An era when America changed. Not for the good. Corruption in Chicago, with the likes of Al Capone. Also, good characters, like Rudolph Valentino and Louis Armstrong.

One Shining Moment put me in the early 1900's. It was a time of change. World War I is over and a new feeling of freedom spreads across the United States.

Following the Stuart family, one feels the excitement, adventure, and in some cases, heartbreak. Lylah goes to the silver screen. Jerry flies.

The reader took to the skies. I loved that. Spent time with gangsters. I didn't like that.

American Century

Gilbert Morris is one of my favorite Christian authors. He tells a good story but also bases his writings on carrying the salvation message and includes scripture to allow a reader to be able to accept Jesus as their Lord and saviour.
Mr. Morris also writes many of his stories as a series so you can follow the storyline over several books instead of a single volume.

First book by this author. Given to me by a friend. Did not realize this was 3rd in the series but it was still good as a stand alone. Not a book that I would have chosen on my own but I'm glad I pushed myself to read it. I liked the mix of fictional and real life characters. The touch of Christianity life made it refreshing.

This book is Christian historical fiction set in Chicago during the gangster/prohibition/flapper period after WWI. It held my interest throughout with a great mix of real and fictional characters. It is the third book about the Stuart family (The American Century Series), but didn’t feel I missed anything because I hadn’t read the first two.

Another book that I read to Diana. We can't do much anymore after her stroke, so I read to her to spend time together. Diana has always loved to have someone to read to her - and I like to do just that.
