patient from the rehabilitation center. The book is about starting over, second chances, learning about yourself, becoming independent, and standing up for yourself.

Lucian Bracknell's life before the rehab facility was hell. He's worked hard for a year to get back onto his own two feet. Living hand to mouth was OK but a full-time job would be welcome and he gets one at a members-only kink club named The Shepherd. Marcus defense attorney and Shepard member finds that he life has become stale and lifeless. His good friend Crawford Daniels tells him that "doing it right is more important than doing it quickly". Crawford was referring to his own recently found happiness with his omega. That very night Marcus sees Lucian at the Shepard club as a new full-time bartender. The two men are instantly attracted to one another but staff can't fraternize with club members.

Marcus and Lucian have individual issues and secrets that could affect their budding relationship and future happiness. Can Lucian learn that he is already strong and that getting into a relationship and leaning on Marcus didn't make him weak? Would this relationship fulfill Marcus and cure his apathy and dissatisfaction in his life? These two men have a bumpy ride before they can reach their HEA but the story is a great and entertaining read. Get a copy and see what I mean about this book, this series, and this author.

New author for me as I stumbled across Piper since I adore Michael Dean's narrations - I decided to give His Command Series a go and I am hooked. Sure some folks may find BDSM, Kink , and TPE a bit harsh but I think this author has written it with taste . This second book in the series we dig into Omega Lucian and Alpha Marcus world . These two met in a kink club Shepard and sparks fly .The problem with that is Lucian works there and Marcus is a member of the club. They have a strict no fratenizing with the staff. Marcus was drawn to Lucian the moment their eyes locked . Marcus is not your ordinary Dom , the attorney by day has strict rules , he plays and once it's over good bye. Lucian is recovering from something so horrific that happened in his past afraid to let another DOM ,in his life to own him . Marcus and Lucian take us on a journey of trust, redemption and true love look like in their world . I am so amazed at this series I plan to listen to them all . Book 1 was an appetizer with Crawford the Billionaire and Owen the rehabilitation Counsler come together to say the least ( we get to see what the outcome of their love story as characters continue to cross over from book to book ) . Narrator Micheal Dean brought these characters to life with his emotion and the ability to separate the voices so the listener knows which character is talking . Love it - If you love MM , set in Omega verse with Mpreg and a lot of sexy time this is your book . Now off to book 3 Stay - Adrian and Kink club owner Sterling Holt ..... Enjoy

4 Stars!

Beg is book 2 in the His Command series by Piper Scott and it can technically be read as a standalone, however, the couple from book 1 features in this one and I really liked their story, so I suggest reading them in order.

While I liked Marcus and my heart broke for all Lucien had to go through, I wasn't completely engrossed in their story. Yes, they were hot together, but it felt a bit, I don't know, forced maybe? At least at first. It got better and by the epilogue, I even shed a few tears at how much Marcus and Lucien had grown as a couple.

Unfortunately, and this is more my issue than anything else, there were some plot points that were left unresolved or weren't really addressed in the end and that left me unsatisfied. First and foremost, the whole Adrian thing, really, I would've hoped for him to get his just desserts after how he treated Lucien. And then, the thing with the human trafficking case, which was just glossed over, why mention it if you're not doing anything with it?

Michael Pauley did an amazing job with the narration, though. His voice is very pleasant and while in some of his earlier works, it felt like he got a bit hyper, he's learned to modulate his tone and deliver a solid performance.

While not my favorite book, if possible grab the audio, Michael Pauley truly made the experience a whole lot better than just reading the story would have.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This book follows Obey, but I feel you could read this without reading the previous book (though the background would be helpful).

I will admit that this book was a bit hit or miss combined for me. I wasn't necessarily a big fan of Marcus or Lucian on their own, but I loved seeing them together. Part of me really didn't like the sneaking around aspect of Marcus and Lucian's relationship, I know the "forbidden" aspect is a draw for some, but it was more of a turn-off for me.

