Marie Jones and her team of dimensional rift explorers travel between worlds closing up the rifts that appear in Earth's realm. They work under the careful watch of Maximilian and his brothers—elves from Middle Earth who are trying to bring balance to the realms. When teenagers start disappearing from Earth, Maximilian sends Marie to investigate.

The world they discover is filled with magic and governed by sadistic gods. To make matters worse, Marie and her team are on a time limit to rescue the humans and get back to Earth before the rift closes—trapping them forever. But these gods are bored with their heavens, and a bored god is a dangerous god.

Fanny Teresa Crispin (aka FanTC) is a YA fantasy fiction author. Books captured her imagination at a young age when her mother used to read to her at night, but it wasn’t until her high school years that she began writing her own stories. Some 20 odd stories later, her friends convinced her to publish, so she began the long journey to putting herself in print. In 2014, she published her first novel CLOCKWORK DREAMS. Since then, she has published SIR IVAN’S TRAIN; DRAGON KING and the sequel WIZARD RING.

I have read all-er, well, most of this author's books, and this one has so far been my favorite. This story is more adventure driven which is what strikes my fancy and it keeps it strong from beginning to end. The characters are fun, the plot entertaining, and the pace fast but easy to follow. It leaves you feeling like this is part of a series, but as of yet I haven't seen anymore come out which is a bit disappointing. I would really like to read more of these.

Overall, I recommend this to anyone who likes a good fantasy adventure. I feel like this is also a book that can be enjoyed by all ages, and I don't recall there being any kind of triggers to be wary of.

First off, I won this book through a goodreads giveaway. This was a fun and quick read that was quite interesting and quick to open up into the world. I would of liked to of seen more of how everything came to be, you kind of hit the ground running when you open up this book. I do not want to go too much into the it because it would ruin the story, but it is an interesting world of magic and genies.
