Tyler is on his way home to spend time with his father before he passes away from lung cancer. He has spent the past 15 years figuratively running away from home, having made a life—and billions—for himself in Birmingham, Alabama. But now that it is time to come home for a visit to Rainbow, Texas, he is feeling conflicted.
And a big reason for that is Kelsi, the high school sweetheart who broke up with him and broke his heart. Of course, she has a different perspective on just who broke whose heart back then. Needless to say, she had no intentions of ever getting back with him, but thanks to a bet from his friends, he decides to try to woo her once more.
Despite her best efforts, Kelsi ends up falling for him, only to have the bet revealed ton her. Unfortunately, Tyler has truly fallen for her as well. Will she be able to get past his betrayal?
Billionaires Bet is a standalone billionaire romance with a HEA, no cheating.
LOL. I have to stop with these "light readings" just to pass time because these readings I am choosing are more for the stupid side. I assume with no shame I like the overused plot of "betting on the female mc " because I enjoy the whole drama following when the bet is discovered. Lol. But this book isn't entertaining at all. Pages and pages of useless information as if the author needed to fulfill a mandatory number of words. Tiresome. First we spend a lot of time reading about the male's father terminal cancer. He's in a hospice and I've never seen people so happy about a person about to die. And I am not being sarcastic. Male mc, sister and mother was just there waiting for the man to die like he was literally going on a trip to a better place. The way this subject was written was so emotionless. Like an everyday occurrence on anyone's life. You know who was suffering with this poor father's death? the female mc who barely saw the man in 15 years since the break up with the hero. Comic. And the male mc was the one to comfort her. And when he actually died male mc went after the female mc for whatever reason, he laughed about something and went to break in in a abandoned farm to have sex. I understand people grief in different ways, but I wouldn't know how to be so cool if a loved one died. Or maybe it's just me who would be heart broken if a parent with whom I have a tight relationship with was about to die. I would be in complete despair. But to each their own. The mc's.. well I will not hold against any of them the break up reason. They were teens. Even though she just broke up with him with zero explanation, he never cared to ask why she did it. They both went in their merry way. Of course the hero moved on and had many, many, many ,many women. The female we were told she did move on as well, but it wasn't believable. And she had a kid whose father disappeared as soon as he found out about the pregnancy. IMO, convenient plot. And you know what happened right? 15 years later when she saw the man again she became weak, needy, mesmerized, speechless etc etc because the guy was hot. Even hotter than in high school. Who would think this would happen? Me. But I really was hopeful she would not give in so easily. Silly me. Don't I ever learn? He straightly told her he wanted to have sex with her and pressed his body to her and she just forgot all her reasons why she should say no. This woman is 33 yo. So you know, male's beauty and hotness just erased 15 years of separation. Also she was a push over who couldn't stand up for her choices doing always what others wanted her to do, specially her sister, an irritating immature brat, and her friend, an immature annoying person.. They were horrible immature people ( I can hold this against then because the mcs were too lol. It's in the book "genes"). They were always pushing the heroine around forcing her to date because you know, why being a single mother whose priority was raising her son if you could date and have sex and being a happy person and a better mother? After all, no woman can be happy being by herself. And what is worse is how shallow they are. Because it wasn't any guy they wanted her to date. It should be a billionaire. Because who knows, he could fall in love with her (and her son) and live hea. Like her sister said. "Maybe you could be an even happier mother if you went on a few dates and took sometime for yourself. " Add insult to injury, their parents were about to lose their ranch that was their family livelihood and all the 2 airhead could think is why the female mc wasn't dating and have sex. This book is bad from beginning to end. After the second separation I skipped to the end. A lukewarm one btw. Zero chemistry between the 2. He said multiple times he wasn't going to stay but he thanked her for the time together and he was even considering a future with a woman after their short "fling". He never once was willing to stay for/with her. Just when he got back to his real life he realized the mistake. He was in love with her. Should I feel touched? I was super annoyed and not convinced. And our girl just took him back. THE END. Sorry for the rambling and the mess of my review. Things just come to my mind and I write them down. No time dor editing. I would NOT recommend this book.

