My German is so rusty that I picked this up to help me out. I'm trying not to embarrass myself, but that seems unavoidable. Seems easy to use with pronunciation guides and a good dictionary. Ich hatte gern ein Bier! That should be the most useful phrase

After intense Deutch Kurs book or grammar exercise this book felt like a dessert to me 🍮

I think this is one of the most interesting conversational German books available.

And when you have 10 pages per week, I think they maintained a very interesting balance for presentation and content, with some of the nicest graphic design i've seen.

I've enjoyed the DK Eyewitness books for learning all about a country [The book on France is my favorite, where you learn exquisite history, and have a sense of actually knowing things well enough like you'd almost been there] and this book is tied with that one for being my fave Eyewitness Travel books.

If you can't find the Pimsleur disks of 90 lessons on CD or the Michel Thomas series of 15 Disks for French/German/Italian, get the DK Eyewitness books.

Ideally all three, for the least frustrating route of learning a language.
