This story had a little bit of everything - erotica, second chance romance and angst. To be honest, I was kind of wishing that this would turn out to be a full-length story. That’s how much of my attention it demanded. I wanted the characters, Ava and Jag, to get more time to shine. There were hints to their volatile past together and I would have given anything to see more than a glimpse of that. While there was a happy ending, I wanted more. Okay, fine… I’m greedy. If you’re looking for a short and sweet smut-tastic read, then look no further than
Pierced Ink.

Pierced Ink is a great story in a little package. I love Jag! He’s confident, sexy, strong, caring and romantic. When you want a quick read with a sweet HEA, this is it!

Who doesn’t love a second change romance right?! Jag is so damn sexy what’s more is that he’s pierced and owns his own tattoo shop. Ava is absolutely stunning and is just as comfortable with herself with tons of ink and piercings. Jag wants nothin to do with Ava after not seeing her for two years when she left him but who can deny the connection these two have shared. We’re given a quick read but it’s filled with the perfect about of sex and romance. Their story will leave you heartbroken and smiling. The pace is perfect and flows wonderfully, it’s a complete page turner from beginning until the very end. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Short, hot, to the point. The only thing was I thought it was over and then realized it was still going lol so I was ready for it to end earlier or more added to the story to make it longer. If that makes sense.

Pierced Ink was "quick and dirty, just the way we like it" even though this is a short read for Dani René. It doesn't lack anything with still get all the grittiness and passion of a full novel.
Jagger opened his heart to the woman he thought was his forever Ava. But the next day she up'd and left him no explanation nothing. Two years later and Jagger has been left jaded by love. Don't get me wrong he's an all over alpha male and has women by the plenty but he's never open himself up again!
That is until Ava returns!! she's always had the ability to bring him to his knees. Jagger is angry but he knows she's his one. Will he hear, her out or walk away like she did two years ago!!
Ava needs and wants to explain what happened to have her walking away from the only man she's ever loved. Everything is not what it seemed. Will Jagger give her the second chance she so desperately wants.
Jagger and Ava will leave you heartbroken, smiling and panting for more. The pace is perfect and flows beautifully and i couldn't put it down.

This is a short story so I don't want to give too much away, but despite being short it really packed a punch!
I fell in love with Ava and Jag. At first I wasn't sure what to think but then things fell into place, at what had happened and how they got to where they were. And things hit rather close to home for me in some ways and by 50% I was crying. Like ugly crying. This story managed to quickly hit me right in the heart and feels and i'm just bitter it's so short because i'm greedy and want more!
I was worried that it being so short would hurt the characters but that wasn't the case! They have so much depth to them and it's wrapped in a short, sweet, and erotic, story! I ended up really understanding Ava and why she did and felt the way she did and Jag, ugh i'm in love with them <3!
I'm just bitter it's short. I mean it's wrapped up wonderfully and I love it, i'm just greedy with characters I fall in love with, I always want more. If you want a quick and dirty, but also very sweet romance, i'd definitely recommend this!

This starts out really really really good... and then I got bored and it took me a long time to finish. When I did finish it, I realized I'd only had about 6 or 7 pages left to go! I honestly don't know what happened. The story starts off super hot, with some kinky fuckery that's always fun to read. There was just a point where I started to fail to keep my connection with the MCs. Maybe because of distractions. Possibly because I started questioning the failed communication between the two of them.
In the end this was an okay read, Jag and Ava are interesting characters with a lot of history that comes across well for a novella. Due to length, we don't get to dive in too deeply into their past, but the author does a good job of developing that and giving us all the information we need to know to move forward with the story. All I can say right now is wow. WOW! Jagger Pierce actually managed to bump Liam Hayes for top book boyfriend for me, and that's saying a LOT! I don't even know where to begin with this. It's short, so there's not a lot of action, but it's so packed with emotion, love, and lust that I don't know if my heart could take it if it were any longer. Even now as I write this, my fingers are racing across the keyboard as fast as the riot beating in my chest. Jagger and Pixie's story is so heartfelt and beautiful, and OMG the love scenes are - YIKES - burning hot! Like, really, really delicious and sexy. I'm rambling now, but seriously, this story is my new fave from Dani Rene. Her poetic words always flow with so much beauty, it's almost an art form. She's a truly gifted writer and I cannot wait for the next installment of this duet.

I typically shy away from novellas, but decided to give this one a chance. My advice, if the book is free and you have an hour or two with nothing to do, get it. If the book costs money though, don't bother. It's not worth it.
As the description states, the book is incredibly short. The reason I tend to shy away from these shorter books is because I never feel like there's enough time to develop the characters which was definitely the case with this one. These characters are...different; their attraction to one another is incredibly different. They have a strong history, one that has impacted who they are. There's not enough time to get into all of that and feel something for the characters and the situation they're in.
I think this story line could have had potential if the author decided to make this a full length novel. Why not write about who they were before she ran? Write about their time apart and how they both coped with that. THEN bring them back together. And how about this time they actually work through their issues rather than jumping into bed with one another first.

