Since its formation in the twelfth century, The Order of The Knights Templar has kept its fair share of secrets. Eric Ray, a young man living in the present, didn’t intend to stick his nose in The Order’s business, but that’s somehow exactly what happened. Amidst a budding relationship and heartbreaking revelations, he finally learns the truths he’s been longing to hear. However, the more he learns, the more he realizes that some things are better left in the dark. The same issues plague Samantha O’Rourke, a time traveler living more than three hundred years before her time. Disturbed by revelations about Thomas Randall, a viscous pirate who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, she struggles to maintain the balance that once filled her home. Wanting nothing more than to move on with life and leave the past behind her, she faces each day with resolute strength, keeping her own secrets under lock and key. With a new leader at the head of The Order and his own standing as a Templar at risk, Tristan, Samantha’s husband, knows that now is not the time to rock the boat. No matter how hard he tries, though, he can’t seem to shake the demons of his past—or the ones threatening to tear him to shreds now. Desperation leads him to recklessness. He will fight to regain what was stolen away from him.

Long story short, I love pirate stories. But this was a weird, tricked out Pirates of the Caribbean cop out with time travel. Like the language? Are you telling me that a Spanish pirate captain has a lower class English accent except for the fact that he says random Spanish words here and there? And the whole, “savvy” thing? Totally stolen from Captain Jack.
Also, the passing of time in this book made no sense. Like one second she was getting married and a page later she had been married a month and a half. There were no indications of when anything was going on.
It was a sad disappointment, but what can you expect? There are very few good pirate books out there.
Wow, I loved this book! It was a much more interesting read than the second and third books in this saga, picking up on the main storyline and moving along the adventure nicely. I appreciate how the story smooths out most of the bumpy relationship drama and focuses on delicious impending dooooom. I hate how Solomon can give me so much anxiety reading these books haha, I am always stressing because it seems like the characters are always put into situations where I'm sure they will die.
I really loved the turns the story takes, finding out more about Tristan's past and new lands to explore. This was definitely a Tristan-centered book, and while I'm certainly not complaining because I adore his character, it bums me out that we see less and less from Sam's pov. It seems like she's shown in more of a damsel-in-distress sort of light because she's *clears throat* breeding and "fragile" half the time. Fairies though! Those otherworld chapters were fun to read.
A few key things that I found bothersome while reading this one was...
1) I'm kinda getting wary of reading the first 25% of the book from a character's pov that we don't really see in the rest of the story. Eric in this case, Scott in the book before that, and Mark in the book before that. How much you wanna bet Kevin will be the star in the next installment? Mark I can understand, since he ties into the story pretty solid. The other two...I mean, I can see how Solomon is wanting to reveal to us something happening in the future that is likely still connected to the past in a way we don't know yet (I have a theory that the modern day Black Knights might actually be the good guys, like a trading of virtues, possibly spurred by a mutiny where the good guys "go evil" at some point and become its own separate faction for the sake of doing what's right. That kind of thing.), and wants to give us the feeling of time passing instead of learning it all in one go, but it's kind of...off putting I suppose, the way she goes about it. It makes the beginning of each book really drag along.
2) I noticed the grammatical errors in the Kindle version of this book was far worse than the others.FAR WORSE. Not completely terrible though, but some parts I had to read over a few times to make sense of it.
I love this saga, it's been a wonderful read, and I can't wait to see what's in store for Sam & Tristan next.
Four books later and I still love this saga. How can you go wrong with pirates, fae, gods and treasure hunters? This is not a book you can jump into without reading the previous books, it must be read in order. Samantha and Tristan are still dealing with Randall but now the guy has stretched more limits then possible. Back in modern times Sam's old crew is finding that Black Knights still exist. It's a magical story with elements of magic and mythology blended with pirates. And it's not over, there is more to come! It was a pleasure to read an advanced copy and I have voluntarily written my review hoping to entice more readers to read a wonderful pirate adventure.
This is the best yet. Just when you thought she would give the much wanted HEA to Sam and Tristan, Callaghan to, wham your thrown back. Randall. Can not wait to see where the next one leads me. Love this series.
Pirates, Knights Templar, and time travel...can it get any better? This is a great series to read if you love all of the above. I always look forward to the next book!
