3.5 Stars.

Off to the edge.

“...some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.”

- Michael Caine

Well, The Aravan Head, had mystery, thriller, crime, smuggling and romance.

The story incorporates the investigation of a few murders by an intelligent and handsome officer. Arya, an encounter specialist from Mumbai Crime Branch, is the man on a mission. Even if you see him chatting leisurely, you can be certain that he has his workaholic intentions.

This time too, a serious and deadly case has brought him to the doorsteps of four girls who are going to boss him around. Arya stays in their apartment as a cook with a dummy name. Be alert, his motives are not to counterfeit them. Masquerade is the first feature you should be great at, if you are involved in perilous businesses.

And Arya does that perfectly. The girls are charmed by his work and positive nature. They don't stop praising him for being a pleasant and agreeable person. Soon, Pavithra, a soft-spoken girl, falls head over heels for him.

Everything was perfect. Smooth.

Until one fateful day, when the father of one of the girls comes to their place and meets Arya.

That day, everything was about to be changed. Veiled secrets were about to come to an end. Deadly matters are about to commence.

When you read a book that initiates itself with mysterious murders, you get hooked with that to figure out who is the serial killer or the killers and if the protagonist would catch the criminals or this time the villains would rule.

Being a debut book, character portrayal and action packed plot twists would not disappoint you.

In the middle of the criminal activities, the way the author has narrated about the near perfect life of the four girls, impresses much.

At few points, I would say that editing could have been done better. Because as you go on reading the author, your expectations go high.

Leaving the first installment of the series on a 'to-be-continued' scenario, the author has enhanced the expectations of what will happen in his upcoming novels.

Edgier cliff hangers come with higher critical expectations.

Let's see if the second installment is up to it.

Verdict goes as 3.5 with 0.5 extra attributed to the gripper of a plot line.

The book deals multiple issues at various levels.

One is of Political system is corrupt in India. There are many attempts to correct it but in vain. Since the days of JP movement to Anna Hazare we have seen efforts to cleanse the system but it comes to a naught.

Second is the question of LGBT acceptance in society. The people who are in minority and different due to their sexual makeup or orientation. They are shunned by society and looked down by all and sundry. They live amongst us but not a part of us.

Third is of systemic rot in police department. Police is meant to upheld law and order but they become tools in the hands of politicians, industrialists and Mafiosi to exploit the masses. There is large scale exploitation in the name of water tax, illegal hooch, hafta wasooli (protection money), rape, murders and the police is a mute participant in all these atrocities.

Fourth is theft and smuggling of our ancient heritage in form of idols and other things for money to be sold in foreign countries as antiques at astronomical prices. Thus the name of book “THE ARAVAN HEAD”. Aravan head is an ancient idol in Hijrawan (village of Eunuchs who are called Hijras हिजड़ा in Hindi).

Fifth issue is of Human trafficking. Young gullible girls are sold off in flesh market by ruthless dons and they are never traced. This is because they are sent in other countries.

The story starts with chapters named incidents 1, 2, 3 etc. There are incidents involving various characters like a professor, a wronged woman, her brother, a corporate honcho, wily politicians, mysterious woman who is pimp, corrupt police officers. This sets the tone of the book and our Hero Arya comes late into action. But the entry is impactful and reader comes to know that he is a no non sense officer. Arya foils the bid to steal Aravan Head in Hijrawan and saves life of one Eunuch. They he travels to Delhi on a tip and this sets up a high profile thriller.

The story is a thrill ride from the word go. The canvas is large and it tries to tackle many issues in one book as I detailed above. Inspector Arya is upright, brave, intelligent, resourceful and strong. He is very athletic and has good presence of mind. He is always one step ahead of his rivals. His friends Jagdessh and Gunjan calls him James Bond but Arya identifies more with Sherlock Holmes.