Jag and Ava have a complicated relationship. Ava ran from her relationship in the past thinking she was doing what was right. However, Jag never really got over it and when Ava shows up again, he wants her to know that he was hurt and despite the distance, he's still not over her.
Ava has to come to terms with her own choices and she seems a little lost, despite the fact that she has been able to come back and see Jag again.
These two have a strange dynamic. You can tell that they have chemistry but there is really no relationship to speak of - you have explanation and sex.
I wish that there was more development of the characters and their story. However, as a short story, it was full of steamy scenes.

First of all I had no idea at all that this was such a short read. And I'm so glad I could finally read. Jagger is just pure dark sex on stick. He should be called walking sex, or Jay the orgasim machine lol. I loved how he always put his heart on the line for Ava. It's clear those feelings run deep on both sides. And when they explode its pure hotness. Now let's see if Slade can measure up to jag?!

Wow! What a seriously hot book! While short, it sure is packed with major steam coming off the main characters, Jag & Ava. Ava left Jag years before and came back to explain why. Their chemistry is thru the roof! Do they get back together? You really need this book in your life! Loved it!

Years go by and they meet each other again but this time will Jag make sure sure Ava doesn’t leave? Will Ava explain why she did leave? Books by Dani Rene? Absolutely one sitting kind of book. They have all the light-heavy topics, but so much hotness to melt your panties. Ladies, you've been warned ;-)
Love the way the author describe every move in details. The plot was easy to follow. Holly molly hotness. All of it and yup, this is the author that I've been dying to read her books more and more. Ava and Jag struck a chord with me and I could identify their emotions and feelings. I felt the book to be too short and was left panting for more !

Oh wow this novella is a searingly hot and dirty second chance romance....Jag is so filthy talking and Ava is the love of his love life; when they reunite it is incendiary but everything is put at risk as the truth is revealed and past events place their happy ever after at risk...
The characters are so believable and raw.....Ava is carrying a lot of baggage from her past and Jag has been too badly hurt to risk taking a chance on love second time around ....there is so much emotion within these pages...
Despite the angst this is above all else a story that demonstrates the power of love to overcome adversity and to prevail in the darkest of times....

I'm a sucker for second chance romance and a sucker for Dani's dominant males. And here she gives us both! Jagger is the bad boy tattoo artist and Ava is the one who got away. These two are hot and heavy from the getgo and I hope we get more! I love this novella so mich, I wish it could be a full length novel at some point. Or maybe a series of novellas. All i know is i need more Ava and Jagger!!!!

This is a HOT quick read that has all the tension I love in a book. Ava and Jag have all the emotion and are the most perfectly broken characters with scorching hot chemistry. I am not sure how Dani packed so much into this novella but truly it was just perfect read.

Despite the fact that this is a novella, this story lacks nothing. I mean, there is absolutely nothing missing. Great romance; check. Great chemistry; check. Great story; check. Great characters; check. Great depth of story; check. Great intrigue; triple check. All the boxes were ticked for me.
Ava and Jag are two people who have been through so much, and are trying to mend their relationship after a long period of time. I want to say that it would be super easy to keep adding fluff to the story; adding frivolous actions and events as filler, however Dani is a concise writer. She will give you the epic, concentrated version of a story. She will not water it down. She is able to give us so much in a short amount of words.
Dani is also not scared to bring up difficult subject matter and integrates it well into the story. Often times, it seams like in other books, one will throw in something really sad simply for the sake of making the reader sad (wow I need to open a thesaurus right now). Dani really shapes her story around this, making the issue central and important.
Yet another hit for me!

Dani defiantly out did herself with the chemistry with this one, however, true to her writing skills and talent, she didn't veer off the path with the emotional, heart-bonding between the characters. Dirty bits is right. Short, sexy, steamy. Ungh! I need more! PIERCED INK really was a quick read, just enough to whet your appetite and have you craving more. It has you enthralled, but you only need to blink and it’s over already – that’s how short it is. There’s not much happening within these few pages, but the love, emotion and passion you feel between Ava and Jag packs some punch. Yes, it’s heartfelt and beautiful – with sex scenes so hot they’ll burn your ereader, but that’s Dani René’s writing for you. I love her style, her ability to catch emotion and let them seep through the pages and her talent to create stories like no other. But, again, I wished this one was at least a bit longer – for more development and explanations, but also to experience the beauty of the character’s chemistry again and again – cough, cough.

I read the first chapter at the end of a book I’d read, naturally I needed to finish it I text my friend and was like I need this book and it’s filthy but I feel like the story behind these two is so much more than all that sexual chemistry that’s going on in that tattoo parlour 😂
This is without a doubt one of the 𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥, 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞, 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐭 and a whole lot more stories I’ve read.
My heart was hurting for them both throughout the whole book, but that bar scene 😭 and then her explaining to him what happened to her 😢 these are two damaged people, volatile or not there’s no denying their chemistry and love!
Next for me is Slade & Ryns story even if he was a complete dick in this one 🤔

A second chance romance gets me everytime. The fact that it's dark and dirty. . . well that's an added bonus. This is one of the author's who has taught me the beauty of a dark read. One that has broken imperfect people who have real life issues that they have to deal with and to watch them heal. While reading the book my emotions are all over and then there is such a soothing of the heart to see how hard they fight for their happy ever after. It's isn't rainbows and unicorns it's real life so be prepared. The characters will win you over. They do have hot passionate I don't give a darn sex. You have been warned.
