Naomi saw her parents murdered by a monster and will never forget that face; she had run away that night, but her nightmares still haunt her. Naomi often wonders what her life would be like right now if what happened that night hadn’t happened and if she wasn’t so obsessed with questions she would never get answered. Now the monster has returned, killing again; this time it is David, the husband of her closest friend Melanie. Verin will not be deterred; he is determined to get what he came for. Not expecting Naomi to be with Melanie, Verin is genuinely surprised to see her. Sawyer is wracked with guilt about his past, giving up his job as a cop, as well as his PI job; now he works as a consultant for the police. Spending the majority of his time alone, Sawyer turns to drink. He didn’t have friends anymore, nor did he want any; he believes he deserves to be alone. Following David’s death, Naomi seeks out Sawyer. Though he is not an investigator anymore, Naomi really needs his help; not only is he the best PI by reputation, but he is also a shifter. When Sawyer’s pack confirms the existence of demons, Sawyer agrees to work with Naomi and together they come up with a plan to foil Verin; Naomi just wants Sawyer to treat her as an equal. But Naomi’s story doesn’t add up and Sawyer wants to know why. The guilt and shame are still there, but Sawyer manages to get Naomi to open up about her past; he makes her feel safe and given the situation that is no small thing. In return, Sawyer has to come clean about his past, particularly when he realises Naomi is his mate. Burying herself in books and history, Naomi has been studying demonic myths for some time; but no one is more surprised than her when she realises that Verin might have made a mistake when he came after her parents. Roy has a crush on Naomi and he becomes an integral part of their plan to steal the statue. Now they have to keep it locked away until it can be destroyed; but that means waiting for the full moon. Verin has been keeping watch and when Naomi and Sawyer have a row, he makes his move. This was quite an intriguing storyline that I enjoyed reading. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Over a decade ago Naomi Moore make a discovery in her family's home. Her parents murdered by a supernatural being. From that point on her life has never been the same again.
She has been running for a very long time. Now that her friend Malanir's husband has been murdered by the same monster who took her parents away from her. She knew it was time to take a stand and fight back.
Sawyer Blake a former police detective, PI and a wolf shifter of the Pinedale wolf pack who just wanted to be left alone. But fate, a former colleague and a beautiful woman by the name of Naomi Moore didn't seem to get the memo.
Naomi asked for his help but he turned her away after talking to his new Alpha Tate Silver. He finally decided to help the woman that stirred up feelings in him and his wolf that he never felt.
As they worked together to stop the demon, Sawyer and Naomi grew closer. They realized they were mates which was a wonderful and unexpected surprise to them both.
Things were said that hurt thrm both when Sawyer found out Naomi had been lying to him. In the end they worked things out and took care of the demon. They got help from Wes and Dakota.
SAWYER is the third book in Anya Nowlan's LAST CHANCE MATE series. It was intriguing, fast-paced, emotional and filled with adventure. Anya Nowlan did an incredible job. Love this series very much, you guys should give it a try.
Last Chance Mate Sawyer Paranormal Shapeshifter Mystery Romance by Anya Nowlan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a thoroughly enjoyable read. This story is intriguing and lt makes a interesting book. It's one of the Last Chance Mate series and the third book which is Sawyer Blake and Naomi Moore's story. Anya Nolan has created a great story. Naomi has been running for 14 years since a Demon killed her parents. Sawyer is a wolf Shifter that is a former police detective now a P.I. He and his parents belong to the Pinedale pack until his father move the family back to Chicago. Naomi track down Sawyer because he is a PI and a Shifter. The story is charming magnetic, suspenseful and action fill. The characters are realistic and engaging. The story makes you want to read about the other characters in this book. But I'm a great Fan of continuing stories that allows you keep in touch with the previous characters as well as the characters in this book. This is a well written and beautiful blended story. I literally found myself crying and angry at times; but most importantly, I felt love in every single chapter. No matter the drama, humor or their history, this is a beautiful perfect couple. I recommend this AWESOME Story to any reader who enjoy reading a Awesome romance. I voluntarily reviewed this book.
