Overworld Arcanum #4

Conrad Edison and the Infernal Design

Rate this book
A DARK DESIGN

When Conrad learns his father has perfected a way to create demonic clones of living people, he realizes it's only a matter of time before the Overworld falls once again to Victus.

The Arcane Council is already in flux, and Max's father, Xander, is running for primus. If he wins, it will give Victus another solid rung to climb to the top. Several ministers already seem in favor, and with a little push, the entire council could belong to Victus.

The only way to stop Victus is to destroy the foundry. But to do that, Conrad will have to figure out who is friend, who is foe, and who might be a demon clone. If the infernal design is not broken, Victus will soon control everything.

Disclaimer - I am part of John Corwin’s support team and read his books because I love them. I normally read ARC’s but due to release timing read this one after publication and am a bit late posting a review.

The Conrad Edison stories are my new favorites from the Overworld. Conrad Edison has a very hard start in life but is really coming into his own as a hero and leader as he brings together a band of unlikely allies to fight against the pure evil that is his father, Victus.

This book in particular does a fantastic job of tying the different threads and characters from the Overworld together. The end includes a few surprises that I don’t want to give away. All I can say is that I can’t wait for the next installment to see where things go.

Victus is pure evil!💜

Once again Conrad Edison has found himself having to make life threatening decisions. Just when I think Victus can’t get any worse, John Corwin sets me straight. I’m really enjoying this series. Brilliantly written, with humor, drama, magic and even a little teenage hormones thrown in there. The characters are so much fun and the banter between them along with some surprise moments, keeps this series fresh and exciting. This is book 4 in a spin-off series from the Overworld Chronicles and I highly recommend this book/series.

A good read.

Conrad and friends are still dealing with the evils that his father is unleashing on their world. There's so much going on in this book that I would be doing it an injustice by trying to describe it. Again I can't help but compare it to a grimmer, darker Harry Potter story. But there's enough of a unique twist that it's worthwhile reading.

Great series

The ending of this book fills me with hope. :)
I am really looking forward to seeing where we go from here, in all the story ARCs. Love how enamoured Max is with the idea of Ivy Slade. It is just one of the components that makes this so good.

I really love the Overworld Arcanum books, it feels so much like John Corwins love letter to JK Rowling, or even if Harry potter was told from Dracos point of view. This book was a quick read but a fun read, much better than the last Justin Slade book

Yes !!! Another great read

Great story. More character building. Love that characters are appearing from the other series more and hopefully leading into a joint book.
