Burke Discipline #1

Maya's Protector

Rate this book
After the death of her beloved mother, pediatric nurse Maya Weaver moves to New York for a fresh start. In the course of dealing with her mother's affairs, Maya discovers two older half-brothers. Finally, she has a family to call her own. A good thing, too, since Maya most definitely does not want a boyfriend. And the submissive fantasies haunting her mind? They can go pound sand, thank you very much. A horrible incident years back taught Maya that her urge to submit can only cause physical and emotional harm.

When Maya meets Curtis Palumbo, she can't deny her attraction to the muscular man. But she doesn't want or need a man in her life. Besides, Curtis doesn't just want Maya's attention. The kind man is a dominant who sees inside to the secrets lurking in her soul. Will Maya find a way to submit to Curtis, even if that means an over the knee spanking, or will the nefarious plans of an outsider put a stop to their blooming relationship?

The books in the complete Burke Discipline Trilogy are:
Maya's Protector
Wendy's Warrior
Liza's Champion

This domestic discipline romance contains consensual spanking.

At first, I though this book was a continuation of a series I hadn't read, since Maya and her previously unknown half-brothers are getting to know each other. I felt like I was thrown into the book, and there could have been more of an explanation of their relationship. As far as the actual romance between Maya and Curtis, it was great. This book has more of BDSM-leanings than other of the author's books (which are more straight up domestic discipline), but I really liked it. The characters are well written and the plot (while cliched) was still handled well.

Maya’s story was sweet, alone in the world she was searching for family, finding out she had two half brothers. The oldest brother Sam was very protective after finding out they were indeed siblings. Timid Maya was set that she didn’t want a boyfriend or anything like that but after meeting Sam’s best friend Curtis, she can’t stay away from him. With love, patience and consistency Curtis sets out to bring Maya out of her shell and win her over. Lovely story, good smut, lots of spanking.