But the canvas is large and Arvind tried to tackle so many issues in one book. The length of book is big at 259 pages that too in small closely spaced font. So it becomes difficult to keep track of so many characters, locations and events for the reader.

Still the book is very good and a must read for lovers of thrill and suspense. I give this book it 4/5 stars.

THE PLOT IN BRIEF-
A politically driven criminal syndicate tries to steal a valuable ancient artifact, The Aravan Head, from a very old temple of the transgenders in Hijravan. THE TITLE-

Mythology is not a lie, mythology is poetry, it is metaphorical. It has been well said that mythology is the penultimate truth--penultimate because the ultimate cannot be put into words. It is beyond words. Beyond images, beyond that bounding rim of the Buddhist Wheel of Becoming. Mythology pitches the mind beyond that rim, to what can be known but not told. The Aravan head itself beautifully brings the atmosphere of mythology into the plot. To cut it short one describes a tale best by telling the tale. You see? The way one describes a story, to oneself or to the world, is by telling the story. It is a balancing act and it is a dream. The more accurate the map, the more it resembles the territory. The most accurate map possible would be the territory, and thus would be perfectly accurate and perfectly useless. The tale is the map that is the territory. I loved the illustration and the cover. Policemen are often confronted with situations which baffle them at first. A certain crime scene may seem meaningless, but they have to derive some meaning out of it. They have to connect the dots, find the links, delve into its history, look for evidence, come up with a zillion theories and arrive at truth. The thing is, truth is always stranger than fiction.

REVIEW OF THE BOOK-
We have lived by the assumption that what was good for us would be good for the world. And this has been based on the even flimsier assumption that we could know with any certainty what was good even for us. We have fulfilled the danger of this by making our personal pride and greed the standard of our behaviour toward the world - to the incalculable disadvantage of the world and every living thing in it. And now, perhaps very close to too late, our great error has become clear. It is not only our own creativity - our own capacity for life - that is stifled by our arrogant assumption; the creation itself is stifled. We have been wrong. We must change our lives, so that it will be possible to live by the contrary assumption that what is good for the world will be good for us. And that requires that we make the effort to know the world and to learn what is good for it. We must learn to cooperate in its processes, and to yield to its limits. But even more important, we must learn to acknowledge that the creation is full of mystery; we will never entirely understand it. We must abandon arrogance and stand in awe. We must recover the sense of the majesty of creation, and the ability to be worshipful in its presence. Arya s character keeping the plot in mind was brilliant. Although the major plot remains as a crime thriller, the author beautifully portrays the image of love, hatred, revenge and courage together.
I loved the narration of the plot and the way it has been presented. It often seems to me that's all detective work is, wiping out your false starts and beginning again. Yes, it is very true, that. And it is just what some people will not do. They conceive a certain theory, and everything has to fit into that theory. If one little fact will not fit it, they throw it aside. But it is always the facts that will not fit in that are significant. For passion, like crime does not sit well with the sure order and even course of everyday life. It welcomes every loosening of the social fabric, every confusion and affliction visited upon the world, for passion sees in such a disorder a vague hope of finding advantage for itself.
Yes it is true that Life is a revolving mystery, sometimes terrifying, sometimes maddening. But always provocative. Interesting. And although its meaning seemed beyond my grasp, it never seemed meaningless. This book is really a unique fiction. In the good mystery there is nothing wasted, no sentence, no word that is not significant. And even if it is not significant, it has the potential to be so - which amounts to the same thing. The world of the book comes to life, seething with possibilities, with secrets and contradictions. Since everything seen or said, even the slightest, most trivial thing, can bear a connection to the outcome of the story, nothing must be overlooked. Everything becomes essence; the centre of the book shifts with each event that propels it forward. The centre, then, is everywhere, and no circumference can be drawn until the book has come to its end.