A sensually sweet emotionally charged tale of the billionaire playboy being brought back to reality by the High School love and hometown girl who carved a place in his heart 15 years ago.
I love these kinds of stories! SO. MUCH. FEELS. ALL. OVER. THE. PLACE. Tyler and Kelsi's story is one I started and had no interest in putting down, watching the slow sensual heat wave relationship form and grow between the two of them, I was completely enamored! This heartbreaking, frustrating ( Dumb Men! ) witty, second chance romance not only surprised me but captured my attention right away. I figured, as much I love a good second chance romance this would be similar to others I have read- Well I was wrong! Claire Adams a lot going on in the lives of these characters it gives this story several dimensions, and even more of a worthwhile read! This is only the second book I have had the pleasure of reading by this author, but is clear after today's creative read I need to move her other books further up towards the top on my TBR list! IMO definite #ONECLICK material Standalone/ Dual POV I voluntarily read an advance readers copy of this book ** Just want to say big thanks to the Author for getting that song you know the one " Come on Barbie lets go..." stuck in my head on loop... EH**
I usually like Claire Adams a lot but I had a hard time warming up to this couple. The hero made a bet that he could sleep with the heroine and any time that happens it's pretty much guaranteed that the hero is a smug braggart with jerk friends, unable to take no for an answer. His father is dying and he's focused on getting into her pants.
This is a tiny thing but because I was already annoyed by the hero it annoyed me that a lot of the dialogue is accompanied with, "I teased", "he joked", "she laughed". If someone says something funny I'd like it to be clear without pointing it out constantly.
Tyler is a very devoted family man when it comes to his father, mother and sister. When it comes to woman, he's still has a lot of growing up to do. He is one of the wealthiest bachelors under the age of 40 and a cover model for a dating website. He's missing something but has yet to figure out what it is. Kelsi still lives in her hometown that she grew up in. She loves working on the ranch and is happy. She is missing something as well. She just cannot find a guy in her hometown that she either doesn't know well, isn't interested in or just can't stand him. Tyler and Kelsi dated through high school until she broke up with him 6 months before graduation. Why? He wouldn't stick up for her when his friend made fun of her. After 15 years they are back where it all started. Tyler came back because his father is dying and it just so happens to be their 15 year school reunion. Kelsi doesn't want to go but her sister and friend talk her into it. What will happen when they see each other again? Can you forgive something that happened all those year ago? What will happen when a bet is made and the person it involves finds out? I could tell you but what fun is that. I'm not that reviewer to tell you either, so you really need to pick this book up. There is a lot of comedy, ups and downs as well as a second chance romance. Well worth your time. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.
I absolutely love Claire Adams. Her writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story. Each book in this series has been amazing and I've fallen for each of the characters for their personalities and stories. This book was no different, each of the characters' personalities are perfect and their attitudes toward the events that are happening makes the story even richer.
Tyler and Kelsi have a second chance at love after 15 years apart. When they were together in high school, an incident left her embarrassed and Tyler didn't defend her the way she thought he should have. After fighting the feelings she still has for him, Kelsi finally gives in and starts spending time with Tyler. Watching their relationship blossom while Tyler is going through such a difficult time was beautiful, and his way of seeing things so positively was refreshing. I was heartbroken when things ended, but the way Tyler was able to win her back was astounding.
I definitely will be recommending this book to everyone. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Tyler and Kelsi grew up together in Rainbow, TX. Tyler made a mistake when they were in high school and she dumped him.
15 years later... Tyler Pace hase to come home to help his mom and sister take care of his dying dad. He leaves his multibillion dollar investment firm in the hands of his very capable partner in Alabama while he's in TX. He's making plans with his best friend Bryce and they discuss the 15 year high school reunion and one of mentions they need to invite their other friend Mike. All 3 show up at the reunion. Kelsi Sullivan has lived in Rainbow, TX all her on her parents horse farm. Her sister and best friend are trying to get her to go to the reunion but the last thing she wants to do is go to another reunion not to mention see Tyler. She does go and ends up having a good time and is a total knock out.