Sawyer is a wolf who has left his pack and his chosen family of brothers, again. He just doesn't want to be bothered anymore. After all, he gets attached and bad things happen. So its best he just sit alone and drink...well, until Naomi comes knocking on his closed door. She needs the former-detective and PI to help her. She knows he can. He is a shifter and she needs him. He has left that business, but something draws him to her. I really enjoyed the story in this one. I liked both Sawyer and Naomi. I liked how he came back to himself without even realizing it. Naomi was strong. She had gotten past losing her parents when she was younger and was now a strong mind in academia. Even if the Dean didn't quite agree with her pursuit of demon study. When a demon kills her best friend's husband, she knows only she will believe that story that Melanie is sharing. She also knows she needs someone else who walks the line of disbelief and reality. She finds that someone in Sawyer. He is more than ready to fall down with his drink, but he is feeling called to help her. Is there more to this story? You betcha...so get reading!
This is the third book in the Last Chance Mate series. It is just as good as the first two. Anya Nolan has created a great story line in this series. This is Sawyer and Naomi's story and what a story it is. Naomi lost both her parents to a monster when she was a teen. Now years later her friend's husband is murdered the same way and Melanie called him a monster. So starts Naomi's search to find and end the demon. Verin is a demon who has returned to Earth's realm hunting for a statue. He finds Naomi and his mind games begin. Sawyer is a wolf shifter and ex PI. He has pretty mush become a drunk and recluse since closing his business. Naomi tracks him down for help in dealing with the demon. Will Sawyer believe Naomi's story? Will his friend Tate confirm that demons exist? Will Naomi and Sawer stop Verin from getting the statue? Come read the story and find the answers. I give it 5 stars. "I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy without pressure to do so."
I love shifter books and then when you add magic into the mix, it's fantastic. Naomi witnessed her parents' murder when she was young. She survived, thrived and now she's working at the university. But when her best friend's husband is killed the same way, she is determined to due something about it. I liked how determined she was to get Sawyer involved in the case, even though he told her no. When Sawyer saved Naomi and her friend from the demon, they bonded and entered a whole new experience. Luckily, Sawyer still had pack family that was familiar with their problem. One of my favorite parts is when Naomi is trying to explain to Roy, a wormy colleague, why her female cat is named Mr. Whiskers. Sawyer tells her he doesn't mind cats, but his wolf is not fond and they make him sneeze. She has even heard him growl at cats on the street. They have to defeat this demon, but she is still keeping secrets from Sawyer. This was a really good addition to the series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
3.5 Stars - I am not disappointed with Sawyer and Naomi's story for it was a page turner.
What is disappointing is that no one is proofreading any of the stories in this series. Grammatical errors we're present, but what was worse was I lost count as to how many times the word "blake" was written instead of "black". I have read this entire series so far. This is book 3 and I have found that the stories are really good but the glaring errors ruin it. Stories that could have received a higher review from me, did not because if the overlooked mistakes. This author truly needs an editor, proofreader or a beta reader that can point these errors out prior to the story being published.
Sawyer, an ex-cop and wolf shifter has been drowning himself in booze. Escaping his past until a woman seeks him out to help her. He can't even help himself, let alone a woman who apparently has mental issues...she is talking about demons and his wolf is practically purring
Who knew demons really exists? No one believed a teenager when she said one killed her parents. So when her bestie tells her one kills her husband she believed her and knew the cops weren't going to solve this case. Sawyer gave up being a PI , so when Naomi shows up at his doorstep begging for his help he refused to help but something was pulling him to her. Verin(demon) came to her house disguised as a dect but Sawyer showed up and scented it wasn't the real person. Verin remembers Naomi and she realize it wasn't a coincidence. But what she does find out was mistaken identity. Her family wasn't suppose been killed. She has to with the help of Sawyer destroy this demon but nothing wrong with discovering each other in the process. Sawyer realize Naomi is his mate and would do anything to protect her.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh Sawyer and Naomi, such pain and heartache in their lives but now they have found each other. Book three in this series doesn't disappoint. Poor Naomi had to witness her parents being murdered years ago, but why!!! Now it has started all over again when her friends husband David is murdered. What's going on. Sawyer needs to get his life in order. He needs to go back to being a P.I. again. One gruesome murder and now this crazy woman wants his help...Naomi. Or is she crazy!! A brilliant story of Sawyer and Naomi demon hunting or should I say statue hunting AND luring this evil demon and send him back from where he came from. This story seemed more intense, more gruesome but the chemistry between them is hot, hot, hot. Another brilliant story in this series. Loved it.