"What if ye and I are never meant to have a normal time, as ye wish?" "Then we will make our own kind of normal, all the other stuff be damned." what is this brief mortal life if not the pursuit of finding a tristan who looks at us fondly while we gush about books. and i do hope we stayed right there when we talked about orange juice and hoping for a better future because after that we plummeted. go make a beverage cause this one will be long. we always start with the good stuff and one of them is unsurprisingly samantha o'rourke. she remains true to her wonderful self, doing the best for her partner, herself and above all the future of her family no matter what it takes. her decisions are calculated and well-considered in comparison to any other fmc in a fantasy series and i'm proud to say that it's the first time reading a female character who has many men falling head over heals for her and instead of rolling my eyes and wondering what they fell in love with, i'm asking why are they only a few? moving forward, behold the king tristan and his majestic celtic lore albeit not very well developed yet star of the entire series. by far one of the most interesting historical & mythological parts of this series, every second of tristan in the dark isles and every moment of him learning about his true identity made my breath catch and my heart flutter. i needed a companion handbook aprox. 800 pages long to learn more and more about every inch of his origins, yet got too little to quench my thirst. finally, eric & rebecca deserved more than ten chapters cause they are the absolute shit. and unfortunately, we have reached the end of positivity about this book and are entering the pile of disappointment. disappointment no.1: thomas randall & the fact that he is still in fact not defeated. it has become completely redundant & repetitive, still spending our time wondering how we are going to defeat thomas randall to the point i wholeheartedly believe that i could personally kill him by using a butter knife. his part in this one was tiresome and boring and i've lost excitement about him and how he is oh so demonic, and oh so powerful and our main characters are twiddling their thumbs and oh! using vitriol to sedate him every few minutes. come on, he should already be dead and in fact this series should be minus one book but that's another story. disappointment no.2: the last 100 pages. we have a blast of a time with tristan as he battles both fae & his true identity, his past and personality become even more intricate with every passing moment as we learn more about his flaws than his wonderful self and then we reach the absolute anti-climax of the battle the world has been waiting for, the battle of avalon and we clean it up in two minutes. then, we dust off the trial of treason in 1 minute and then we incorporate a time jump of one year completely robbed from moments of beauty that may have saved the abrupt ending of what had potential to be the best book. total time: 3 minutes of what should have been one final book. instead of trailing thomas coucou randall along on a leash we should have killed him in this book and focused on avalon & tristan's treason and rightful identity in an outwardly final book. instead we got this.

Holy cow I’m again at a loss for words. Such amazing writing! I’m sucked into this swashbuckling century every time I pick up her series. The action has me staying up way past the point of functioning the next day. Tristan’s point of view in this book was refreshing and his thoughts on Sam, swoon worthy! The big bad villain is as always, chilling and almost captivating at the same time. Every time I think I know what’s going to happen, I’m thrown for a loop. I love not being able to predict what is going to happen. Every book in this series is amazing and highly recommended. I hope this author continues writing and in other era’s as she can bring anything to vivid life.
This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Swept Away series and is written by Kamery Solomon. It is best if you read all the books in this series in order so you get the whole story of all the characters. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
When the ending ended with a terrible cliffhanger, we would want to read the continuation immediately. However, this book follows the pattern of the previous books, which is frustrating.
It starts with a POV from Eric, which is in the present time, where he gets to know Sam's granddaughter. Ten chapters later, we finally get to know what happens to Sam!
Don't get me wrong, tho. I enjoy reading the modern time story too, but the plot where I found exciting in this book was when the team ventured into the otherworld. The ending is kind of sad this time. I wonder what is in store for them next and hope Cal will be alright.
I love this series. Sam and Tristan are back. I enjoyed the new characters and the already established ones. I felt like there was a little revisionist history in the story involving a never before mentioned character and past, but it was still a good story. I would like more follow up with the present day characters. Don’t leave us hanging.
Oh my goodness... I can’t believe the twists and turns this saga has taken... albeit a few felt a bit stupid. I’m still liking the H and h but sort of growing tired of challenge after challenge confronts them.
I enjoyed the first couple of books but the storylines are getting repetitive. It is time to come to a conclusion. I skimmed through the last quarter of this book.
This series just keeps getting better and better. I absolutely LOVE Sam and Tristan! They are the perfect couple. Through hardships, fighting, and rough times, their love withstands it all.
We start off in the present following the perspective of Eric. I love that we still get to see the present in these books. The author Kamery has a wonderful ability to split the book usually into three perspectives and still make each perspective/story interesting. And it all comes together so well! When we jump back to the past, we get to see from both Sam and then Tristan, which was really a treat seeing through Tristan's perspective. Especially being able to see what he thinks when he looks at Sam *swoon* Thomas Randall is still despicable, but I liked hearing the backstory of Tristan and Thomas and the secret that lied between their unhappy acquaintance of each other. *no spoilers, just read* All in all, this is an incredible continuation of the series and I cannot wait for more!
