After the death of his creator, in accordance to his master’s last wish, an Elder Lich embarks on a journey to find his purpose in life. Along the way, he will have countless encounters, and he will meet numerous adversaries. Follow him on his journey to fulfill the last wish of his master. Follow him on his journey as he realizes that he is more than just a creature created to perish as a shield. This is the story of Jiablu, the strongest undead caster.
This was an enjoyable story from M. Sisa/Michael Sisa/Silvercockroach. I wish he would just put all his stuff out under the same name so it wouldn't be so hard to find. It almost makes me wonder if he is unsatisfied with his writings and is constantly trying to start with a clean slate.
For anyone who has read his other stories such as Legend of the Archmagus or Lord of the Apocalypse, you will notice there are similarities his works have. The writing itself is pretty basic with some clunky word choices at times. It seems like maybe an English second language or a translation issue, but it seems to be improving significantly based on the Archmagus series.
I'm unsure if this story takes place in the same world as Archmagus or whether some elements are just being recycled, but it's kind of fun to think about in the meantime.
The story has an interesting character setup that follows an Elder Lich who goes on a journey of discovery after his creator and master dies. His master's last wish was that his generals, such as the Elder Lich, try to find a purpose in life. Our lich character, Jiablu, uses magic to restore and inhabit the corpse of a recently deceased child and the story unfolds with this powerful undead in a child's body trying to understand the point of living from one of the most pathetic and short-lived creatures he knows of: humans.
This book is just a setup for a series, but so far there aren't any additional books. I hope that changes sometime in the near future because I am enjoying M. Sisa's books.
This is an interesting one. A Elder Lich's Master dies, and as a dieing whish he asks his Minions to find their "purpose in life". Due to this the allmighty Elder Lich posesses a small boy and tries to blend in with humanity. But how does an a Being of vast power pretend to be a small boy?
The Situations that occur, and the haughty and crass way the Lich talks to the "inferior human maggots" regardless of station made me chuckle a few times. Since the MC is most likely the strongest undead caster to walk the earth even his "small" actions pose a conundrum for the Humans he interacts, since his Powers exeeds theirs extensively.
My only regret is that there is only one book out, and the Author M.J.Sisa has multiple Series in the making, so a new installment might take a while. Will definitely buy the next installments of this series
really really amazing book cant wait for book 2. hope the author writes it soon. Long story short if ur looking for something different from your average magical fantasy with a spice of drama i would really recomend this book
An over powered undead enter the realm of the humans as a child. Very nice plot and mechanisms and an amazing setup for the series. Looking forward to the next book!
I downloaded this book on a whim and I must admit it makes me hunger for more. The premise was completely unknown to me and works really well. hopefully, the secondary characters and the lore of the world get fleshed out more in the next book. The dream scene where the main character speaks to his god was really well done. Only given 4 stars as there was a couple of typos that brought me put of the book a little. Over all though it is a very good read and I eagerly await book 2
Atrocious. The characters are somehow less than one dimensional, the story is forced, and the author needs to have someone proofread for him. There are so many grammar mistakes I began to question whether English was the author's second language. Which is fine, but get someone to proofread your work. I want my 3 dollars back.