4.5 stars Excellent contemporary paranormal, (shifters & demons) romance. As a teen, 14 years ago, Naomi watched the horrific death of her parents. Both her parents were academics so she followed their footsteps. Suddenly her best friends husband is killed and Naomi realizes what happens. She decided to turn to a former OK who still consults for the police, Sawyer. Sawyer is a shifter and therefore more open to the unusual and possibility of the supernatural. Unfortunately, neither understood the being they'd be dealing with. The story includes both intrigue and suspense to keep the reader turning pages. I've had the pleasure of reading the other two books in this series, Tate and Wes. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I hope Ms. Nowlan continues this series.
This was a very good paranormal romance with a good mix of romance and action. You have a woman that lost her family to some monster and later finds out it is a demon. She needs the help of a strong shifter and great private investigator like Sawyer. Sawyer has been living a solitary life since his own loss. Together, they work to make the demon pay for his crimes and keep others safe.
It is a well written story and I liked the characters. They are both strong and are survivors. They make a great couple and have a strong connection from the beginning. They seem to bring each other healing. I liked that you get both of them alternating as narrators so I could really understand their perspectives.
I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.
This is book 3 in the series, but it really would hold up as a stand-alone. There is only minimal cross-over with the characters of the previous two books.
This was my favorite so far out of the series. Naomi and Sawyer were both very strong characters and I could see them as a couple long term. There were a lot of points that would hint about issues from their past that I was beginning to wonder if it would ever be actually revealed in the story, but in the end the story had a decent flow. There were some areas of the story that I felt were a little over-done or dragged just a bit, but overall it was a strong addition to the series.
Naomi Moore had a tragic event when she was a teenager, and now it looks like something similar is happening again. The cops didn't believe her then and they won't now. Werewolf Sawyer Blake has fallen into the bottle after blaming himself for the death of his partner. He has been a cop and a PI but just can't find the motivation. That is until Naomi turns up with a wild unlikely story. This is part of a series but easily read as a stand alone. The only link to the other books is the pack that our hero belongs to. The demon that is hunting for something is far too dangerous for a human to face. I'm totally addicted to this series. Lots if romantic suspense type danger and intrigue that this author dies do well. I can't wait for the next book. I loved it.
I used to be a huge fan of this author, but this book was just so depressing and disappointing. The fact that the husband of Naomi's best friend was murdered really just ruined the book for me. Having a widow/widower character ruins books and puts a horrible dark taint on them, and this book was no different. There were a lot of things about this book that I didn't like, but the fact that Naomi's friend is now a widow was the main thing that ruined it. There wasn't anything about this book that I liked. I was gifted a copy for being a member of her arc team. However I don't know why the author even bothers to have an arc team when her assistant ignores emails from them.
Sawyer Blake is a former Police Detective and he is trying to keep to the off path but his curvy beauty runs into him and he is listening to her crazy story and does not know if he will believe it but he does and goes to help her and keep her for his very own Naomi Moore knows not to run from her past when it feels wrong and when her best friends husbands dies she know something stinks and goes to stand and fight and runs into Sawyer Blake and finds her one and only man and things go awesome sauce lol Love all of these books so good and hot and exciting steamy reads. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Michelle
Naomi has fashioned her life into what she thought her murdered parents would be proud of, but she was never able to deal with what she witnessed. No one believed her account of their deaths, but she never really gave up on the search for the killer. Sawyer was an ex private investigator who had ghosts of his own. His way of dealing came in a bottle. When Naomi came to him for help...both of their lives got a bit too interesting... I am still loving this series. Mystery, supernatural being and paranormal shifters will keep you glued to the pages. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!
I liked the whole demon hunting story. Naomi saw a demon kill her parents when she was young. She never really got over it, and has spent years learning about demons. Years later a demon kills her friend's husband and thrusts her right back into the whole scary mess. But now she is an adult and not a scared kid, and she wants to make the demon pay. But she needs help. Enter Sawyer Blake. Ex cop, ex PI, who also has a lot of heart ache in his past. He has been holed up in his apartment for months keeping away from everyone. But he first hears and smells Naomi, he starts coming back to life and.
