Another "mixed up" fairy-tale with my favorite characters. In this book Cerise and Dexter fell into "Beauty and the Beast" story where they had to find the way back to Ever After High.
An easy reading for relaxing and enjoying Ever After High characters.

As an early reading level chapter book it's ok. Your not going to get a bad message from the book. The fantasy slang is very annoying. It would probably be two stars if it didn't completely miss the point of the Fairytale Beauty and the Beast. It also has to misunderstand any other Fairytale to make the premise work. I remember why stuff like this and Monster High never really work for me. Even if we'd had this when I would have been the correct age demographic for it I don't think I'd have liked it. The 10th Kingdom is the only fantasy series I've seen that does The Big Bad Wolf gets a romance well, and even then it was weird. All I'm saying is that it breaks my brain to think that Little Red Riding Hood married the Big Bad Wolf. If you've read the original or seen the stage show of Into the Woods, then you know why this feels gross.

The only reason I read this in the first place was because both of my favorite EAH characters are leads in this story, but the execution of this novella was not as good as what I expected... I probably should've lowered my expectations 💔 but it was still a great story book for kids!

In order to get Adora to sit down and read for more than five minutes I read this book while Adora read Rosabella and the Three Bears. It ended up being a fairly cute elementary level Ever After High novel that was surprisingly enjoyable for me as well. I've been forced to watch enough Ever After High on Netflix that I appreciated the mention of Daring being Rosabella's Beast in this book which the season of the show, Epic Winter, alluded to originally.

In this book it's his brother Dexter who plays the role of the beast and Cerise, daughter of Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, who plays the role of Beauty. Which is cute because each suited the role of the other more. In the end it was a book about being comfortable in who you are.

Tomorrow we trade books and hopefully Adora retains enough of both to discuss them with me. All in all a book worthy of a night just reading next to my 7 year old daughter.

Cerise and the Beast
Faybelle is proud of herself for switching up the fairytale hexams. She’s already switched up Cupid’s and placed her in Ashlyn Ella’s story. She wonders which fairy tale will get switched next.

Instead of being in her familiar woods, Cerise finds herself in a beautiful castle. When she trips, she realizes she’s wearing a ballgown and satin heels. The maid rushes in to attend to her but Cerise tells her she’s got it. She thanks her and asks her name. The maid laughs and says its been the same since she came to stay with them (Sarah). She asks if Cerise has hit her head.

After this, Cerise starts to explore the castle and hears someone calling her name. Then she sees Dexter only he’s covered in fur. Cerise realizes they must be in Beauty and the Beast and tells Dexter (who starts to panic). Cerise assures him he’ll be fine. Even tho his brother was the one destined to be the Beast, this world is still familiar to him at least. She doesn’t know anything about being a princess. Dexter goes to check out the library.

Cerise meanwhile looks all over the castle for something to make a hood out of. After finding some hats that aren’t quite right, she finds a tall, chief’s hat. This makes her think of her mother’s pie and she sees a bowl of wild-berries on the kitchen table. This makes her homesick for the wild-berries pies she and her mother make together.

Cerise finds a bed-sheet in her room and uses it. Dexter comes to her room and asks for her help. He’s turned some things over in the kitchen because of his large paws. Cerise tells him maybe later. Later she hears him outside trying to howl but it comes out sounding more like a goat. Dexter vents to her that he’s never going to be the prince Daring is and that he doesn’t thinkj he has what it takes to be the beast. Cerise says she isn’t exactly a good fit for Beauty either. She offers to give him howling lessons and he offers to help her find something more comfortable than a bed seat. She then convinces him to run with her to relive some stress.
They each fulfill their promises. Dexter wants to know how Cerise is able to howl and run so fast. She says she picked it up from her father. Cerise wants to know how Dexter is able to make a hood from a velvet red ballgown, he says putting things together is his thing. Some servants approach them wanting to know what they would like for dinner. Cerise suggest that they have the pie she made earlier. Dexter suggest that Cerise get used to acting like a princess and part of that is letting the servents do things for her.

She also wolfs down her dinner, but then corrects herself when Dexter comments on her “wolfing out”. She then eas her pie a little slower. She tries to eat also without dropping crumbs everywhere. The next day, Cerise and Dexter go for a walk in the woods, but Dexter is anxious to get back to the library and find a book that might help them. Cerise is cool with it and suggest they split up. Dexter goes back to the castle and she continues to roam the woods. Cerise comes across some baby wolves who are scared of her until she removes her hood and starts to howl with them. She then finds a village where there are boys and girls playing bookball. They invite her to play and are in awe of Cherie’s skills.