YOU SHOULD READ THIS BECAUSE-

1. THE BEAUTIFUL AMALGAMATION OF CRIME WITH MYTHOLOGY.

2. THE UNIQUE AND A COMPLETELY FRESH PLOT
3. THE NARRATION AND THE STYLE OF WRITING.
4. THE CHARACTERISATION OF ARYA.

RATINGS-

Overall I would like to rate the book 45 on a scale of 50.

2. Net emotions in the story- 9/10

5. The net impact on the readers- 9/10

The Aravan head by Arvind Narsima is a good work of mystery and suspense. Though I didn't get a chance to read the first part I am really glad that I read this one and I am also looking forward to read the next part of this series.

The cover of the book is divided into parts. The top part has a man with a gun with a temple in the backdrop. These two elements have strong presence in the story. Especially the significance of temple on the cover can be easily justified after reading the book. Also the small artifact ( The Aravan Head ) in the title also has a lot of importance in the story. The bright contrast of the cover makes it appealing but i wish these elements, instead of being separately picturised , should have been blended into one single cover. The title of the book is very apt and intriguing. Also the blurb is pretty good with the right amount of information disclosed. It is clean and crisp.

The characterization is done very well . I really liked the character of Arya, the Cop, who is very active and intelligent. He is strong, practical and has farsightedness. Also the love of Arya, Pavithra, is an orphan girl who wins the heart of Arya by her simplicity. The other characters are also crafted very well. The narration of the book is flawless and gripping. This will make you finish the book in one go. The lucid language and good editing makes the reader complete the book without much difficulty. The action , drama , thrill and suspense adds more flavour to the plot and takes it to another level.

The depth of the plot clearly tells that a lot of research is done by the author on different things that is making the novel appear more real. The different puzzle pieces in each chapters, when combined , will give you something which will blow your mind away. Its a great combination of thrill, action, drama, mystery, romance, chase, politics and a lot more. Do pick this book as it is worth the money.

The aravan head
What if the choices you make lead to dire consequences? What if life is not as beautiful as it seems? Life is an epitome of unexpected choices & consequences.
The path we choose is what leads us to either happiness or sadness. One who chooses to walk the path of righteousness, strives to help humanity & believes in kindness
is greeted the same by the universe infinite times more. Keeping this fact in mind the book is written beautifully which not only impresses the readers but also teaches
them what it means to be a real human being.
Cover is beautiful, simple, subtle and matches with the story.
Title is simple, short and gives a deep meaning, the likes of which goes beyond space & time leading to Indian mythology and Mahabharata era.
Theme has many elements like love, freedom, pain, hurt, dejection, crime, injustice, judgement, humanity, insanity, suspense, thriller and many other aspects intervowen
together into an amazing book.
Story as given on the description and blurb consists of countless criminal syndicates who try to steal the infamous and valuable ancient artifact, The aravan head from
a temple of transgenders. A police officer Arya, the central character of the story intercepts them and thus make their attempt futile. So what happens next?
How come 4 and more girls get involved in this conspiracy? Grab this book to know more...
Well now coming to the most interesting aspect of the book, ie, the language. Well, I must say I'm really impressed with the level of research & knowledge involved in
crafting such a mature level of understanding in the sense of language. This book goes in par with the foreign authors in terms of language which really a feather or two
as an angelic impression on the book. The language styles incorporated are texas brotherhood engrossed with Italian gestures, touch. Enhanced further with the tapori(rowdy)
touch of the story which is set in the areas of Mumbai and which involves many parts of the country.
Authors & readers should learn from a book like this on how to craft a book magnificiently. It's not just hardwork, but research, patience, persevearance which leads
to a marvellous book. I commend the author on this aspect.
Narration is fabulous, needless to say anything on that.
Overall, a book worth reading, life changing, worth every penny.

Book Title:
The title of the book 'The Aravan Head' is very interesting and a new title. The combination of two words from two different languages added more beauty.

Book Cover :
The book cover is simple with a temple image and a traditional mast in between the words of the title with a woman's abstract image. In the cover, a clear picture of a man with a gun in grey and the woman in red depicts the contrasting moods of the story.

