Kelli O’Connor Jamison’s life was chaotic on the best of days. She is newly married to the strict but loving Black Bear County Sheriff, attending law school, working for her stern but fair in-laws at their law firm, and sister to the testosterone driven O’Connor men. As if that were not enough, she found herself drawn deeper into the world of The Investors. A group of underground criminals who are into everything from dispensing justice to murder. Now she’s a target.
Parker loves his caring, intelligent wife but is under no illusions that keeping her out of trouble can be a full-time job. When she becomes a target, Parker decides it is time to take over and hold the reins firmly out of her reach. With the help of their family and a few well-placed motivators, Parker does his best to keep Kelli happy, healthy, safe, secure... and alive.
USA Today bestselling author of Contemporary and Historical Romances. I'm a proud Texan living it up in Alaska's beauty who loves to write both sweet and spicy romances.
My heroes and heroines can be found in this time or another, modern or historic, professionals or not. All include a little naughtiness, sternness, seriousness, a taste of suspense and a HEA.
I have always loved writing about sassy ladies and have done it for fun but never thought I could do it for other's enjoyment. It's my dream job and I hope I never come back to the real world.
The third and final story in this series of Kelli O'Connor and Parker Jamison was intense and kept the pages turning. With a great cast of characters, and people that we have come to know and love from the other O'Connor series books will still be easy to follow if you have not read all of them.
Parker Jamison is the sheriff now, and Kelli has gone back to college in Missoula to complete her law degree. While in Missoula, she will live with her sister-in-law, Aspen Jamison, and Aspen's boyfriend, Thorne. She goes back home during part of the week, the weekend and holidays and helps out at her father-in-law's law office and also at Bahile Haven, a shelter for women and children run by her sister-in-law.
There is something off with the Investors Group that Thorne is involved with, and Kelli doesn't trust him and the other men he works with. This will become an issue with her sister-in-law, and even her own husband will warn her that he is ok. But Kelli still has her doubts.
Kelli has never changed in her headstrong ways, and that has its good and bad results. Kelli is an advocate for women and children, and even when she has been told not to get involved, she will do so, even if it lands her in serious trouble with her husband. She will get involved with trying to help a couple of women that will open the door to danger for her and her family.
Parker decides it is time to take action and take more control, freeing up some of the burdens on his wife's shoulders. It will include having her asking permission, doing check-ins, and adding maintenance when she is home. He knows how easy Kelli gets overextended, involved in things she shouldn't and when that happens, she is more prone to have panic attacks. She can be her own worse enemy.
"She wanted him to take over, love her, lead her, care for her, chastise her and nurture her. In short, she wanted him to be her keeper in all ways."
The story is still dealing with the mystery of the sex trafficking of women, children being removed from their mothers and placed with deadbeat fathers, or other unsuitable family members, and some even coming up missing in the system. Several of the women at Bahile Haven will share horror stories of being threatened with losing their children if they do not cooperate with some questionable men.
The deeper the investigation continues, the more names that come to light as shady, including attornies, judges, and law enforcement. The O'Connor and Jamison women are in danger, and their men are taking the matter more seriously than the women.
The story will have some shock and awe moments, life and death situations, mysteries that keep this story in suspense. The story has many happy moments as the O'Connor family will add new members.
The relationship between Parker and Kelli is a very loving marriage, one where he is dominant, controlling, and puts her needs first, even if she sometimes tries and to finagle out of his edicts. Kelli gained the exact type of man, one just like her father and brothers, that she didn't think she needed, but knows he is the best man for her. Even if she is headstrong, Parker wouldn't want her any other way. Their chemistry is evident in the story and full of passion and love along with plenty of spankings and sex scenes.
"She's the spice that I can't do without in my life. I wouldn't have her any other way."
I look forward to more stories in the O'Connor series; we do have one brother that we haven't heard too much about, and hope he and his special lady will be next in the lineup.
