If you mess with his family, he’ll ensure justice is served… even if he risks paying the ultimate price.

Deep-sea salvage diver John McCready is desperate for redemption. Devastated when his brother dies as they recover lost Russian gold from the wreck of a German U-boat, he’s incensed when his boss publicly blames him for the disaster. But when an informant’s last breath implicates the ruthless exec as the person responsible, McCready swears revenge.

Discovering not all the gold is being reported, he teams up with a smart and sassy American engineer to craft a plan to steal it back. But with the treasure secured in a vault deep beneath the streets of London, failure could see McCready join his brother in a watery grave.

Can the driven diver survive long enough to bring a dangerous adversary to justice?

It certainly kept me entertained.

Did it feel a bit stretched in reality? Sure, but isn't that why we read? To be entertained, to be awed, to be on the edge of our seats waiting for what happens?

cliffhanger? Not exactly. You can stop here. The main story wraps up nicely, but are there strings that are waiting to be pulled in the next book? Absolutely.

Now this was an excellent adventure thriller. Had a little of everything - chase scenes, a heist adventure, revenge, lots of close calls. All extremely well-written. Characters weren't flat - I didn't feel like I was reading a script for a video game. Not sure how believable all the scientific details were, and the characters weren't ones you'd meet on the street, but everything was so well written that it was easy to suspend belief. And it was plainly enjoyable reading, hard to put down even though I needed to catch my breath every so often.

Wow! Gripping.

What a find. I found this book hidden away in a list of Kindle books available and I though it might be good, and it really exceeded my expectations. It has so much, great characters, an intricate plot, well explained technical matters, locations that are different to say the least and the thrills just keep on coming. As a Scuba Diver I could related to the underwater parts. A great read, thank you Mike, I'll look forward to the sequel.

A great action story that grabbed me on page one and kept me up to the end. Especially interesting with its undersea emphasis. Looks like the first in a new series and it seems like a good one.
I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway for this honest review.

Good Read

Who doesn't like a good revenge story. But when it's set in an underwater world and involves gold too. Too good to pass up.

Good Brit Lit

Well written and plotted, albeit a tad bit melodramatic and credulity-straining at times. Still, a good read that holds your attention

Not bad. Lacks polish in spots but it’s the first of a series it looks like.

What a fantastic start to a thriller series! John McCready is great character, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Hopefully Clare will be part of his team.
