A really excellent folklore resource with some absolutely gorgeous illustrations.
However this book is very of its time with racism/ableism being rampant throughout. It talks of folklore traditions that are extremely racist and ableist terms for disability as well as some of the illustrations depicting this. Would read with a critical eye but majority of it was extremely interesting.
For the most part, very interesting. Very of it's time, so read with that in mind. Some parts dragged on a bit and seemed to be in a strange order. Particularly loved the chapters on "Cures and Remedies", "Fairies, Ghosts and Black Dogs" and "Giants, Jack O Lanterns and The Devil". Lots of stories I've not heard before.