I really liked how well Marcus could read Lucian, it showed that he was actually caring about Lucian and not just forcing Lucian to fit his idea of perfect. I also really liked seeing Lucian gaining some more confidence, finding a balance that worked for his life. I hope we'll get to see more of them in future books, see how their relationship continues to develop.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey’s books)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

Well this is my sign that me and this series are not a match made in heaven. Lucian was so delightfully sassy in Obey that I had high hopes for his journey. Yet Lucian's attitude seemed like a front that fizzled out over the course of the story. And Marcus just seemed to view Lucian as an object.

Honestly there wasn't a whole lot I liked in this story other than the secondary character cameos. Lucian had so much potential, and his initial confidence was enticing. He was all about his independence, earning his own way, and being in control of his own future. But the second he laid eyes on Marcus, that all went out the window. Within weeks they were living together, Lucian quit his job, and they were practically tied at the hip and this was disappointing to say in the least. Lucian's journey didn't line up with the man I was initially introduced to in Obey

Then there is Marcus who felt like the definition of degrading. I didn't like his 'pet' name for Lucian or how he treated Lucian. And while Marcus' inner monologue continued to proclaim how he was all about Lucian, I found that contradictory. Marcus felt very set in his ways and inflexible. I just didn't see the chemistry between these two. There was just a lot of sex and no balance or substance to carry the relationship.

Beg by Piper Scott I loved this book. Lots of emotions and great memorable characters. This is the first time I have read Ms. Scott’s writing and I was not lost reading this book.
This book is written in both points of view. They alternate back and forth. I liked that could get into the emotions of both characters well by doing this.
Lucien is an Omega. He has been abused. He is just getting his life back. He is very brave, kind, and has an inner strength that made me cheer for him. He has his GED, and is just 21 years old. He has seen a lot of life for his tender age. He has a ton of spunk and determination. He wants to be more than just someone waiting for an Alpha to rescue him.

Marcus has given up on finding the perfect mate. He is Dominate and doesn’t want an Omega just interested in being kept by him. He wants a partner. He is a defense lawyer by day and a Dominate by night.
I really liked that Marcus is a very understanding person. He is willing to let Lucien lead and knows when to take the lead himself.
Over all I loved this book. Great characters, super writing, and a great pace to it all. Very memorable and I would want more from these characters in the future.

I was totally and completely drawn to this book by the cover. It is stunning! I just love the look on Lucian's face and he's absolutely gorgeous. There was no way I could pass this book up.

I love the world that Piper Scott has created. It's contemporary and interesting but we get the alpha/beta/omega dynamic. And she does it so well. You can't help but fall for her characters and want them to be together.

And she writes some of the hottest and sexiest sex scenes I've ever read. I was pretty sure my Kindle was going to combust during Obey but these guys...there's no words. That first encounter by text...I almost died. Seriously. And that last one...let's just say my husband went to be a very happy man!

Lucian and Marcus's story got me though. I loved the slow tease as they got to know each other and then their clandestine meetings in the alley. It was such a great buildup to their explosive sex. I liked Lucian's strength and Marcus's protectiveness. And when he began seeing Lucian with a baby bump and as a dad, my heart melted. I absolutely adore them.

I just love it when alphas get all possessive and protective. Especially when they have sworn they’d never be fall in love. Famous last words 🤭

Marcus was convinced his time to find someone to love and settle down with was up. That he was destined to live the rest of his life alone. Until Lucian.

The beautiful broken omega who had been through a living hell and was working himself up to be the best version of him. Someone who could rely on only himself and would never submit to another alpha.

But fate had other plans. And Lucian found himself realizing that plans change and sometimes the best things happen when they’re not planned.

Marcus was everything he never knew he needed yet he can’t help but be thankful for him. All Marcus wanted was to see Lucian become the man he knew he could be and just wanted to be by his side when that happened.

Lucian gave Marcus the happiness he thought he’d never have. Someone to love, cherish and care forever.

I don’t know where I’ve been that I didn’t know about this series. But I’m so glad I found it because it’s absolutely fantastic!
