This was a great reread and all but I had absolutely no business reading this smut at 9 years old the first time around. Will I reread the rest in the series? Yes. 1000%. Stay tuned.

I read this series a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago. So long in fact that I was fuzzy on the details I really only remembered that overall, I liked it. This is a Christian romance novel that takes place in medieval England. Arianne is a woman physically abused by her father and given in marriage by proxy to a stranger she has never met. Rightfully so she is fearful of her husband being like her father. Fortunately for Arianne, her husband Richard is a Godly man who is gentle and kind. (Richard is a total sweetheart, and we love him.) Unfortunately, Richard has a past that comes back to haunt both of them, and they must learn to trust God with their lives and futures. I ended up enjoying this story. I loved the medieval setting, as that is not a popular era for fiction novels. Arianne and Richard are good people who are trying their best in a very tough situation. Arianne is practically a saint towards the end, as I would not have been that forgiving considering what she had been through. I hope to reread more in the series.

Very cheesy. Felt like it was written by a teenager. Plot and minor plots were very unbelievable.

# 5 Well Known Author/Lesser Known Book

Book: A Kingdom Divided
Author: Tracie Peterson

What a lovely little book. So much story in one little tome, 4.5 stars! I've had my eye on Tracie Peterson for awhile, she's had longevity in the CF genre, she's been writing for more than twenty years and has more than fifty books!

I'm surprised I've never read her books until now, as some of her contemporaries are my favorite. Those would be Francine Rivers and Angela Hunt.

Mrs. Peterson wrote this book when she was still using her middle initial and it wasn't even listed correctly as her book on Goodreads! It is her book though, as she wrote it as a part of a compilation for Heartsong books and later added it to her Castle series. So it's definitely a lesser known book by a well known author!

This book had such a beautiful and strong faith message. The characters were real and believable and I even started to care for the bad guy. While there is only so much you can pack in to a novella, Mrs. Peterson packed it all and delivered. Everything was wrapped up nicely and believably. Ariane was a woman who I watched grow in to her faith, so much so she was able to impart that faith to others. She's my type of woman, strong, unwilling to back down all while pulling strength from the Lord. Richard was also a good man. A strong man with a heart for God and his lady. My type of hero! Even the side characters were stand out.

All in all I'd highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read more from this author!!

A Kingdom Divided was an entertaining, clean Christian romance. The first Heartsong book I've read... (:
This book tells a story of danger, bitterness, and love (of course), and is set in the medival days of England. Young and beautiful Arianne has never know a gentle hand among men; only her father's harsh one. Against her will, she is married off to the Duke of Glenhume. There she finds what she would not have expected- her new husband, Richard DuBonnet, is kind an honorable, not the likes of her father. He soon falls in love with Arianne and waits patiently for her love in return, which does not come easily.
But just as Arianne begans to care deeply for Richard, disaster strikes and the castle is held by an unknown enemy. Only Richard and Arianne's maid know who he is.
Will Richard be murdered by this enemy or give consent to his own bitterness and get revenge? Or will peace be made? Will Arianne be widowed just when she's learned to love, and be forced to marry her husband's murderer?

I really liked this book. It was adventurous and had the feel of knights in shining armor! <3 :)

Christian Historical Fiction (Medieval Romance). Originally a Heartsong Presents novella then later part of Peterson's Castles compilation, its a typical HP novella.... a lot of stuff in a little book!! Peterson is a veteran novelist so she has the talent for packing good character development, action, romance, and Christian virtues into about 110 pages. I liked it!! I'll keep it!!

I've read this before, & it was well worth reading again! The way women were treated makes me thankful for all the blessings we have now! I can't imagine being told by my parents, let alone the king, who I was to marry. Or that one's father should so mistreat his daughter that an arranged marriage would be desirable! That the new husband believes the Bible over the church is dangerous!

This is one of those books I go back to when I'm in a rut. I love this story of Richard & Arianne. It's sweet, loving & dangerous! I like the setting with knights, Lords, ladies & Kings.