Plot:
The plot of the story is a new form of suspense thriller. The story line with a rich vocabulary and great narration makes the story more interesting. The reader can find a definite high action sequenced scenes while reading.

The plot is a mixture of action, love, revenge , friendship, sacrifice and bravery that brings out a nice decoction of called great story. The perfect blend of all characters with their emotions has added more beauty to the book.

It's indeed a common nature of a thriller story somewhere to lose its grip on the main storyline, but the author here has done an excellent job here in making the readers stuck to the story.

“The Aravan Head” is a story of a rebellious police officer who took off the entire criminal world of drugs, extortion, sending teenage girls to the Gulfs and export of the rare and ancient statues from various parts of the country as a storm, but his love and luck were never in his favor. The story revolves around the lead protagonist Arya and his missions to make Mumbai a criminal free state. The story begins with three different incidents which will give you a hint of the crimes happening in Mumbai. It followed by Kunwar Takoor’s arrest and death, and the situations were never the same again. Rescuing the home minister from a honey trap, going forward with his secret encounters of the most wanted criminals evading their name from the list one by one, saving the Aravan Head which is a patron God of well known transgender communities, Arya made sure to put on a tick mark on his list to reach his destiny. No matter how much the enemies tried to keep him away from their business by those departmental enquiries, Arya’s foiled all them with his sharp observations.

The story is developed upon various issues in our country. Corrupted political system, systematic deviance in the police department, human trafficking due to the active flesh markets, smuggling of the ancient heritages of the country were the issues covered in this book. The author has tried to show the society that the LGBT people are no different from others by making Preethi an integral part of Arya’s life and how they consider Arya as their ‘Guardian Angel’, shows their love and respect towards the society. Often called as James Bond by Gunjan and relating himself with Sherlock Holmes, the brave, intelligent and always a step ahead of his rivals, Inspector Arya showed that nothing is great than your will power.

The storyline was intriguing and it will keep you hooked till the end. The smooth change in plots and the well-narrated scenes were the icing on the cake. The author has made sure to provide the required details, but not to stretch them a lot. Arya’s role as Diwakar, Preethi’s inputs and mostly Pavithra’s part in Neha’s mansion were the parts which will make you feel like you are watching some crime thriller on the silver screen. The action scenes were narrated so well that you can imagine them on your head while the ‘pachyderms’ will entertain you to the bits. Also, there were few scenes which will make you emotional and you can relate them in an emotional level. The only drawback was there were too many characters for which you may get confused at times with the names and you have to turn back the pages to get the characters correctly which irks a reader. A must read for all those who love reading thrillers, this sensational book will keep you on the edge and give you a different joy of reading. Even if you read this book again and again you’ll find new experiences every time.

There was a time when I would read only love stories. And today, I am intrigued with crime thrillers. Mystery, suspense bring in the adrenaline rush and try my best to finish reading such books in a day or two. However, this particular book took a long time. Reason – deadlines at work and my mini vacation. I feel very happy to post my review.

The story revolves around Arya, the inspector and his quest on finding the person who attempted the theft of the Aravan Head. I had never heard about the Aravan Head so the first thing I did was a little bit of research about it.

The story has been narrated in different manner. One moment it talks about the happenings in one city while the next about some other. It was a bit confusing to me at first but then I got used to the kind of narration. The story has been well plotted. The author reveals the story bit after bit and so the mystery. The story keeps you hooked on to this book. The characters are plotted well.

The Aravan Head is one such book which you would want to finish in one sitting.

I rate:
Cover: 3/5
Characters: 4/5
Story: 4/5

My overall rating for The Aravan Head is 4/5 stars.

The Aravan Head by Arvind Narsima is a ‘well described and the most entertaining thriller”. This book is page turner which revolves around the protagonist Arya the police who tried to bridge between mysterious incidents which were occurring one after the other. This book is complete mixture of action, drama, thriller and love. After reading this book I felt like I was watching movie on television with strong plot and amazing character building.