No two demons are the same in this series. But they all want the same thing. To be more powerful. Naomi has been through hell at a young age. Now her friend's husband is murdered by something that Naomi knows to well. She's determined to stop the killer and she needs help. She tries to hire Sawyer to help. He's not convinced that demons exist until he comes face to face with one. Sawyer knows he has to stop this evil and doesn't want Naomi to help but he may not have a choice. I loved this book. It was non stop action that keeps you interested the whole way through. I voluntarily agreed to review this book. My review is my own honest opinion.
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! This is a continuation of the hunt for dangerous artifacts. Naomi witness her parents being murdered by a demon, Now the demon is back. Naomi will do anything to stop the demon for killing more people. Sawyer did not believe Naomi when she started talking about demons. After a close encounter, he is a believer. Naomi joins forces w/ Sawyer to stop the demon. Heavy on the action, but the romance was not overlooked. Loved the ending.
Naomi lost both parents to a demon as a young teen, no one believed her. Her best friend then loses her husband to pissibly the same one . The PI she goes to hire wants nothing to do with her or the case, but things change fir Sawyer when he realizes demons are realand Naomi is his mate !! Great addition to the Last Chance Mate series, lots of hot sexy times and fighting the demon, all while coming closer together as a team and hopefully mates. 4⭐'s . I received a gifted copy of the book and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.
An ARC was given to me and I agreed to voluntarily review it. My opinions are my own. It killed her best friend's husband. She had just tried to hire a private investigator and he turned her down. He changed his mind and came to her home to tell her and walked into a dangerous mess. A demon was there looking for something and threatening her friend. They need to find and keep what it's looking for from him. This is the third book in this exciting hot series. Enjoy I did.
14 years ago a monster killed Naomi's parents and she ran. She thought the monster gone but he is back. Sawyer is a werewolf ex pi and ex cop. Just drinking his life away until his mate walks into his life bring trouble and dark things he never knew about. Great action, drama and truly a fun read. I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and it's fast pace. Shifter fans will love this one, Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Demons just keep coming to the members of this pack.
Naomi and Sawyer strike sparks on their first meeting. Little do they know that their past has been leading them to this moment in time.
The author did a great job in weaving this tale of death and destruction. Each character will have to face the actions of their past to make sure they survive the future in store for them.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher
Loving this series of Last Chance Mates. Sawyer was a wonderful character as was Naomi. More demons and lots of action with lots of chemistry to keep the pages turning. I'm enjoying each new wolf shifter finding their mates while the demon fighting just adds to this story. Can't wait for the next one! I am voluntarily giving my honest review on an ARC I received from the author.
Another curvy heroin that knows her own mind and a sexy alpha male that just can t stay away from her charms. As clique as that sounds it all happens with a boom. Intrigue, mystery and adventure plus hot sizzling romance just all blend superbly into a captivating story. I voluntarily reviewed for the arc team.
Naomi faces the same monster that killed her parents but this time she has Sawyer at her side. Both are withholding something from the other and each have old wounds hindering them from moving forward. I love these shifters finding their mates after believing there is nothing to look forward to. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
The demons are at it again, luckily Naomi and Sawyer were able to connect. From the moment they meet, their chemistry is off the charts. Even though Sawyer wants to hide behind his baggage and not help her. Naomi's past included the violent death of her parents. There is no way she won't help bring down the monster that killed her parents and her best friend's husband. Not even with Sawyer saying no. With the sexual attraction these two have sparks are going to fly! Which makes this an entertaining read.
Love the way that the couple connect, and the way that they handle the problem that they are facing. I also like the way that solve their pass personal histories. I would recommend this book to anyone. Although I have not read any of the other books in this series I am going to read them.
Not much action between a lot of sitting around talking. The final fight with the "big bad" demon was too easy after the build up about how powerful he was (remember the demon in the first book, Loch, took the entire pack). Also ended too abruptly; how was the statue destroyed and how was their theft of it covered up?
This is the third book in the Last chance mate series and I am loving this series. Shifters, demons, humans and love what else could you want from a favorite author!!! I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.
