Banished Saga #1-2

The Banished Saga: Banished Love and Reclaimed Love

Rate this book
Over 90 Five Star Reviews for Banished Love and Reclaimed Love. Immerse yourself in the first two novels of the Banished Saga, where romance, honor, a duty to family, and a desire to live a fulfilled life play out against the backdrop of turn-of the century Boston and Montana. NO cliffhanger when read together.

BANISHED LOVE (Banished Saga, Book One)

I’m suffocating under the weight of others’ expectations. If I have to sit through one more afternoon tea, listening to my simpering stepmother extoll the benefits of traditional roles for women, I fear I’ll scream, “The world is changing. It’s 1900!”

I want more from life than she can imagine.

If she knew of my interest in Gabriel, she’d have a fit of the vapors. She’d bemoan his humble beginnings and lack of wealth rather than recognize his integrity or his loyalty to his brothers. If she saw how he stares at me, as though I’m a puzzle he’s trying to solve, she’d lock me in my room. He fascinates me, as no one has since that awful day.

How can we surmount society’s prejudices and allow our love to grow?

RECLAIMED LOVE (Banished Saga, Book Two)
Committed…

To living a life she desires with the man she loves, Clarissa Sullivan continues to teach poor, immigrant children and to agitate for the vote for women as she awaits Gabriel’s return to Boston. Will her stepmother leave her in peace or is her life about to change again in unforeseen ways?

Convinced….

Clarissa is the woman he now wants to marry, Cameron Wright renews his pursuit of her. Charming, wealthy and well-bred, he is perceived as the ideal gentleman for a blacksmith’s daughter. With Gabriel far from Boston and his return uncertain, why should Clarissa continue to reject Cameron?

Devastated…

After his banishment from Boston, Gabriel McLeod forges a new life in a remarkable city. Will the memories of the love he shared with Clarissa sustain him?

Will Clarissa overcome deceit and treachery and reclaim her love?

Ramona’s heroines are strong, resilient women, the type of women you’d love to have as your best friend. Her heroes are loyal and honorable, the type of men you’d love to meet or bring home to introduce to your family for Sunday dinner. A love of epic proportions

I received this book free from one of the book sites. I do not remember which one! This is my honest and voluntary review.

I truly appreciate a great historical novel. While I wandered along with Clarissa on the streets of Boston that I remember, I felt a kinship with her. Her zest for life and the descriptive abilities of the author helped me smell the flowers, cross the bridge, and see my reflection in the public gardens and the Common. Her description of the Museum, reminded me of the last time I was there!

Besides the memories, the author helps you see Boston as it was at the turn of the century. She also gives us rich characters, who live and love, who have courage and overcome the difficulties of living amongst the strict society, and who felt fear and anger; being over powered by evil due to the lack of protection women faced in this time.

The range of emotions that this author writes about will have you laughing, crying, and sighing. She will have you steaming with anger and injustice. She will have you wishing for more at the end of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and am positive that you will too. Highly recommended.

Loved the characters and the story. However didn't love that there were loose ends still waiting to be tied up at the end. Certainly doesn't make for books that stand on their own.

Very well developed Characters. I was lost in the story. The plot was well done. I just felt that with a bit more effort both books could have been made to stand alone for those who may not be able to purchase the next book quickly but wants to have the loose ends resolved. I will definitely be looking for more from Ramona Flightner.

Undying love

Clarrisa is a young woman struggling with her feelings and emotions at the turn of the century. Her attempts to remain a proper, dutiful daughter are at war with her need for independence and love. Gabriel, a strong willed master woodworker, finds himself forced to seek a new start away from the vicious rumors meant to destroy his future with the woman he loves. All they need is a fresh start.

I really enjoyed this series of books,it was hard to put down.I was so glad that rape was as if should be harmful and brutal not something that is easy to get over.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance books and also to those who enjoy history. I would recommend it highly!

Ebook

She’s the daughter of a blacksmith but her mom was upperclass. She wants to be something more than an ornament in the house. Being left at the altar has her seeking a life of purpose. She meets a cabinet maker after knocking him off his ladder. They shouldn’t but pursue a relationship. It’s a very hard road to marriage but they get it done.

This was a great book. It was full of the varying views from the times of the 1900's. It also shows the strength it took for someone to follow their own views to go against social society. It has lots of great humanity lessons without giving anything away. I had many tears, but greatly enjoyed the books. I look forward to the rest of the series.

I tried and tried to read this book and each time the monotonous description of every single minute drove me nut. Needless to say good money wasted. Not happy!!!

Finally

This double book was quite suspenseful and as I read through some great descriptive words I wanted to get back to the latest crisis. I was quite grateful when Clarissa finally met with her great desire

An okay read

The first book was fine and I loved Clarissa's spirit, but I personally had some difficulties finishing book two. I love romance but I like it clean. This crossed some lines for me. Too descriptive leading up to private moments. Glad for their HEA.

Lovely series Boston to Missoula

Ahhhh, romance! A thoroughly enjoyable, well researched series. I loved the women's rights bits, mixed in with class constraints. Highly recommended. A good read.

Good books

I am looking forward to book 3. These books keep the reader involved and curious. It is hard to believe some of the hatred of the times as well as “status” importance but it was there

Follow your dreams

This is a wonderful historical novel , basically a romance with so much more. Suffagragetts fighting against the high society women thinking they are so much better. Very good reading.

I love the stories and the characters. My only problem is how in unnecessary and repetitious a lot of it was. I had to skip so much because it got bogged down , orang and slow.

Lasting Love

Novel took much to long to get the drift of the story, then really was hard to keep my attention, an OK book but not on until last couple of chapters.

Very enjoyable!

Just a clean, old - fashion love story, centered around a society foreign to most readers of today. I had fun reading this story.

An interesting look into class interactions

I was so disappointed when book one was a cliffhanger but book two brought it to an exciting completion. Many interesting characters.

Truly this is an amazing telling what our history may have been like in 1900+. This is about the failings of husbands to support their wives for the gain of the mighty $. Let's never go back.