The plot is something which will surprise the readers page after page. It is totally unpredictable and packed with action. The book commenced with three hideous murders at different places in different locations and in different timing, but everything was in loop which readers will realize at the end.

The plot centers around the title “The Aravan Head” which is said that it might cure disease and a god of transgender communities. The story moves both in past and present which will make its readers on the edge. Somewhere you will find yourself in a fix. The moment you will feel that you have solved the mystery it gets more deepen and darken. Characterization is something which is very strong point I considered about this very book. They actually look alive to me. Every page is like a clue given to you to solve, the more you solve the more it gets complex and ultimately book will leave you in amazement.

Multiple characters which never get mixed with one and the other, is something which I really liked about the book. A personally enjoyed read Arya part, which is cop and hunt to solve the murders. He was type of person who shoot and talk less. Typically what we see in movies.

Talking about the language which was very good and enjoyable. The title and cover justifies the crux of the book whereas the book talks about social topics which didn’t hindered the path of enjoying this thriller action packed book.

I would rate it 4/5 stars. I’m glad that Arudha Club for sending me a copy of this novel.

THE ARAVAN HEAD by ARVIND NARSIMA
is a story worth read. Its a mind boggling story of an honest police officer, Arya, around whom the whole plot revolves.excellent use of vocabulary with detailed description of the characters along with the events , made it all the more appealing. The friendship of Arya with Jagdish and Gunjan, the bond between Arya and group of girls,Aryas falling for Pavithra , his level of endurance and willpower while saving Pavithra , Preeti, the transgender and Aravan Head....are some of the incidents that made me glued to the book.Simultaneously the fact that a team of like minded people in any department can devastate any bullshit empire.however huge it may be--can arouse a feeling of pride in any countryman.
How the policeofficer had faced dire consequences to save the Aravan Head ,the diety of transgenders? How he and his love got trapped in the various sequential events? What had happenned to him or his lady love in the end?Whether he emerged victorious or got trapped in the strangulating situations? are some of the many questions that can be answere and understood only after the complete script.
But I didnt understand the sudden dissappearance of Sunaina .I would have loved if her character would have been evolved more towards the ending
The enthralling ending left me craving for more as its quite unusual.Definitely, I will love the potpotpourri,If Arya comes back.

Liked the cover page .5/5

The blurb told that it was a thriller and trust me you have no idea how madly I get engrossed when I am reading a thriller or suspense novel. And upholding my record for reading fast paced thrillers intact, I finished the book in one day. Yes! A 200 plus pages book I finished reading in a day.

The story and the plotline were quite well crafted and it had held my interest for the whole time. The thrill of following the police officer Arya in his endeavors keeps you on your toes. The characters are slowly revealed and they are well developed. The undeniable atrocities we see around us and the corruption and evil ways spread around us are well incorporated in the story.

The fight of an honest, hardworking and dedicated police officer against the system, the corrupt members within the department and the ruthless mafia provides the ray of hope to the darkness around. The background story of the Aravan head and the village of Hijravan make the story line all the more enchanting.

When a practical minded police man meets a soft spoken girl, her trustworthy friend and a couple of girls who live to eat, life seems different from his routine work. But then hell starts breaking loose around him. A hell that seems to be uncontrollable by him. Does he manage to end the inferno around? Does he get the justice he has been striving for? Is he able to complete his mission? Does he come out unscathed by the fury of the hell he had stepped into?

REVIEW

The cover design and the title gives a pretty good first impression to the readers.

Like what the blurb says, Aravan Head follows the investigation of our protagonist – police officer Arya of the stolen valuable artifact – The Aravan Head. The case is much shadier as he went deeper to the point of darkness engulfing him, putting his own life on the line. There was much to it, how will he clear the mess and save the day? Grab a copy to know more.