I loved this newest addition to the O'Connor series! This story can be read as a standalone but the entire series is worth the read. The author got my attention from the start and kept it until the end of the book. With great characters, their interactions throughout the story are honest and heartfelt. This book focuses on Kelli and Parker as she is finishing her degree and Parker is sheriff. The O'Connor and Jamison men are protective and will take care of their women at all costs. While this does not go over well with the women at times they also understand that it comes from a place of deeply devoted love. The women of the families are busy together and still trying to help others within the community and find balance with life at home. They know that there is a problem within the shelter and that information is not matching up. The men, are more in tune with the happenings in the shelter and the town than the women, which only makes them want to protect them more. With the mystery behind the women who disappear or show up dead, the human trafficking, the questions about Thorne and where he fits in, the many women that they are trying to help, and the threats made against these feisty and sassy women, there is never a dull moment. What will happen with Kelli and Parker? What about Thorne and Aspen? Will these protective husbands be able to keep their women safe? Come read and see what happens with this wonderful group. I highly recommend this wonderful story as another can't read by this great author! I voluntarily reviewed and advanced reader copy of this book.
By Donna L Edit Review Delete Review This review is from: Keeping Kelli (Kelli O'Connor Book 3) (Kindle Edition) This third book in this series continues with Kelli and Parker Jamison and their extended families.Kelli is now at college while Parker is the sheriff of Black Bear County.Life is hectic and Parker has problems keeping Kelli safe, the spanking bench Parker built certainly helps. Even though Parker and the men in her family are over protective, Kelli continues to take unnecessary risks. The plot will see corruption, abduction, murder,an underground trafficking ring, spankings and steamy sex scenes.Despite Parker's best efforts,Kelli becomes a target when some of her family are abducted. This is a remarkable story about betrayal, disloyalty but it is also a love story. It was action packed from the beginning to the end. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
This is the second book I have read in this series. Parker and Kelli have a domestic discipline relationship as do the rest of their families.
When women start disappearing from the shelter Kelli can't help but do her own investigation into what is happening to them despite Parker telling her to stay out of it.
This story follows her investigation and the dangerous and punishable things she gets up to in order to solve the case and save the women.
This book can be read as a stand-alone but I would recommend reading the first one before this one as it sets the scene.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
Not having read the first two books in this series does not diminish the enjoyment and readability of this third book by Alyssa Bailey. The author really spends a lot of time throughout this book attempting to educate the reader about what is meant by “Taken In Hand” as defined in the world of domestic discipline. The story itself was a nice combination of suspense, mystery/detective, romance, and of course lots of spanking and lots of sex between the two main characters. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of the book.
This is a standalone, but I think it would be an easier read if read in sequence. The pace of the book is steady, and there is an interesting human trafficking back story. Because there are so many characters (mostly family), and so many characters involved in the back story, it can sometimes be hard to keep up.
Parker and Kelli have good chemistry, but, bottom line, for the most part, Kelli does just whatever Kelli wants. Parker has his hands full.

The family Ms. Bailey has created is filled with strong, protective men who have firm hands when their independent, often slightly sneaky and sassy women run afoul of the rules and put themselves at risk. In this third book about Kelli and Parker, there is a complex, interesting story both about their relationship as well as including a mystery. There are so many characters and the story at times moves fast it is hard to keep track at times. But it's a great, fun book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this third installment in Kelli and Parker's story. It was a perfect blend of romance and suspense. I really liked Kelli's independence and strength, and Parker was the perfect alpha male. They worked really well together. Even though some aspects of the crime drama were fairly obvious, the author managed to keep a few surprises to the end. I'm sad to see this couple's series end, but I look forward to reading more from this family in the future.
Keeping Kelli is book 3 of the Kelli O'Connor series. It is the first book I read of this series and I think it would have been better if I had read the other books first. There are a lot of people and it got confusing at times. On the other hand I liked that the families are all intertwined within this story. Kelli and Parker do have great chemistry. I fell in love with stern and very caring Parker and sassy Kelli and I look forward to read the other two books of this series.
It's beyond me how an author can continue to write sequels to a story and each one is better than the one before. Keeping Kelli continues Parker and Kelli's love story and their struggles to encorporate dd in their marriage. Kelly's need to be independent fights with her need to submit. Throw in a little danger and mystery and it's a winner! I voluntarily received an advanced reader copy of this book.
Every new installment of this whole O'Connor gang leaves me satisfied but also ready for more. It's like a fix. Love Kelli, the feisty older sister and Parker has definitely come into his own. The rest of the family has joined the adventures and new family members have joined in. You have to read this series. I hope either Cian or Aspen is next.
If anyone needed someone to watch over them and keep her safe it is Kelli. She is finishing up her degree and soon will take her bar exam. Jamison, her husband protector and disciplinarian. She is oblivious to danger and heads into danger often with no regard her own safety. Jamison knows how to curb her curiousity. So many twists and turns it definitely keeps the reader guessing.
