Jess Michaels is a USA Today Bestselling Author who likes geeky stuff like Star Wars, playing video games (she ships herself with Dragon Age’s Iron Bull FOREVER), Bob’s Burgers and collecting POPs! She also drinks a LOT of Diet Coke. Probably an unhealthy amount, but it’s her only vice. She will eat (almost) anything coconut, truly anything cheesy and nothing spicy (yes, she is a walking stereotype when it comes to that). She likes cats, her dog Elton and people who care about the welfare of their fellow humans.
Although she started out traditionally published by Avon/HarperCollins, Pocket, Hachette and Samhain Publishing, in 2015 she went fully indie and has never looked back! She is lucky enough to be married to her favorite person in the world and live tucked between the ocean and the mountains in Oregon.
When she’s not watching Our Flag Means Death or trying out all the new flavors of Greek yogurt, she writes historical romances with smoking hot heroes and sassy heroines who do anything but wait to get what they want.
Idk if my interest just wasn't there or thr writing style has changed
Overall this is a good complete bundle that gives you what you want and delivers characters you root for. The blurb is intriguing, cover is gorgeous, and everyone gets a HEA. That being said I should love this bundle. I should have finished it in the 6hrs my reading speed predicted when I first started the book. I started this is Feb 2022 and finished it May 2022. I had several hours each week to do nothing but read and something else held my interest more. Rosalinde and Gray's story was the best and easiest to get through most of it. Celia and Dane I wasn't really invested in them but I enjoyed the journey. The last two books were both hard for me to read since they are second chance books (not my favorite romance subgenre). There's alot of repetitive thinking and circular conversations that just frustrate me cuz I know they end up together so why don't the characters stop being stubborn about it and get together already. But like I said it was so hard for me to read this bundle fast like I normally do and it might be mood related but I just never felt the urge to read it because of the story, it was more so that I could say I finished it finally. Still love Jess's work and not letting it make me wary of her new books.
An Affair in Winter 3.5 stars One stolen night between strangers becomes awkward when they meet again the next day at their siblings get together pre wedding, then angsty when they become suspicious of each thers motives, then sweet...because romance.
A Spring Deception 3 stars This was a sweet spy story but the characters weren't as interesting as book 1
One Summer of Surrender 3.5 stars This was a sweet second chance romance, which isn't my favorite trope.
Adored in Autumn 3.5 stars TW: Abuse Another second chance romance, with a slightly more believable(for me)situation that was incredibly sweet. The over arcing plot of the series was interesting but one of the plot twists was obvious from almost the beginning of this book.
All four of these books are fantastic. The interweaving characters and stories make for hard-to-put-down reading! I like that the women find their own inner strength, and that the men do whatever it takes to take care of their women. This, THIS is what a historical romance series should be!
Interesting under-story line connecting them. I enjoyed all 4 books and the love stories were lovely, if filled with misunderstanding and the characters' personal insecurites. The sex was steamy and fairly graphic, but I didn't find it too much or gratuitous. Enjoyed the books, the characters, and the satisfying resolution.
This 4-book series has been very satisfying to read. A very romantic set of stories, with a thread of mystery running through them. Well-formed characters, painful plots, deception, fear, and love. Finally, love. Whew! I thoroughly enjoyed all of the books. Highly recommended!
