My name is Oscar White. I run a stage stop with my family between Clear Creek and Oregon City in the state of Oregon. We homesteaded here in 1849. I live with my two younger brothers, Henry and Anson, and our mother.
After careful consideration, I find myself in need of a wife. I’m not getting any younger, and figured it was time. I am forty-five years of age, a simple man with simple needs. I am tall, so a woman of some height would be good. I work hard as does my family, so don’t need no wilting flower. She’s got to be strong and able to help my ma and me run things. Nice read
This had a lot of surprises in it. It was an enjoyable read. Simple love story. Lots of good things to read about.

This is just another example of how well Kit Morgan can weave together a fun, witty, adventurous, romance and make it so you just can’t put it down.
The story is once that starts in Clear Creek, OR a town of whacky, fun, and crazy characters that reader just wants more of.
But the story heads out to the White’s stagecoach stop where Oscar White brings his bride to meet the family and help out at the busy stop.
Lily is from South Carolina where she fled after the Civil War when her husband is killed in action and their plantation is burnt to the ground with her mother in law and Lily inside. Her mother in law dies and Lily must go to live with an aunt in Denver. When her aunt dies, Lily is broke, homeless, lacking in any domestic skills, but needs help and the only way she can think of is becoming a mail order bride. The agency sets her up to go to Clear Creek to meet her perfect match.
When she arrives by stagecoach and sees this really big man waiting for her she may not be so sure about this. But what can she do but marry him.
Oscar thinks Lily Fair which he keeps calling her, is the most beautiful woman he has ever laid eyes on. The town folk who she meets at tea in the fancy Hotel in this small town along with other join in their wedding. Well it’s what they do even if you may not want them all there.
Once they get back to the stagecoach stop she is enfolded into a family that has seen better times also.
She however has a secret she is afraid once her new husband hears about she will be put back on the next stage.
Adventure, fun, truths, humbleness, romance and love, and faith all come together along with some whacky characters who you are so glad to catch up with because it’s just plain a riot there. I love this story as I have all her stories and I highly recommend this one as well. If you love Kit Morgan stories, you are guaranteed to love this one too.

I think this is the best of this author’s books I have read thus far.
This story made me cry and there were SO many more faith moments I felt it had what had been missing from the other stories of hers I have read. Oscar White is forty-five, average-looking, kind, and capable. Based on his original list of needs for a mail-order bride, I did not expect to like him, but after getting to know him he is quite wonderful. Lily Fair is thirty-seven and quite damaged after falling from her pedestal as a southern belle and losing everything after the war. But she has plenty of love to give to the right person and family. I enjoyed young Henry who was some sort of “special needs”. He told things as he saw them, was smart, and quite a talented woodworker. Ma had had a stroke but was still a wonderfully contributing member of the family despite her disability. Those elements, plus the life of living in the boonies alone and having to do everything yourself added depth to the story. Hopefully, Anson White and Emeline Turner will get their story told.
This book has an element of danger that is not over the top and plenty of redemption, as well as being an easy read.

Note that many of her series cross over so there are many times where characters from other storylines and towns show up in the various books.

Lily had reached absolute desperation by the time she met with Mrs. Pettigrew. With no family, no home, no money and no marketable skills Lily is taking the last logical step before walking the streets… she’ll become a mail order bride and pray for the best, expecting the worst. What she’ll find is a community to be part of, a family to love and care for, work that is honest, hard and rewarding and a man who will love her just as she is… secrets and all.
Dear Mr. White is a tale full of emotions, bits of danger, finding self-worth in spite of yourself and a very touching love story. Oscar and Lily may seem to be opposites in stature, and in skills yet they fit perfectly together as an eventually loving couple. Their story is told with touches of humor, lots of understanding and a family that is as unusual to Lily as is humanly possible — yet, she will soon find her place here at the White’s Stage Stop and a love to last a lifetime.
If your’e in the mood for a tender love story with flashes of wit and humor then you’ll want to pick up Dear Mr. White. I was blessed to have won this book from Kit Morgan, herself. It's been a while since I've read a Mail-order-bride book and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Oliver White, his two younger brothers and his mother run a stage stop in very rural Oregon in the time around 1849. Oliver's two younger brothers look up to him and tend to follow in his footsteps. Oliver is 45 and decides he best send off for a mail-order-bride or he and his brothers are destined to live out their lives alone. Oliver neglects to put in his letter exactly how rural he and his family live and he fears that the woman that accepts his proposal will not end up staying.
Oliver's proposed bride, Lily, has her own secret's and fears Oliver won't want her to stay. Lily was the daughter of a plantation owner. She was once a lady of great privilege until the Civil War and her family lost everything. Now she's even alone in this world, with no skills to offer Oscar or to make it on her own. Her lack of domestic or any other skills is not the only thing she is hiding.

