Kavvan

Kavvan is Book 7 in the Azziarin Series but can be read as a standalone.

****The first edition contained a suicide scene, but when I realized how it affected some of my readers, I deleted the scene. Everything else is the same.****

Amanda

My life was less than perfect. I had a father who abandoned me, a mother who never wanted me, and a best friend who saved my life. I would do anything for her. And I did. When aliens captured her, I tried to rescue her. It didn’t work—I was abandoned again, this time on an alien planet. I couldn’t talk to anyone, couldn’t show my face. With nowhere to go, I gave up. At least until I came face to face with another human.

Kavvan

King Mallik ordered me, as commander of the Victory, to investigate rumors of a black market. More specifically, human females sold on the black market.
We rescued a violent, foul-mouthed female from auction.
She keeps yelling something, “Mandy!”
Nikkul, my second in command, is missing.
Someone has triggered my mating fever, and I’m losing my mind.
I need to claim my mate. But she is damaged.

I love this series. That being said this is not my favorite out of the series, though it adds to the overall storyline and is an enjoyable book.

Needs more

Needs more editing, just because a word is spelled right, doesn’t mean it’s the right word for the sentence. It’s needs more time to build up or deepen the emotional connection.

Kavvan is the latest book in the Azziarin series. Instead of going to Earth this time around, Kavvan and his ship have been sent to another planet to look for women that the Tureis are selling into slavery.

Amanda and Susan are best friends and have been hiding safely on Earth until Susan gets bored, goes out, and gets caught by the Tureis. Mandy goes out to save her friend and stows away on their ship. When Susan goes to auction, Mandy hides. Kavvan and his second, Nikkul, rescue Susan, and take her to their ship. All she can do is scream for her friend. They get her sedated so that they can leave. Finally, she gets them to listen, and convinces Kavvan to go back after Mandy. Meanwhile, Susan and Kavvan become friendly. Something triggers his mating response, but it's not Susan.

Mandy is stuck on an alien planet, doesn't understand the language, has no friends, doesn't have any food or water, and no idea what she's going to do. She steals some clothes so that she can look like everyone else and escape into the woods, with a creature she calls Cotton. He eventually leads her to an enclave of other escaped and rescued slaves, which is where Kavvan finds her, and realizes she's his mate.

I love the Azzairin series, and was more than happy to see a new entry into the series. I wish that I could put 1/2 stars on this instead of just full stars, because, really, I think this is a 4.5 star. The reason for the .5 is that although I love the book in general, the Jane plotline made me really sad for everyone involved. It was a tragedy for everyone, and it left me sad. Other than that, it's a lovely book, with a sweet love story in it. It has some darker elements than the other books do, but that doesn't really bother me much.

Amanda and Kavvan... and Susan?? and Jane and Nikkul

Not sure what to think of this one. Different from the previous books, it felt like a 'lead in' or set up for books to come. Not as satisfying romance-wise, but still a fun read.

Amanda and Susan have been besties since they were kids with horrible mothers. So when Susan is grabbed by the Tureis, Amanda sneaks on board to rescue her and gets trapped.
It's a bit of an odyssey of how Kavvan will finally catch up to his mate. We travel to the planet where the Tureis unload their kidnapped women to auction them off.
It takes almost half the book for Kavvan and Amanda to connect. This I would be fine with except that when they do connect the story splits focus to two mating couples.
Amanda and Kavvan were cute and I loved their HEA, but the other couple have a major issue and it felt super rushed and unsatisfying. Most of the stuff you want to know about what happens with them, occurs 'off stage'.
I really didn't see the point of adding any of that... unless it is a set up for another story after this one.?
There are rumblings of discontent among Azziaran women against the Earth women and the cultural differences they will not bend on... (mostly the 'only having one lover' inflexibility).

Loved this book. The established friendship between Amanda and Susan is so great. It makes the characters that much more developed. It also gave you an interesting insight into a the Susan character that will hopefully be seen in another book. There are sad parts to this book, and it does deal with some harsh realities of the world for a child raised or abandoned by horrible parents. If you have issues with abuse, or suicide I would recommend you look somewhere else though. Hannah Davenport didn't use these topics lightly, I truly think it was essential to Amanda's approach to life and the bond that Amanda and Susan share. I also think Hannah needed to establish that not every couple would truly have that perfect happy ending because of the cultural differences between humans and Azziaran races. If you have read the previous books, this one is also a great edition to the series. If you haven't, I would recommend reading the first 6 books then adding this one.

