What's In My Pocket? And other poems by Joshua McManus

Rate this book
Another helping of gross out, funny, silly and entertaining children’s poems which will have kids and adults alike laughing aloud at the often naughty, sometimes outlandish and always hilarious antics of people, their habits and their bodily functions.
Each short poem is accompanied by fun cartoons which add another dimension to them and help paint the picture of what people get up to and what we sometimes think of others.
We all know someone who ‘Pumping Power’ could have been written for, while ‘In My Pocket’ and ‘Toilet Monster’ are a tribute to the imagination of children and adults too.
Joshua McManus is at his foulest and vulgar best when it comes to this kind of poetry and in this book of 20 short, yet memorable poems he delivers verses with a comic punch which your child will enjoy reading over and over again.

First of all the illustration on the front of the book makes me laugh with the boy having the huge candy in his mouth and it made me want to know more. I noticed a nice smoothness to the pages and it really flows to the next one. Each of the poems come with a funny cartoon that really brings you in.The book really makes you be entertained and make you laugh. The author does a great job of creating books like these that make light out of human things. The short poems are comic and make it fun for the readers. If you want or make it a goal to have poetry in your classroom then I would use this book to introduce poetry to kids.It is funny to the point that adult laugh with the kids.