The characterization is what that charms a reader the most in this book. Each of them easily grows on you. Reading the book will give you an edge-of-the-seat-movie-watching experience since the scenes will play out in your mind easily. It is admirable that the author has taken such serious topics to convoy through the story – like lives of transgenders, corruption, the darkness of the society and so on.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this ultimate page-turner, I appreciate the author for such a creative creation.

'The Aravan Head' written by Arvind Narsima is a crime thriller which revolves around the main element of the story, Aravan. Aravan is considered to be the patron God of well-known transgender communities called ThiruNangai. Aravan also played a small role in the Hindu Mahabharata. In this book, the male protagonist, Arya is on a mission to find out the root cause of the theft of the Aravan Head and also find the person involved in this heist.

The thievery is actually backed by political motives of a criminal syndicate. The relic of Aravan Head is stolen from a well-known temple in Hijravan. Arya, who is an honest police officer takes it upon himself to investigate on this case. He does tend to take matters into his own hands and investigate in his own way, not always binding by law and order. These days we come across incidences where even the police officers turns out to be corrupt.

To reach to the actual culprit, Arya has to solve many mysterious cases and when he finally reaches to the point of revelation, he is shocked with the discovery.

The language was extraordinary! It’s very rare to find books by Indian authors with such good language. The author has an extensive knowledge of sentence structuring and impressive vocabulary skills. The narration flowed smoothly. The characters were well portrayed. Grammar and Punctuation on point!

The past-present shifting took me some time to get used to it but once I got accustomed to the writing style, I was with okay with it. I would have preferred if the title was more interesting. It was a bit simple in my opinion considering this book is a combination of mystery and crime.

Among all the genres, Thriller and History Mythology has always fascinated me less as compared to love stories. But at present when I picked few books of thrillers to read, the interest level of mine started increasing. The Aravan Head also proved to increase my curiosity level from the time I read the blurb of the novel. The cover of the book is designed as per the storyline of the book.

The Aravan Head holds the story of Inspector Arya who tries to solve one incident after another. Moreover, what I admired the most that the author has covered those aspects in the book about which generally people fear to even talk about. The author has portrayed each character in the book quite well. Once you start reading the book you will be so engrossed that you won’t know when you will be reaching towards the end of the book.

Overall, the book is an amazing read with full of suspense in it. From the plot to the narrative technique everything is good. You will surely feel like watching this book as a movie someday.

A character driven crime thriller, “The Aravan head”, by “Arvind Narsimma, begins with an incident at the preponed, Annual Investors’ meeting of Kalmadi group of companies, wherein the chairman’s ever smiling wife rushed in crying like as if something truly devastating struck her. As the story unravels, we learn that a politically driven organization tried thieving a valuable ancient artifact, “The Aravan head’, from the old temple in Hijravan. And as the name suggests, the temple was dedicated to the transgender community. The cop (Arya) is soon strangulated from all sides and things seem to favour the perpetrator behind all crimes. In my opinion, the book could have had less description, and the entire book could’ve been much shorter than its present length. However, this book includes various subplots and is a rich creative work, not just another crime thriller. The elements that made this book stand out were the transgender, the superior position of the antagonist and the cop’s personal life that was being deeply affected due to a case that he was supposed to handle.

A chilling thriller woven around dirty politics, drug dealing, human trafficking, police corruption, kidnapping, Mumbai mafia, and of course, the Aravan Head, the prime deity in an ancient temple that is guarded by a select group of transgenders. The unusual plot has a lot of twists, turns, gore, and mystery to whet the appetite for thrilling action.
Good narration, at times, feels almost like watching a Bollywood movie with all the dishum-dishum and the blaring background music.