Wasn't sexy, wasn't romantic, wasn't even coherent

It started out with two interesting Earth girls, and ended with a motley crew. Kavvan apparently doesn't have enough juice to merit his own book. After rescuing Susan from the Tureis he and his Azzarian crew rescue even more human women, and then more Azziarinn get mates, and by the end of the book I was just tired of keeping track of who mated whom, what species they were, what planet they were on, etc. It might have helped it the Azziarins had distinct personalities, but they didn't. It might have been easier if each woman was memorable in her own way, but they weren't. It could have been interesting if each couple had a believable relationship story instead of 'I-don't-wanna-mate'-BAM-insta-lust. Kavvan and Amanda and Susan and Nikkul and Jane and Sonyya and Clare and.... Sheesh! You can't tell the players without a program!

Not what was stated in other reviews

I read other reviews stating that they didn't like the book because of a suicide. I read the book from cover to cover and there was no suicide involved. Jane s secondary character was alive and kicking during the epilogue. It touched on the subject of abuse from Amanda's mother. Kavvan then knew that she needed time and understanding. I thought that is was an okay book. I would have rather read about Nikkul and Jane in a separate book but I am not the author. Maybe she didn't have enough for a whole separate book. Now we have a few other human females on the planet as possible mates for more stories. I am excitedly awaiting Alans book.

Pretty good

Susan annoyed me a bit, while she's a good friend to Amanda, encouraging her to love herself and stand up for herself. Her impulsive behavior ensured she wasn't a great friend. She's very childish, I guess it's the trauma of her childhood.
Amanda was a good heroine but her behavior was a little off. Her reaction to Kavven being worried about her, for example. Suddenly getting over all her self doubt after going to the beach. I get she empathized with Aron, whose behavior I understand, he and Kattlyn disrespected her, Kattlyn threatened Amber. Because they're not allowed to be married. Aron can defend himself.

Her best book yet!

I don't normally get emotional over books but this one actually had me crying. It also left me questioning parts of the ending ...i'm going to leave it at that because I don't want to ruin the book for the next reader.
Thank you 😭

I liked the main story

I was really very upset about the direction a character. That is not the answer to a problem. Ever. It really disturbed me how little we were able to see of Nikkul's reaction. Kavvan is good. I like him. I like Amanda. She came out of a very hard life and was happy. I enjoyed her strength and loyalty. Susan needs a firey mate! Maybe the king?m

Another enticing entry in the Azziarin series

Kavvan is not sure who his mate is.... he feels the mating fever, but not for Susan. Amanda is Susan's bestie and followed her when she was kidnapped. Susan was rescued, but Amanda was lost. A HEA with updates on the previous couples from the series and a secondary story as well!

Good series

I enjoyed reading the series and meeting all of the characters and couples. The only thing that I really didn't like was the consorts and the uncomfortable situations with intense jealousy and cheating or borderline cheating, depending on how you look at it. It was a bit of a trigger for me & I had to skim through some parts.

Well...

Definitely the weakest book in this series. Less story and action. I get tired of reading about the characters' feelings and about how damaged the characters are. Also, I felt it was an indication of how little story there was when she had to wrap in an additional couple of characters in order to fill up pages.

good for series

I read this book after it was changed and I’m glad I went back to read it, I knew from other reviews I wouldn’t like it before changed. I thought it went well with the other books. I loved the first few books of the series a little more than this one but overall it was good.

Loved It

The story was just as great as all the previous ones and holds your attention from beginning to end. It has everything you want in a romance about aliens with enough passion, action, adventure, and hot sexy scenes that leaves you saying ahh with awesome characters? Very well written and a must buy.

An abused woman finds a mate

This is a story about a woman who was abused as a child. She has a very low self esteem, but clings to a strange friendship with a very wild young woman. They seem to balance each other but Amanda is the more level headed one. Kavvan smells Amanda and her feat and rushes in to save her. He then has to overcome her doughts. Good read.

Loved It. Hope there is more books to come. There are several storylines that could spin off that I picked up on in this book. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

Fast read. If you like the others in this series, you will like this book as well. Can't wait for another.

It was a good book!

I actually really like this series! The only reason I only gave it 3 stars instead of 4 is because I think what happened to Jane and the whole Nikkuhl and Sonjya thing ruined it for me.

Living this series

From the start, you will be rooting for Kavvan and Amanda to be together. You also hope Susan finds her mate amongst Kavvan's crew. Hoping to read more books in this series.

Not so sure I like this one. One sensitive subject is suicide and in being delicate the author lets the cheating of the male be glossed over. Thats kind of bullshit, and _seriously_ detracts from the overarching storyline.

Kavvan

Amanda and Susan are BFFs and loyal too. Then the grey aliens capture Susan and Amanda sneaks on their ship. Susan gets auctioned and Amanda watched the white haired aliens take her away screaming. Susan finally gets the Azziarans to search for Amanda.