Cerise feels like she can be herself around them. They play bookball until it’s late. Dexter is back in the library wondering if Raven is in another fairytale and what she’d think of him as the beast. He has a dram that they’re at a school dance as himself but while they’re dancing, he transforms into the beast. Raven says she doesn’t care. She still, thinks he’s cute. Then she turns into a beast too. Dexter doesn’t care either. And he sees it doesn’t matter to them. They like each other for what’s on the inside.
Cerise (staying at an inn) has a dream that Dexter is calling for her ehind a wall of books. She wakes remembering she promised him she’d be home and immediately heads to the castle.

Cerise finds Dexter hiding in the garden. He tells her he hear some intruders. Cerie reminds him that he *is* the beast and she taught him how to growl (and howl). And they can’t stay out there all night. When they get to the kitchen, they discover that “the intruders” are baby animals. They decide to make a snack that they fix themselves (to celebrate their bravey).

Dex admires Cerise’s bravery and she admires how he was able to fix a map. They both realize it’s enough to be Dexte and Cerise and not Beauty and the Beast. Dexter notices Cerise’s ears and Cerise shows him her locket and explains she’s the daughter of Red Riding Hood and Mr. Bad wolf. Dexter agrees to keep her secret. After this, they’re transported back to EAH.A group of studends surround them and ask questions while Blondie reports. Dexter tho has lost his memories of everything except for a hazy dream about Raven. He asks Raven out and she says yes. Cerise is very proud of Dexter and herself.

Rating: 5 Even tho Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale of all time, I just didn’t have any thoughts for this twisted version with Cerise and Daring. I was thinking that Cerise and Dexter would grow to have feelings for each other following the classic story and that would be the twist but that didn’t happen. It just left me with nothing.

Nada pasa.

Pasa el día, y fin, vuelven a Ever After High.

I enjoyed this book. This series is a lot different than the other books about Ever After High but they are still pretty good. I enjoyed reading about Cerise and Dexter in the story of Beauty and the Beast but I think it could have been done a little better. For one it still bothers me that the authors decided to change Daring's destiny and that was a huge distraction from this storyline. Also I didn't like the way this story ended with Dexter. The part with Raven was great but the rest of the ending with Dexter was sad as I wish it had ended a little differently. Overall I still enjoyed this book but I think it could have been even better with a few changes.

This is so bad. It wasn’t well written, Dexter forgetting everything at the end it’s just so forced and while i LOVE LOVE LOVE Raven x Dexter i hate the fact that they make her his whole identity, that and that he is shy and smart and isn’t like his brother.

The Cupid one was good, at least it made sense with the Cinderella story, but this makes no sense at all, nothing really happens in the whole book.

The whole “accept who you really are” felt like seeing a tiktok about self love.

Maybe i’m taking it to serious since this is short and for children, but it makes no sense.

If you have never seen or read all of the Ever After High books like me, Let me just say I am very happy this book confirmed that Rosabella and Daring were destined to be together..But anyways, the book is a very good book to read to anyone 5-12? I am 11 and i'm still very much into Ever After High. So i guess that means most other girls my age would too! Especially the ones who love Fantasy like me! 10/10 :D (Sorry this review is short)

This was a cute little story. Cerise Hood and Dexter Charming end up in the wrong fairy tale, thanks to Faybelle Thorn, daughter of the Dark Fairy. They learn a lot about themselves and each other as they try to figure out how to get back to Ever After High. I think these Ever After High books are just adorable.

Loved this! I absolutely love how Dexter and Cerise helped each other through their insecurities and everything else after being thrust into a world they knew nothing about. Definitely worth reading and helped me get out of my reading slump!! Ever After High will forever have a special place in my heart :)

A continuation from Fairy Tale Retellings Book #1, "Beauty and the Beast" gets another version from the students of "Ever After High". As is typical of "Ever After High" short stories, there are learning points included with the entertaining adventure.

This one was cute, too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of putting Dexter Charming into the Beauty nad the Beast fairy tale. Though I'd make him the Beauty (which he kind of was, given his love for books and his kindness). Anyway it was nice to see Dexter teaching Cerise and vice versa.

There are mentions of Dexter being smart and able to fix things like lamps and making a dress (well, hood, but still). I'm glad the author didn't forget the nerdy side of this prince in order to remain on the fact he's shy.

I'm a bit sorry there was no rose-related time limit. You know a 'you have to finish this story before the last petal falls' kind of thing.

I wonder how would furry Beast!Raven look like. Such a shame the EAH book don't have any illustrations.

It was a quick read only 106 pages. Ment for a much younger audience. But I am a sucker for a fairy tale even at my age. lol Loved this version of beauty and the beast even tho the characters involved wasn't suppose to be part of this tale. If you want to know what I mean read the blurb.