Review-
One more amazing piece of art by Arvind Narsimha. The Aravan Head is a book which makes you believe that the foreign authors are nothing when Indians start thinking in the right place at the right time. I don't know how long it would have took for Arvind sir to master this art of writing thriller. Thriller which is action packed, love, sadness, romance. Everything in one single book. What's so special in this book? Well, read it twice and you will understand. The reason to read it twice is because you would have never read this kind of action packed book by an Indian Author. This is another book by the author and I never got a chance to read the Investigation series but when I read the review of that book I understood that this author's books are worth reading. Recieved The Aravan Head 2weeks back. Read it. Was going to review the book when I thought I still have sometime. Started reading it once again.
Every sentence of the book, every scene is portrayed in such a perfect way that you just can't sleep unless you complete it. The 5star packed punchlines. Punchlines are what I wait for in a Novel. Lines which just describ how the Author considered real life facts and incidents. Arya is the protagonist of the book and a police officer. Whose friends have been kidnapped by a criminal Syndicate which robs an old artifact. How will Arya tackle different situations and save everyone. The language used is also perfect for this kind of book. And when you read the book you feel that the Author has lived all the characters used by himself.
Can't wait to read another one by the author.

Review-

Arvind Narsima's " The Aravan Head " is a different type of plot with a thrilling storyline. Its a story worth read. A mindboggling story of Arya / Diwakar who is an honest policeman ,around whom the whole plot revolves. This book deals with various issues that Indian people face here like corrupt political system, acceptance of LGBTQIA community people, smuggling, trafficking etc.The story moves on a past-present mode with one chapter narrating about the past events and the other one narrating about the present events.

The story revolves around a character named Arya, a police officer who is irresistibly smart, straight forward and a genuine soul. He is kind of a person who fight for justice but not necessarily according to law. He has his own ethics and beliefs which was beautifully described in the book.

The story begins with the death of Shreya, wife of Rahul Kalmadi, the chairman of Kalmadi group of companies at Mumbai. In another incident there is a big ensemble of political heads and high profile people at the rich bungalow of Sunena Kataria, mistress of Bipin Kataria, the ruling MLA (Mumbai), to be a part of her birthday.

A conspiracy to end the reign of the ruling party is under progression under the leadership of Mayank Agarwal, the predicted future CM of Mumbai. Professor Umesh Srivastava is found killed in his own house after being threatened by the ‘black lady’ Chetana to fulfill his assignment of trafficking the college girls.

Arya is given the assignment of unraveling the mystery behind all these incidents.

A politically driven criminal syndicate tries to steal a valuable ancient artifact, The Aravan Head, from a very old temple of the transgenders in Hijravan. which is believed to cure disease and is also a patron god of well-known transgender communities. He helps to save that valuable artifact.

A case that seemed normal on the front had much more darkness to it. Thereby, he unfolds a deadly secret that connects to a series of mind-boggling crimes which points to an unlikely person of tremendous authority in the political & business circles of Mumbai. It gets more complicated and clawing as he tries to untie each knot on it, With his friends kidnapped, his own people involved with the criminals. There was much more to the case than that up front, root to evil. He himself facing departmental enquiry, Arya is strangulated from all sides.

Is he able to complete his mission? Does he come out of the hell which he had stepped into ? Did Arya arrest the main perpetrator ? To find the answers of all these questions just go and grab this marvellous action packed thriller Novel.

Language and Narration-

The perfect narration style keep the readers hooked up till the end. The language is lucid, simple and perfectly written what should be in a perfect novel. The narration of the book is flawless and gripping. which will make you finish the book in one go.

Book Cover and Title-

Personally I liked the cover of the book very much.It is divided into parts.
On first portion of cover a man with a gun which represents the protagonist of the story Arya.
On second portion , there is the small artifact ( The Aravan Head ) in the title;on which the whole story is based.
And on third there is girl .
I find the cover of the book very much attractive and appropriate for the story of the book. The Title “The Aravan Head” is interesting and catchy.

A round of applause for the author for writing such a great thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Aravan Head by Arvind Narsima.