While at the reunion Mike bets Tyler that he can't get Kelsi to sleep with him and like an idiot Tyler takes the bet. Does Kelsi give Tyler a second chance? Does Kelsi find out about the bet?
Tyler and kelsi dated in high school until kelsi broke up with Tyler because he didn't defend her when his friends teased her. Well now it's 15 years later and Tyler is a multimillionaire and sleeps around. Kelsi still lives in rainbow Texas helping out with the family farm. When Tyler comes home for a few weeks to see his dying father his best friend wants him to come to their high school reunion. While there Tyler makes a bet he can get kelsi to sleep with him. Third extra book is called Boss's Virgin with Ian and Daisy. Fourth extra book is called the Single Dad with Blake and Emily. The last extra book is called Slammed Box set with Evie and Zack.
Grab your tissues, something cold to drink, and go to your quiet place where you allow your imagination to take flight...and read this book. Claire Adams has gifted us once again with an amazing second chance romance. This one pushes all the right buttons, so don't be surprised when the storyline draws you in and you become one with the characters. It's beautifully written--you feel everything the characters feel. The emotions are so real; the situations are also painfully real as well. HEA? It comes at a price felt by everyone. This book should definitely be at the top of your reading list...so 1-Click this bad boy today! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was absolutely blown away by it!). ❤️
I loved, loved, loved this book! This is probably the best second chance romance I have read all year. Claire Adams spins a stunning tale of high school sweethearts reconnecting after 15 years apart. There are secrets, a bet, death, passion, chemistry and most of all love. This is a fantastic story that you do not want to miss. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Hero, Tyler = 5/5 Heroine, Kelsie = 5/5 Chemistry = 5/5 Sex = 5/5 Plot = 3/5 Mystery = 1/5 Action = 1/5 Darkness = 2/5 Humor = 2/5 POV = dual Would I recommend this book = yes Would I re-read this book = yes Would I read future books by this author = yes
I was provided an Advanced Review Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. What a wonderful love story that expands over 15 years of the lives of Rancher and single mom, Kelsie; and, Tyler, her ex-high school boyfriend and billionaire who came back home to be there for his terminally-ill father. It's very touching to read how Tyler and his family come to terms with end of life issues as well as Kelsie and her family have their own stages of life issues to mourn. Ms Adams, the author, does such a great job with the storyline and character development. Warning: Tissue box close by is not a bad idea. Enjoy!
A very well written story - as usual when it comes to Claire Adams. The characters are very well described and they develop a lot through the story. Taylor changes very much. Kelsi was very immature and I hated that but she gets better to the end. I liked the plot and the way it is written. The story is about getting a second chance and dare to take it. There is a lot of hot chemistry between the main characters and steamy scenes. There are drama, betrayal, heartbreak, hot scenes and about finding what is important to you. I can only recommend this book to others.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Excellent contemporary billionaire second chance romance. Tyler was coming home for two reasons. He needed to spend as much time as possible with his dying father. Tyler also realized he wanted to spend time with Nelsi. Kelsi and Tyler were high school sweethearts but she dumped him because he didn't defend her when his friends teased her. Tyler is now a wealthy man who can date anyone he wants but he realizes quickly that Kelsi is his. Unfortunately Tyler has plans to return home after his father passes. The story has humor, flirting, heartache and love. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Adams.
I enjoyed this one. Kelsi and Tyler were high school sweethearts but broke up before the finished school. He moved away and became a billionaire playboy and she stayed in their little town on her family farm. Tyler comes back to have the remaining time with his ailing father and his friend talks him into going to their 15 year class reunion. When they are there, his friends bet him that he can't get her into bed. He takes the bet but doesn't expect them to fall into old behaviors and old feelings. I like the characters and the growth in them. Dual POV. I do wish they would have included Clyde more but still enjoyable. I received this as an ARC for my honest review.