Lily finds love 💕
Very good story of a former southern debutante who, because of the war, is now destitute. She doesn’t think anyone could accept her after what the war did to her and her family. However God placed Oscar White in Lily’s life, and even though he was defiant a man she would have given a second glance at in her former life…he was exact what she needed.

I was really flabbergasted towards the end of the story. A most terrible thing was about to possibly happen to a helpless person, who I won’t name. And two men who were family of said person, who should have been outraged, were nearby. The author said the men “looked on with interest”…. What?!

This is a Huge Series
This series started with the Prairie Brides books,continued with Prairie Grooms, Holiday Mail-Order Brides, and now Mail-Order Bride Ink. During this time she's built the towns of Clear Creek, Nowhere, and Independence. P!us, visited Oregon City and Portland. Along the way she built a stage stop between Oregon City and Clear Creek. It's at this stage stop with the quirky White family that most of this book occurs. We are treated to the story of Lily and Oscar, plus see the beginning of Henry and Anson meeting their future brides. A nice continuation of the series!

A very good adventure.
When I first started reading the series from Kit Morgan I couldn't stop reading till I was caught up with the first story of Sadie and Harrison to the last one that started the Dear Mr series. I can't wait to see what is next. I start reading her books and just can't stop till finished. So many thrills excitement and adventure and so much love and spirit. Enjoy.

I read Mail-order Bride Ink: Dear Mr White through the Kindle Unlimited program. Oscar and Lily' s is a emotional read. It is sweet, clean and heartwarming read. As always it is fun to catch up with favorite from previous books and get to know new ones. I look forward to reading the other two Whites brothers stories.

Life that time was in many things much harder than now. The memories of the war are still very clear. But many things were also not so bad, in some ways it was even much better than nowadays (calmer, simpler, more conected, "real" etc.). We really went down in some ways...

I loved this story
I remember meeting the Whites a while back in another book. I really liked them and was excited to get to read a book devoted to them. Oscar is a true gentle giant and Lily has seen more than her share of hardships. The war changed people in many ways but the Lord used it for His plans especially in this story. Thanks Kit Morgan for a great story.

Good book
This book is so\so l went from 3 stars to 4 for being different. The girl Lilly is really all about her while the man hero Oscar wasn't really to me a strong force in the book. I didn't like it that she made him ugly but again it was so different that why l kept on reading. Go ahead and give this book a read.

OH! This one was really good! Lily, a mail order bride, had a secret to hide. She felt so ashamed, worthless. She was going to marry a stranger. She had to tell him, but how?
Tender hearted Oscar White ordered a mail order bride. There really has to be men like him in this world. This is so sweet. Get the tissues ladies. GET THE TISSUES!

Good suspense keeps you reading
The people seem real. The hurts expressed are like they were real. The suspense on what happened to the bride before she came West was kept well hidden and made the expression of love more meaningful. A good read.

This is a Great Story
The beginning of the story had me worried. I wasn’t sure what it would be like. It is a great book that evokes all your emotions. I laughed, cried and everything in between. I’m hoping there’s a follow up to see what happens to Oscar’s brothers.

He could cook but she wanted to learn how. I Loved the way the story showed it didn't matter what a person looks like it's what matters what their character was.

This was a sweet story. I loved how two people from totally different lives and with scars from the past could come together and find a pure, sweet love. Of course, there’s a little excitement too. A great story all around.
