PranaScience is Life Science

I am really glad that I came across this book. It contains so much information regarding the science behind our breathing though we often do not attach much importance to it due to our ignorance. The content the author provided has nudged me in the direction of self experimentation and I have started to note a few differences. Also the book has given me ample philosophical thoughts to ponder upon. Fi e stars for the content and author's effort

Very illuminating.

Very impressed by the author's decoding of Saint Thirumoolar's poems. Makes fascinating read. The author, with the help of research has strived to provide scientific basis to how pranayama in general and Thirumoolar's pranayama in particular can bring about great changes in one's life.

Currently still reading, but I'm finding it a bit hard to sit through it. It feels very much like a journal as the writing is all over the place. I was expecting cited scientific journals, and in depth explanations as to how the yogic breathing has an impact on our body. Perhaps that will come up later. There are a few amount of typos that I've noticed, like using "son" instead of "sun". The chapters I've gone through also include a poem that gets dissected through the use of story telling, but still doesn't follow the concept of what I thought would be the science of prana (ex. Chapter 4). I will still continue to try and read it, and hopefully my mind will change.

How significant that I finished this book on Guru Purnima day. What a wonderful inspiring book from a young brilliant mind on a subject that is the most important to all of us. I am so pleased to have read this book and all the scientific findings he has presented. I wish him well with his studies and look forward to reading his other book. Thank You Sundar for the time and effort you have given us to explain this vital information.

This is the first book in the field of pranayama I have read in a long time that increased my understanding about this topic from a plateau. There is more awareness about breath and its scientific benefits through sundar’s research.
I also got introduced for the first time with a breathing technique different from kapalbathi, anulom vilom and bhastrika namely - kumbakom. I had voluntarily tried this technique without knowing the method of practise after reading tantric breathing techniques mentioned by Osho in one of his books. This book gave more structure to it. I plan to re read this book again in the future and also recommend this greatly to anyone interested to know more about pranayama

Interesting points but repetitive

The concept of pranayam and breathing is very nicely explained. However it gets repetitive after a point. Tamil is not a language that is universally understood although it is an ancient and revered one. The author loses us when he goes too much into the details of the language instead of the concept.

Much of this book is taken up by translation and not enough is spent on exercises

Would benefit from citing his sources, which would help the reader determine the validity of his theories. Quick, easy book on the benefits of pranayama from an ancient Tamil text.