The story here begins with three altogether different incidents, where the only thing in common was murder of someone. Story unfolds many twist and turns you won't be expecting and that what hooked me to it. A new secret would be waiting there for you as you go ahead in story and the brave protagonist Arya unfolds the deadly secret in his attempt to probe the incidents.
The point that I loved about the book is that it is well written and story was very close to reality and that's what I look in books. Though the mythological aspect here irked me a little and that is my personal opinion. The characters here are well written and described. Author didn't loose on any of them despite of their abundance.

So, this book was a great read of the month and I suggest it to the all reader out there craving for some mystery and thriller books.

Cover of the book is just amazing with an attractive look, Ajitabha Bose cover designer of "The Aravan Heads" did an amazing job, cover and the content of the book makes the book beautiful and this book is a very good example of that.
Let's talk about the plot of the book, as this is the first time I picked Arvind's book and I must say Arvind did an amazing job, I hardly read any Thriller genre book and picked this.
The story starts with three different incidents of three different locations but after reading the book you will get to know there is some connection between all the incidents and this will surely thrill you.
I love the way Author had narrated the story it looks like watching a movie with amazing screenplay because in this book one chapter is about past and another chapter is about a present.
The book deals various issues like Political system is corrupt in India., LGBT acceptance in society. systemic rot in police department, theft and smuggling of our ancient heritage in form of idols & Human trafficking
I like the way author have introduced the Arya the police officer same like a movie star. the story revolves around The Aravan Head, from a very old temple of the transgender in Hijravan, & Arya, the police inspector and his quest on finding the person who attempted the theft of the Aravan Head.
in starting I got really confused while reading because the reading this whole book is like a solving a puzzle and when you complete the reading you will get to know that every chapter of the book is very important for this book, which you can't skip, The perfect combination of thrill, love, hurt, cheat, romance and most of all the history, and yes I'm waiting for Arya again in next book by Arvind.

The Aravan Head, the most thrilling, interesting with curious plot book, written by Arvind.

I couldn't actually judge much about the book with its cover, but the blurb had little to say about the plot. The title is apt, but before completing the book you can't really know what is going to unfold with.

Three mysterious crimes, in different locations, but somewhere sort to be interconnected to one another. The stories are linked to the Mumbai mafia, how will the police solve the case.

Characterisation :

The characters are powerful, fun to read, easy to connect with. The way the characters are portrayed, it seems you can feel, and see them. As though you know those people so well.

The story, the plot, the research to connect the dots, the characters, and every detailed thing about the book is beautifully written and presented it so well. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. You find it little confusing in between, but as the pages turn, the plot reveals the story. It is unpredictable with essence of every emotional touch.  The narrations skills of the author are real good.

The Aravan Head by Arvind Narsima is a awesome suspense thriller incorporated with social and political crimes. The title of the story is new and so apt to the plot. The cover is just perfect to the story. Arya the male protagonist is young dynamic police officer who was very sincere to his job and never cared about the people against whom he is standing. Through his intense investigation against happening of several crimes in Mumbai, he got know that all those criminal are done by different mafia but who are working for a single man. Arya moved his pawns according to keep check to the main head behind these crimes. I felt like watching every scene happening in front of my eyes and each character of story felt so familiar. The language and vocabulary used coherently. It's indeed a great feast to readers who love suspense thrillers.

The Aravan Head is a thriller which starts off really well and delves deep into several aspects of the Indian society such as politics, LGBT, corruption and other taboos.
These subjects are touched by exploring the story of an inspector named Arya who is on a run to solve many incidents.
One of the many things that I liked about this book is how the development of characters take place. The character building is nice and the narrative keeps hooked right from the start.
With the mention of Eunuchs, the author has dared to talk about a community which is still fighting to find a place in our society.
The cover looks amazing and this book I finished reading in three sittings which is a big thing because of my tight exam schedule.
Overall a good read and will stay with you for a time.