Tyler and Kelsi have a second chance at love it they can be honest with one another and open their hearts. He gets involved in a bet that can ruin it all.
While it is not a new storyline, the author does a really good job with it. I liked how she developed the characters and the relationship. You definitely sense the connection between them from the beginning and want them to make it work. I was unhappy with Tyler at first but he does have good points to his character.
This is a great second chance romance. Kelsi and Tyler each thought that the other broke their heart in high school and they moved on – away from each other. Tyler moved away to make his fortune while Kelsi remained in their Texas home town. A 15 year class reunion brings them back together and then apart again. Lots and drama, surprises and suspense. No spoiler here so can't say how the love birds ended up, but this is a great book. Claire Adams has another winner and it was my good fortune to receive an arc copy. I voluntarily chose to review it.
Each new book by Claire Adams is like a gift of chocolate from a dear friend. Compelling story, expertly crafted characters, beautiful moments of heartache and love, everything you want in a novel is right here, every time. This book centers around Tyler and Kelsi as they get a second chance at their HEA. Sometimes I wanted to just smack Tyler, but eventually he mans up and proves he deserves her. Their chemistry is explosive and there's humor laced throughout. Just a great, couldn't-put-it-down read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Tyler and Kelsi's story was a low heat, slow burn, second chance romance about to high school sweethearts finding their way back to each other and discovering what is truly important. I loved how they related to each other even after 15 years. If you would like a low drama, feel good read give this well written book a try.
I was gifted an advance reader copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
Tyler & Kelsi was high school sweethearts but their relationship ended when his friends couldn't stop making fun of her. At their HS reunion, Tyler was going to see Kelsi and didn't know how it was going to be. Both still feel the connection but when Mike & Tyler make a bet it could ruin everything. Tyler knows he will never find a love like Kelsi and will do anything to get her back. Good story w/ great characters.

A second chance at love. Tyler and Kelsi get their second chance at love when Tyler comes home to be with his dying father. On his first day back he makes a stupid bet about Kelsi. Then they get serious about each other. Of course Kelsi finds out about the bet and Tyler loses her. It takes him 6 months but he gets her back. A great story with excellent characters and a guaranteed happy ending. I volunteered for a arc of this book
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book...,
I love Claire Adams' books. This one is no exception. I love Tyler and how he changed over the course of the story. Kelsi to me was a little immature and got on my nerves quite a bit throughout the story. I loved the plot and how everything ended. Of course, Tyler was near and dear to my heart because he was living in my hometown, Birmingham, Alabama! The storyline flowed smoothly throughout. It was a short, fast paced read!
This story was so real. The trials of a relationship. Frustrating, sweet, maddening, and great sex.
I couldn't love the bank scene any more. Tyler was so incredibly cute. Nothing is sweeter than when a strong powerful man who fumbles with his words. Claire has a great writing style and the story was all perfectly plotted and with incredible details. I was drawn into her vision and Can't wait to explore more of her work.
Immature playboy is reunited with family and a lost love then is smacked in the face by a dumb thoughtless bet. Yeah! But seriously I cried like a baby over this story of Kelsi and Tyler. Great story with angst and difficulty in getting these two together. Proving you never know what you have until its gone. I read this as an arc and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Fun read. Kept me occupied for a couple of hours. Nice storyline. The beginning of the book was forced the bot started to get real.
Worst line in the book. I cringed. ........." “I couldn’t; it’s very secret bank manager code of ethics,” she said." There is NO such thing as secret bank manager code of ethics.
I actually really enjoyed this book. Some of Claires books towards the end kinda ramble on, but this one didn't. I really liked the storyline of Tyler and Kelsi and their background story too! Oh Man Mike got on my nerves so much I wanted to punch him throughout the whole entire book LOL!!! And OMG! I loved how Tyler got back in Kelsi's good books, and what he did for her!! LOVED IT!!
Another good read from Claire with a second chance romance between Tyler and Kelsi. It is very familiar a tale but in Claire Adam's style she throws in some twists just to keep the reader on their toes!
