⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you have a writer’s block or if you’re suffering from lack of motivation – you should definitely pick up this slim, wonderfully structured book. It is divided into sections that cater to all kinds of writers. From beginners, to photo prompts, to characterisations and genres, this book has it all.
I will be honest and tell you that I couldn’t write on all the prompts but I did try for most of them. Some prompts were just wonderful, I wish I could share some here, but that will take away the beauty of the book so it would be wise to buy and write on them as you please.
My favourite sections were “Every Hair on its Head” and “Everyday Magic”, I was able to write pretty praise worthy prose for the prompts that came under these sections. According to me the best thing about this book was that it wasn’t limiting. I have picked up many prompts that only cater to the prose population of writers, however in the section “What Happens Next?”I wrote a couple of really sappy poetry as well. You could try verse too, or haiku, it is all a matter of creativity and imagination.
I would definitely recommend this book because it was very true to its name: Hack into your Creativity, Story Prompts for every type of Writer.
Hack Into Your Creativity by Michael Burns is a very well structured book for the people who want to write. There are various different prompts given for different writers with mostly all the genres. In a very systematic way different aspects of writing are described such as characters, genres, integration etc. There are also different pictures used related to the topics. The book itself is designed in a very nice and an attractive manner like the cover page of the book is in form of a ruled notebook having a picture of a pencil and its sharpens. Most importantly, there is space provided for each of the prompt so that one can write. A wonderful and a must read for all the writers.

My Review
If you are a writing prompt or planning to write a book then this book is definitely a pick for you. I really liked the concept where it provides some situation based on the categories and just let your imagination to do the job. There are eight categories in this book to enhance your writing skills:
1. What happens next? 2. Character-building 3. Incredible India 4. Genres 5. Everyday Magic 6. Two-Parters 7. Integration 8. Every hair on its head
Writing requires a lot of work- Hard Work. To me, writing is a unique passion and requires dedication and thought that is inside of each of us. This book helps you to discover your strengths and weaknesses and benefits you in such a way to turn your weaknesses into strengths. The prompts in this book are not random or any provocative words designed to stir you to write just anything. I could see that the author has made a lot of efforts and left no stone unturned. My favourite category was 'what happens next?' and to me, it has many cool prompts there.
What I find intriguing here, every person will have a different approach for different situations and the author has made a website where all the passages and stories based on this book's prompt will be posted online on mystory@booksofprompts.com.
